This is the best board post I've ever seen. Love you guys! :)
I will add this: don't be limited by organizations that have a formal volunteer program. I know of lots of amazing, under-resourced nonprofits that do incredible things for our most vulnerable brothers and sisters yet do not have the capacity to have a volunteer program. Figure out what you care about, what truly pings you, and go from there. There are always opportunities. If you're interested in volunteering in Detroit in a specific area of service, let me know and I can connect you!
My dad was murdered on Christmas Eve when I was 8. My sister never recovered.
My sister died of a heroin overdose in 2013. My mom never recovered.
You just do the best you can do and take life one breath at a time most days. You try to go easy on people and on yourself and you try to love people with all you got. You do a lot of car crying. You listen to Springsteen. A lot. On days where there are no words, there's aways Springsteen.
FYI if you're interested in attending this season, reservations open up Tuesday for the following week's show. So for example, starting tomorrow you can begin making reservations for next Monday's show. All reservations are cancelled at 6:30 before the show so make sure you get there early. :)
Why are you presuming that only someone who "grew up in Michigan" and has a history of obessing over the OSU rivalry/knew Bo would be successful here? I think that's a damaging lens from which to view anything, most certainly a coaching search.
I don't like being mad at you because I LOVE your avi, but why are you so angry? Why is it so hard to give Coach Rod credit? (Not being fiesty, seriously asking.)
Section 215, Row 32. And yes, I think they will accomodate you! If you give me your e-mail address I'll send them right over. Also, I'm sorry about your heel! Get well soon!
As the Chief RR Supporter of this fanbase and probably country, I hope Coach doesn't even think about going to Florida. They're crazy there--he'll never receive the institutional support (ie patience) in Gainesville that he's getting in Tucson. Gainesville is too much like Ann Arbor in that regard. As a friend of mine said today, if Coach goes 9-3 and gets to a Rose Bowl, they'll build a statute for him at Arizona. And for those who think that money could be a factor, Coach stands to get a hefty sum if he stays in Tucson for eight years: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2083140-rich-rodriguezs-unorthodox-n…
PS, can we please stop diminshing his wins? I'll never understand why Michigan fans continue to go out of their way to put him down. Leave him alone.
Why are some of you STILL trying to FIRE RICH ROD? Let him go. If you don't want to support him, fine. But why exert energy toward rooting against him? Why is that even a thing?
Per Three and Out, Bill Stewart made a play for almost all of Coach Rod's assistants. When Stewart offered Casteel $275,000 "and more importantly, a two-year contract", it looked great to Casteel compared to Michigan's $265,000 and no contract. Bacon goes on to quote Mike Prrish (who's a really great guy, FWIW): "If they don't hire Stewart, Jeff Casteel comes to Michigan." (Three and Out, p. 89)
Meanwhile, in Tucson, Scooby Wright (sophomore linebacker) a Rivals two-star recruit who had ZERO scholarship offers when Arizona offered him is currently second in the Pac-12 in tackles and tackles for a loss. He's also third in sacks. He just won Pac-12 player of the week and NATIONAL defensive player of the week.
Be angry if you want, but the future of Arizona Football is bright. Rich Rod can flat out coach.

Dude, NO ONE'S a good fit for Michigan. That's the whole issue. It's not them, it's us.
