Rumblings Harbaugh is going to be out in CO tomorrow

and might be watching Dylan play. Might be something to piece together?

Yep. Win and you'll continue to have everyone's attention

... and respect

Anyone know about his competition level at Norco?

In Ace's commitment post he mentioned that Norco has put out some decent talent to the PAC12, but some of these clips seem to be man against boys. Love his drive (both on film and in the gym).

Same - Harbaugh takes any competitive advtange

this might just be another one of those small advtanges. Good stuff

Will be interesting to contrast over time to Hoke's early evals

And their subsequent falls / stagnation during the camp evaluation period. Trust Harbaugh's early identification skills, and would be nice to see a Beilein-esque eye for talent on the football side.

Having been to Hattiesburg

I will wish him the best and not envy any of his upcoming summer weather or living conditions. That is the SOUTH in every possible way (including better and worse).

Oh my yes this is fantastic

You dare tempt AMHSG?

"Michigan is so deep here that I'd probably be cool with a world where their #5 guy was second on the depth chart."

YOU HAVE AWOKEN HIM FROM HIS SLUMBER. And just as was foretold in Ghostbusters, his form shall be Stribling playing second corner. We have entered #HokeRecruitingProblems being synonomous with #FirstWorldProblems

If we go in only needing a point

I almost see that as an excuse to break out something similar to what you outline to give them some punch in the knockout rounds. Front as below with the staggered 4 man look between Bradley/Jones/Zusi/Dempsey with Mixx Central and Zusi/FJohnson looking to exploit the overlap and get crosses into the box while Bradley and Mix go forward:

---------------------Bradley-------------Jones--------------------

Zusi ------------------------Mixx---------------------

-------------------------Jozy

Completely agree on narrow-ness

but I think packing the middle of the field is our rock/paper/scissors decision as stretching ourselves thinner in the back 6 only exposes us further. IMO we look to neutralize the Ghanian midfield and make them play wide by building centrally.

We don't have the personnel to execute a 4-3-3, I agree. To play with the personality types you'd be looking for, however I would offer up Yedlin and Bedoya getting 45 minutes of pure sprinting to support the outside backs. Either way I would bet heavily against us trotting this out against either Portugal or Germany but hey... let's have a fun discussion. (Btw, this looks promising in 2018 w/ either of Yedlin/Johnson out wide and J Green opposite them and Aron/Jozy up top, MB and ??Gil?? centrally)

One of my favorite times of MGoReadership

Really love the soccer pieces. I'd roll out what would loosely be considered a 4-1-3-2 looking something like this to remove the Bedoya/Zusi/Not Donovan issues. Keep it narrow and depend on width from Beasley and FJ, using Jozy in moments of "defensive mashing of buttons" and letting Aron Bacon run off him, and Dempsey to set him up otherwise.  Pros: eliminates moments of extreme "WTF IS EVERYONE" because Beckerman and here's praying that MB/JJones don't kamakaze forward often while still allowing MB to be in a more comfortable CM role, Cons: lack of width, speed and crossing ability outside of FJ, also completely new

Like his game a lot

Reminds me of another Mike... Mike Shaw. Except with better hands and a bit more weight/mass. Could be a great complement to the bigger backs, and develop into an eventual every down back.

ACL/MCL/Meniscus, then ACL/Meniscus again

Both basketball. First time I came down with a rebound on a guy's foot in a pile during an AAU game, knee buckled inward and tore ACL/MCL/Lateral meniscus (buckethandle tear), second time I pivoted wrong going down the floor avoiding a guy coming at me, tore ACL &  meniscus so they ended up removing the meniscus. Both happened within 3 or so years of each other, between summer going into my senior year of HS and Jr. year of college. Always good feeling like an old man at 27 whenever it's below freezing, but I can still run and stay active enough, even if I don't hoop anymore.

Oh Shockwave plug-in you merciful, perfectly imaged saint.

Question on flipping Lewan v. Schofield

Based on the above breakdowns (tremendous, btw), this capitalizes on Lewan's movement and superior athletic ability on the end of the line. Does it also indicate that Bryant is a more effective "puller" than Kalis? I remember someone (Demens?) saying that when Bryant pulled, you were in a world of hurt, but also heard many comments here and other boards clamoring that Bryant wasn't effective in space.

In short - if we swapped Schofield to traditional "LT" and made Lewan "TE" in a traditional alignment, then we could pull Kalis. Not saying I'd prefer either, as I don't think Kalis has shown special ability on the move, but any thoughts on this are welcome.

How many is that this year? Two?

Feel for him and his team. Yes its a distraction, but it also has to be a bit unnerving to see this happen regularly to your team's leader.

Moar Mone Mo' Problems

... for opposing guards/centers. Think he'll be really good at the nose. I also just came here to make a B.I.G. Reference. carry on.

Hand @ Cafeteria table: "I have an idea where I'm going"

I'll allow it.

I got in through the "lottery"

live just outside of AA (Plymouth) but they're obstructed view seats, no section/row listed. I'm thinking I will still purchase.

Feel free to unbuckle and celebrate

I listed to 1:30 of Les' Jazzfest and heard no music

the patience is strong with this one.

Not sure if deliberate but

when you click on the image (attempting to troll my WMU friends) Izzo's image opens... Troll away Ace, troll away.

Exactly

I have a feeling by the end of September the tagline will be replaced with "Hope is many dreaded things" namely: Tay, Denard, V Smith, Furman, Stokes (?), Gallon, Floyd, etc

Nice on the "save the game" shirt

you could add a whale in a sweatervest but that may be too far... we need a Moundros tee

Holy mathelete

That is one impressive set of numbers you put together there calibur... Well done, and while I am not the most math proficient of the MaizeRage I at least was able to connect the dots enough to box and whisker my way to reason.

I don't see how this could possibly go wrong

Signed, Three-Wheelers (As in "Four Wheels are wayyyy too excessive for offroading, lets cut it down to Three")

Mark Moundros will volunteer to play CB

(sigh) but seriously... I think we have to look at a guy like Drew "The Real Dealio" who's primary position would be PR/KR but have the ability to mix in some DB work... this is unreal. Truly unreal.

(Sheepishly raises hand)

I honestly thought of "man I hope they don't have another Victor Cruz" and then this resulted in the whole "thank God they graduated Victor Cruz"

I just... I... I...

ugh. Wellp, deep third coverages all day... Hopefully we can.. uh... generate a mean pass rush and our LB's can tackle everything within 5 yards of them, and ... and... HERO SAFETY?!

You're dead on from what I can gather

I know everyone hit the maize n blue panic button when we heard GERG mention "3-3-5" and "new terminology" but I think the 4-2-5 from NCAA is actually closer to what we will be running... I can only pray the NCAA series allows for playbook customization to include the ability to "stand up" your Craig Rohs and increase speed and decrease something stupid. I, being the type of shameless nerd that revel in said nerdiness, would squeal with joy over this type of advancement.... Return from long-straying sidebar: You're not crazy. Report is sure tackler and

Report is sure tackler and decent athlete, but in the scheme he should be fine

+1 I don't think we need Moundros to be Ray Lewis

We just need him to fill the holes behind the front, get to his zone and wrap up. We should have enough speed around him to make up for it, and from all reports he is a sure tackler, something we have lacked in recent years.
