I hate that Michigan just…

I hate that Michigan just won the national championship with a 15-0 record, where they looked more talented and better coached than Alabama, and we're still hung up on recruiting. Also, this particular recruit would likely not see the field for another 3-4 years. Everybody needs to take a break. We actually have nice things!!! I'll be basking until at least August and can't possibly be bothered about recruiting in the meantime.

He actually wore #19 before…

He actually wore #19 before he switched to #5.

Don’t post often, but this…

Don’t post often, but this feels like such an appropriate time to. As I fan, I’m sure I’m not alone in saying I reached a point where it felt like reaching this summit of college football was just not possible for a program that operated like Michigan traditionally has. I’m still not entirely sure how sustainable this level of success is, but nobody will ever be able to take this season from us. Vacated wins mean nothing!!!! BET

Means about as much as past…

Means about as much as past performance does. People get way too caught up creating insecurities for a football program. New year, new team. Incredibly difficult task ahead, but I'm excited for what this team is capable of achieving.

Is he healthy? I thought he…

Is he healthy? I thought he suffered a season ending injury.

Eh, it was really only the…

Eh, it was really only the missed 4th down conversion. With Darrius Clemons trying to block one of Purdue's solid Edges and JJ's reads obviously turned off for this game, I don't think we should panic about that result.

Uh, am I the only one that…

Uh, am I the only one that thinks Stalions is GhostofJermaineGonzales?

Will be going with four…

Will be going with four others. Second road game of the year for me (Nebraska). First time I've ever made an MSU road game. Any recommended pregame activities over there for a small group of Michigan fans?

Sustaining Bama level…

Sustaining Bama level football is definitely not what we're talking about here. Might be modern CFB's greatest dynasty. Michigan sustaining the success we've seen in this current '21-'23 run is absolutely a realistic possibility with their typical recruiting class.

Definitely felt the same…

Definitely felt the same concern in the moment. But, went back and realized it was Keshaun Harris in coverage. I can't imagine he's going to see many snaps down the stretch of the schedule.

You're telling me this…

You're telling me this Michigan team can't win a 14th or 15th game this year? Your argument is pretty damn similar to what others made when Michigan couldn't beat OSU and get into the playoff. I don't think there's a credible cfb fan or analyst that believes Michigan doesn't have the talent to win a national championship this year. If that's the case, is Michigan's roster talent really something to be concerned about at all? Man, why are we worrying about "hanging with an NFL team"? This team is really fuckin awesome and the program looks capable of sustaining this for a bit.

"This site" cares a lot less about Partridge than you seem to.

Was also at the game and wow…

Was also at the game and wow did we have opposite experiences. I've been to most B1G stadiums for a Michigan game, and I honestly can't say there's even a close second place to Nebraska for having the nicest fans. Can't even count how many "congratulations" I heard after the game. It was odd.... slightly unsettling in fact. I think they've absolutely earned their "best fans" reputation. I also didn't think the stadium emptied to an egregious degree. I'd 100% recommend catching an away game in Lincoln to anybody who hasn't yet.

Rather than including them?…

Rather than including them? When they have yet to play? Also, SC is 5-3 and unranked. I’d say Michigan and Clemson currently have comparable schedule strength, but would absolutely lean Michigan with the thorough dismantling of the committee’s #15 team.

If Michigan wins, I want…

If Michigan wins, I want Brian to give us the UFR!

It’s both

Looks a lot like a Harbaugh…

Looks a lot like a Harbaugh coached Michigan team to me....

Dude, this is a Michigan…

Dude, this is a Michigan sports blog. Yours is the the only response in this thread that displays any misguided outrage. Chill out. There's plenty of highly academic universities that seem to find ways of allowing credits to transfer. Michigan sport fans hoping we could see some of the same flexibility for the program we follow isn't a damn crime.

Sal was adamant that…

Sal was adamant that Michigan would not fire Harbaugh and implied it was idiotic to think that they would. Where was he wrong?

Credit where it’s due. You…

Credit where it’s due. You have a brand, and your commitment to it is impressive. Worth mentioning that the last Baltimore coach Michigan hired from under John Harbaugh was also a LB coach and DC. I don’t think anybody would mind having him back right now.

I think most of us agree…

I think most of us agree that the answer for Michigan football is likely a head coaching change. But, it appears as though he’ll be retained/extended. Nobody can reasonably expect a monumental turnaround in one year. Beating OSU, winning the B1G, CFP birth, etc. I think these should be immediate goals for 2022 and beyond, meaning 2021 might be uninspiring. The only way this fan base is going to regain any level of excitement for Jim Harbaugh is him showing us he can do things he otherwise hasn’t at Michigan. Win as an underdog, preferably on the road. Develop a damn quarterback.... I think we need to see a Michigan offense with a quarterback as the clear best player. Applying more pressure on the opposing defenses by showing a competent ability to use tempo and a developed two minute offense. Finally, I think he needs to exceed expectations and win 11 games. I don’t so much care who the wins/losses are against. 8-10 wins seems like the ceiling next year, but (assuming it includes a loss to OSU) nobody’s getting excited or recommitting to Harbaugh with that result. In all honesty, I’d expect a 7-9 win season next year with little to no excitement and an even stronger “fire Harbaugh” chorus heading into 2022.

You don’t seem to understand…

You don’t seem to understand this exercise. For Harbaugh to earn our collective support, he’ll need to do things he otherwise hasn’t been able to at Michigan.

I think that’s the point.

I think that’s the point.

Did you miss the part where…

Did you miss the part where they discussed Harbaugh’s replacement options?

Neither of those are…

Neither of those are impressive wins, by any reasonable measure. Any of Harbaugh’s six teams would win either of those games. Harbaugh brought the program back to a very respectable level, but it looks like he’s not the guy for getting things to the level we’d all hoped for. Far cry from Brady Hoke, however.

Nobody around these parts is…

Nobody around these parts is operating under the delusion that you enjoy anything at all, Shawn. This has gone way past unhealthy obsession territory. I hope you have somebody in your life who cares about your mental wellbeing, and I hope they’re able to get your attention as easily as an “unworthy” 17 year old kid committing to play football for the University of Michigan does. For real, go fly a kite

If you can’t see how the illustration of 45td/15int in two seasons over the previous season of 9td/10int (with three different qbs) equates to a hell of a lot more than “better than John O’Korn”, there is literally no helping you.

The narrative after that…

The narrative after that 2018 game was “why the hell was Chryst forcing the ball in the air with lousy Hornibrook when Taylor was consistently finding room to run!?”. You’re remembering that game wrong. Not to mention you seem to remember Lawrence Marshall being a difference maker...

2018 Mone/Marshall combined…

2018 Mone/Marshall combined for a whopping 1 tackle against Wisconsin, and Jonathan Taylor had almost 6 yards/carry. Mone & Kemp were the starters at DT. Also, Michael Dwumfour is notoriously not good against the run. What're ya talking about, man?

I’m sure nfl organizations…

I’m sure nfl organizations will be clamoring for the opportunity to draft a kid who hasn’t played in two years due to “chronic” back spasms.

I don’t understand the…

I don’t understand the talent level concern, as it relates to every B1G team that isn’t OSU. If 9-3 isn’t the program’s floor going forward, while Michigan routinely brings in the 2nd/3rd best recruiting classes in the conference, Coaching changes will absolutely be on the horizon.

I wouldn't, and I can't…

I wouldn't, and I can't imagine anybody else complaining if Hinton turns out to be a Willie Henry level player. Henry only saw the field for three seasons (freshman redshirt and entered the draft with a year of eligibility). If early returns suggest he might be a higher ceiling player than even Willie Henry was, I hope the coaching strongly considers foregoing Hinton's potential redshirt. Especially considering their current lack of depth along the DL.

Drive a lot for work (sales)…

Drive a lot for work (sales). Listen to all of the podcasts, every week during the football season. I really can’t find anything that compares from a Michigan football analysis and general entertainment standpoint. I also really enjoy the staff’s sense of humor, especially during weeks after a crushing defeat like we’ve just experienced. Misery loves company, especially when fully embracing the misery together.

Man, your intel is great and always appreciated. But, your emotionally laced comments after a poor Michigan performance are on par with the vast majority of useless complaining we traditionally have to wade through to find the interesting stuff on this board... and by interesting, I do mean your usual insidery tidbits. I hope we can all collectively be happy someday. This BPONE stuff sucks!!!
