So when Michigan goes 15-0, how many losses does ND need?

I got negbombed to hell when I wrote this the summer after his freshman year, but it seems my last paragraph came to pass almost exactly as I hoped.

Well Pro coach or an NCAA coach with a bowl game that is too big to bolt from.

Holy shit, between "petetion" and "alot" and the fact that you're suggesting petitions do anything ever, I've got to say this is some fine trolling.
|1 year 15 weeks ago||Part of the hype is Beilein||
Part of the hype is Beilein getting the benefit of the doubt. I mean going into last year did anybody really think Nik Stauskas would be drafted higher than Trey Burke? I loved Stauskas as a freshman but #8 overall is insane improvement -- all hail Coach B!

Rape -- Gibbons
Intimidation of rape victim -- Lewan
Fights -- Lewan, York
Home Invasion -- Clark
"Wins and Losses are just a statistic" -- Funchess
"The Michigan Brand is strong" -- Bolden channelling his inner Dave Brandon even though our team is a fucking embarassment
"We're going to run college football" -- Drake Harris even though he is terrible and the team hasn't done a damn thing since he came here
And pretty much every player who has been shifting blame from themselves and the coaching staff onto the fans. Passing the buck in the most cowardly way possible.
|1 year 15 weeks ago||Totally agree. At least the||
Totally agree. At least the 3-9 Threet/Sheridan years had some players who looked like they gave a crap. This team is not just an embarassment on the field, but most of these guys are totally unlikeable off the field as well. Arrogant as shit and an absolute disgrace to the game of football.
Can't wait to hear the players blame the fans again for lack of support while they and the coaching staff shit the bed yet again.

Worse than Denard? I mean Threet, Sheridan, Forcier, Gardner, Morris, Bellomy all come to mind.
|1 year 18 weeks ago||It's sort of ironic, because||
It's sort of ironic, because I completely support the players and not the coaches like you said. But irritating things like this and the Brian Cleary rant are making me support the players less. I'm still in full support of them but their "nobody believes in us" attitude acting like we are all fairweather fans who have abandoned them is actually starting to drive a wedge between the fanbase and current players -- at least it is for me.

Hopefully we hire Gordon Gee to fire Brandon and hire Tressel in an ultimate OSU troll move.

The problem with this is how you know someone's intentions when they sign up:
Scenario A: Someone get diagnosed with a disease that may require bone marrow, signs up before needing a transplant, then says they are registered and deserves the transplant. This person only registered to get the service.
Scenario B: Someone signs up and coincidentally gets diagnosed with a disease shortly thereafter. They need a bone marrow transplant now too, and had good intentions, so making you be active on the list for donators for X amount of time before you are allowed to receive seems like it would screw these people.
Seems just about any law would allow people to circumvent the rules, and for something as serious are requiring bone marrow people will put a lot of time and effort into circumventing the rules.
|1 year 41 weeks ago||Definitely happy to see this||
Definitely happy to see this guy banned, however I do think punishments in the sports world are VERY inconsistent with the rest of life.
For instance, Ron Artest went after fans in the stands and was not banned for life. Is being a racist sack of shit worse than physically assaulting helpless fans (the wrong ones at that)? I don't know. The McGary punishment in the NCAA had me thinking about what sports model I would prefer to see in college in terms of punishments and it seems like in MLB, NBA, and NFL you can get away with a lot more shady crap but the second you are not PC or get caught with PEDs your career is ruined.
Just doesn't make sense to me.

I wasn't a soccer hater before but after reading all that buildup for a "highlight goal" that wasn't even momentarily exciting I think I might become one.

A point a minute is easy.... that's only 40 points. Two points a minute is harder.
|1 year 46 weeks ago||The degree vs no degree issue||
The degree vs no degree issue is one thing, but the fact that he's willing to lie on a resume probably means he's willing to do shady stuff to get ahead with his basketball program too. So I wouldn't be pleased about that.
In terms of Beilein, if he was a new hire then definitely would not accept him. It's definitely harder to make the call if he has already been a successful coach at your school for a number of years. Basically if I'm USF I definitely wouldn't take the guy but if I'm Manhattan I might try to reach a compromise where he finishes out his degree this summer before the next season starts (if he really attended UK for 4 years he must be close to finishing his degree).
|1 year 46 weeks ago||The only losses I could see||
The only losses I could see so far are the @Duke, Home vs. Wisc, and BTT game. Probably lose at least 1 maybe 2 of those games. No way do we lose to Charlote, @Indiana, or @Iowa. I don't think we would have lost @Iowa State either considering much of the reason we lost that was due to figuring ourselves out still.
|1 year 48 weeks ago||I'd actually say that's OSU||
I'd actually say that's OSU for now -- they went to a Final Four and an Elite Eight whereas we got knocked out in the first round and made the Championship game. I think if we do well this year and they stumble we could take the lead in this regard.
|1 year 49 weeks ago||2 seed plays 3 seed in the||
2 seed plays 3 seed in the Sweet 16. This wouldn't affect your logic for UM vs Duke but would affect other scenarios.

I have no idea how someone could not have figured that out until today and yet still be smart enough to turn on a computer.
|1 year 49 weeks ago||Huh? UVA is going to get a #2||
Huh? UVA is going to get a #2 seed, so you're THAT confident they will lose to a #7 seed? Look I'm not saying UVA is the greatest team ever, but I would say they at least have a really good chance of making the sweet 16. I don't think they will make the Final Four but missing the second weekend would be surprising.
|1 year 50 weeks ago||I personally wouldn't rank||
I personally wouldn't rank THJ 2nd either but I don't think it's that farfetched especially if you are projecting how good he can be later down the line. His game is translating far better in the NBA than it ever did in college, and he is coming off the bench and not getting starters minutes. He has been extremely impressive this year. It's kind of crazy that a guy I would've thought was about our 4th best player last year (behind Burke, McGary, GR3) is a guy you can reasonably say is performing in the top-5 rookies in the NBA this year.

|2 years 5 days ago||My favorite part of this vlog||
My favorite part of this vlog was him talking about how you've got to earn everything in life and nobody cares what you did in highschool. How many top-5 overall recruits come into college talking about earning their way? Not many I would guess. As much as I would like to think of myself as a humble guy, if the entire world is telling you that you're the best, a 5-star, future all american, etc, I probably would get a really big ego. Crazy how mature this guy is for an 18 year old.
|2 years 11 weeks ago||No.... don't turn down any||
No.... don't turn down any bowl, we CLEARLY need the extra practices. I don't give a damn about honor, I care about getting better for next year. We're one decent OC away from being a good football team.

On the plus side, he's going to get hit every play regardless of what we call.....might as well gain a few yards!

Smot is listed at 6'8". Pretty big difference between that and 7 foot in the NBA.

Agreed. The bye week before State, the time before the South Carolina bowl game, the time before the Alabama opener......
|2 years 13 weeks ago||I wasn't there but I was||
I wasn't there but I was personally happy when I heard the stadium boo-ing on TV. Sorry if that makes me a dick, but I have to be honest. I don't want the kids playing to be boo'd, but I think the playcall boos are completely acceptable. I have no faith that Hoke or DB will fire Funk/Borges unless it becomes unavoidable due to loud boos and negative PR. It sucks that recruits have to hear it but honestly I care about what's happening on gameday not our recruiting -- our classes in the past have all been top-20 except for RR's last year, so don't give me the BS about no talent on this team. Stars mean jack shit when you are 7-6 or 8-5 every year.
|2 years 13 weeks ago||Texas & USC both rebounded||
Texas won 5 in a row, USC won 3 out 4 and were competitive in their loss at ND. Major programs with the balls to fire a Coordinator or a HC mid-season. I see no reason why Borges or Funk should continue to be employed starting tonight. We just lost to a Nebraska team at home that is probably the least talented in the division given all of their injuries.
|2 years 14 weeks ago||First of all, I'm not||
First of all, I'm not defending Borges or Funk. I think they are both doing a terrible job. But I don't like when people just post statistics without any real analysis which is the bigger issue I have with this post.
Is losing to Toledo 13-10 or Ohio State 42-7 an accomplishment because we scored a TD? I donno, even though the game was horrible its nice to at least be bowl eligible consistently which is something Rodriguez only managed in 33% of his seasons (if we're going to bring up ridiculously small sample sizes) compared to Hoke's 100% rate.
I have no doubt that Braylon/MM/Terrell all would've done much better against MSU than this UM team did yesterday, but I think their win rates over time would've been lower. When you post MSU/OSU win percentages, but MSU had a garbage team since the late 80s it makes it look like you're accomplishing a great deal more than you are. The reality is we beat OSU occasionally and MSU consistently, hence the 60-65% win rate against those rivals. If MSU's team was as good as the current MSU teams are, I bet it would've looked a lot closer to 50% win rate against rivals (losing a little more often to OSU and a little less often to MSU).
Who knows what's going to happen the rest of the year. Obviously Michigan will be huge underdogs to OSU, but they are undefeated at home and you always have a shot (that's why the games are played). If by some miracle Michigan pulls out a win against OSU then Hoke will be 3-3 against MSU/OSU and 2-1 against Notre Dame in his 3 years. Granted that doesn't seem extremely likely, but at least let the 3rd year finish before looking at 2-3 game sample sizes.
