Power 5 stat is wrong Seth. Off the top of my head we beat Wake Forest my senior year, 2016. Surprised you didn’t star Walker, he’s the biggest home run threat in the run game and pass game. For the record, this is the first time in my life I’m rooting against Michigan - going to be a strange sensation on Saturday. That being said, Go Army, Beat Michigan!
Living in Kansas now, so glad the fiancé and I went, and stayed to the end.. second sweetest Michigan moment to the win over OSU in 2011 that I've seen.
He remains about as dangerous as a fullback can be, the offense just hasn't been in the position of using him as much. That must be why he's lost his star, I dont think his blocking or dive ability has regressed. Too bad the play against Indiana didnt count.
Seems like the Harbaugh recruited O line may yet come along. Bredeson and Onwenu are already serviceable. Last years wideouts include a guy kicked off the team, a basically useless Crawford, and McDoom, who will probably max out as a very situational player. At least this years freshman class seems to have the talent to make up for it, though not this year.
The biggest factor is going to be the defensive line containing the dives. An option team facing 2nd and long is going to be a lot less effective, 1st down is always critical. It kind of takes away the dive option the rest of the series. I watched Army struggle through a 2-10 season in 2015 mostly because they had no good B back and a poor offensive line. Although I expect Air Force wont be that bad this year, Michigans DTs should be able to swallow up the fullback pretty easily most of the time, only thing Id be concerned with is how the line holds up when either Mone or Hurst are off the field. Im assuming Michigan will have to go with a 4 man front for 90% of the snaps in this one. Interested to see how Don Brown may surprise us.
The pride and dream of every heart in gray. Grew up a Michigan fan, went to West Point, pretty simple. The 2013 and 2014 seasons were pretty bleak, but now I confidently believe both my teams are on the rise. Beating Navy last year was the most satisfying sporting event of my life, attending the 2011 win over OSU is second.
I think its cool to play other top tier public institutions, and it would be a likely win while still decent for strength of schedule. Also, I live close by now and would like to see a game there.
Uniforms are awesome. After the OSU game, my Army/Michigan loving heart will not be able to take another heartbreaking loss. Pull for us, Go Army, beat the squids!
It is easier to recruit at Navy for a few reasons. Not having to go into the Army after graduation is a big one. As a guy from my high school who went on to play at Navy told me when I told him I was going to West Point, "wow dude. People die in the Army." Annapolis is also a great town and the area loves the team, Highland Falls NY is a decidely not great town. Football players at Navy also have some perks like living in their own quarters, here the football players live in the barracks with the rest of us. The next biggest factor I think is coaching, Niumatalolo is better than anyone Army has had in a long time. And finally I think there is a self-perpetuating factor, if you're a good high school player interested in the academies, why not go to the one that has the most success if you can. That being said Go Army Beat Navy
Yes our losses are all to good or great teams, but we're lacking a real quality win at this point. Beating Purdue or Maryland would be a good first one.
Most studies that attempt to regress athletics (football and basketball) success with enrollment find no statistically significant impact. I wrote an Econ paper on this myself, I looked at success over two seasons followed by apps received and enrollment the next two and there was not significant correlation. Not to say some small schools can't catch lightning in a bottle, a la app state, or fgcu

And Wisconsin had a bad season las year. I prefer to think about the 2016 Penn State season right now
When and what department did you teach in?
Thanks for the reminder.. also lost to Fordham to open 2015. Nearly lost to Bucknell that season too. Wasn’t great

Proud USMA grad and current Big Red One soldier - BEAT NAVY

Working at Fort Riley now, couldnt miss out on Michigan in Kansas. Go Blue!
I have admired your writing ability and knowledge for some time, and now I also admire your courage and resilience.
I was there last year - best sporting event of my life. Have fun out there tonight!
One commercial for an entire quarter? Not on our watch!!
Aint nobody gonna throw in this game anyhow. Ball security might decide the game - hold on to the ball! Good pitches! GO ARMY!
SINK NAVY!!
I like when Delany sucks it. You disappoint
But then when OSU wins but doesnt cover you hate yourself more than anything.
People can mistake random events for patterns, but sometimes patterns do exist.

Best gimmicky top 5 of the season!
But seems to me like its weighing that far too heavily. I see both of those games being 60-40 type matchups with the advantage to the home team.
Steve the Defense
To Army! Given their remaining schedule, I do think they can win 10. 9 probably most likely.
All I can think of is they're trying to keep the playbook under wraps until MSU and PSU or something. At least I hope thats what it is.
If by some miracle an Army flag is planted on the horseshoe field on saturday I will be framing that image on my wall.

Not sure what either coach was thinking the last 3 min there. Hope we come out ready to go 2nd half.

Anyone still doubt the toughness and determination of this team?
This team has been very fun to watch since the OSU game. Well done Irvin coming alive tonight! And very nice defensive play too
Have to admit this win meant more to me than any other sporting event in my life so far! Go blue! And GO ARMY!

So I'd get there a little before that!

Want it to be the only game played that week
This year is THE YEAR
Awesome Seth. Would never read that anywhere else
And my charity is the Fisher House Foundation
56-3 Michigan!
Before he was an OC he was mostly a WR and TE coach.
49-16 Go Blue
73-6 M
Because I'm guessing nobody's picked him yet...

Leadership and grit are valuable in any profession. So is swag. Can we just go back in time 4 weeks and try this season again or
Great opportunity to end the season with another shutout.
Those helmets are ridiculous. I respect Navy and the midshipmen but GO ARMY BEAT NAVY.
Thanks
What Brian means by 'Special K issues, particularly at Yost'?

Could end up being a key win in March
