I know we are a superficial society. I just don't like it and I just call it out (admittedly too often). I especially don't like it in women's sports; many men don't enjoy watching women's sports, so then it's all about how attractive or unattractive the women are. |

paying student, I was also jealous of the support athletes got compared to me. It is a benefit they get, and while regular/non athletes would have to pay for that benefit, they don't. FWIW I don't have a problem with it, because they have demands on their time... but for those who imply the students are so taken advantage of, this is one of those things that should be kept in mind. |

To all you dads out there! I drove my family to my in laws in Palm Springs for the weekend and my Dad joined us. The kids and I are making omelets for the grandpas/dads and just hanging out. |

mat (size of a welcome mat) that looks like the football field and was made from the turf of the field. weidenbach gave it to me as a graduation gift in '91. I was the FedEx driver for the athletic department while finishing up at Michigan. Really cool to have a piece of the field! |

For me this is all about the terrible judgement part. Of course IF it came from a booster type that would be the bigger story, but that photo doesn't tell that part of the story. Obviously kids do dumb stuff, but this is pretty high up on the "not smart" meter. personally, I was relieved to not see Michigan as one of the schools listed as offering him. |

Once you're where you're working it won't really matter. Think about what's important. prestige? bragging rights? a name? Or what experiences and opportunities she wants. Just like any decision, check out the options and the right choice will become clear. You just need to figure out what the goal is and what you want. It's awesome that she will have great options and will undoubtedly be able to find a great path. |
