1) Freddie Mercury; setting aside range, control, dynamic, tone, etc., what puts him at the top for me is his incredible diversity. I'm not sure anyone else on the planet could have pulled off his catalog.
2) Jeff Buckley
3) Chris Cornell
4) Jackie Wilson
5) Roy Orbison

Sioux is generally regarded as an exceptionally offensive way to refer to the Lakota/Dakota people. Might not be worse than redskin, but not much better either.
I'm holding out hope that GREGG was correct in his prediction that we would enter a quiet period where a whole lot of nothing would happen and that this period would feel somewhat negative.
To be honest I'm not sure what being a famous alum has to do with it. The idea is to hire the best coach, not the most popular one. And I would argue that Loeffler's coaching credentials at the time were better than Harbaugh's. By 2002 he'd already strung together a very impressive resume: Griese, Brady and Henson. Furthermore, success as a player does not guarantee success as a coach.
Well this was in 2002 and Harbaugh's only experience was an unpaid gig with Jack at WKU. It was something like one year removed from his pro career. Loeffler was pretty clearly the right choice at the time.
I resonded to you earlier in one of the many deleted posts, but I'm fairly certain it has something to do with Lloyd passing Harbaugh over for Loeffler back in 2002 and Harbaugh's comments in 2007.
I met him once in Palo Alto. He seemed like a very good person. Obviously it was only a brief encounter, but he wasn't at all the way media portrays him to be.
There's something endearing about a guy taking all his threes from well beyond the NBA line. Especially whent that guy is 5'11 and has a knack for making them.
Definitely beating Ohio State in 2011, the first UTL is a close second, though. And if we're talking about our favorite 'moments,' then I might include his initial presser. I was ready to run through a wall when he started pounding the podium.
I honestly don't understand the Shaw hype. He had a few good seasons riding Harbaugh's coat tails, but Stanfords been on a downward trajectory ever since.
And yet there is still a team. There are still players that need direction, recruits that need to be contacted, and assistants that need to be lead. I won't pretend to know how the football team is run, but I don't think a head coach's responsibilities end when there are no more games on the schedule.
I'm not sure that's necessarily true. I assume somebody has to be in charge of the team if Hoke is fired. Perhaps they won't be given the 'interim' title, but they'll certainly have all the responsibilities.

Presumably because they misspelled University.
Fergodsakes.
Wait? Until after work? That takes a level of discipline I just can't quite wrap my head around.
I mean, they are wearing headsets.

Clearly because he's in the Les Miles Mafia. Duh.
Agree 100%.
Don't you mean Harboobies?
Boy, I hope not. That said, Harbaugh v. Brady/Belichick would be quite the matchup.
And likely anatomically accurate for 99.99% of this blog.
And... everybody breathe.
Liar, liar Mrs. Meyers on fire.
I'm not going to lie, my heart skipped a beat when I saw Harbaugh in all caps.
Come on, Coach Schiano, don't sell yourself short like that.
Haha yeah, because that would be silly. But, you know, just out of curiosity, what did your friend's grandma's housekeeper overhear?
So wait, how does this impact San Francisco's playoff chances?
At this point I think the Raiders should hold onto Sparano. He's clearly the answer to their coaching woes.
Oh, well this is truly surprising.
Vince Lombardi, Don Shula.
Wait what were we doing?
Can you please stop with the hoe bag schtick?

Do you think he's willing to leave the Ravens?

Haven't heard of him.

Ah yeah, I remember that now. I must have selectively forgotten it.
Not to be antagonizing, because I'm honestly curious, but who else has said that they think he's staying in the NFL?
Are you the bank? Because good old Al is dead.

Certainly, so far so good. Let's just hope the second part of this transition is conducted with similar finesse.
Agreed. Hopefully this means better things for both the University and Coach Hoke.
Good luck, Coach, wherever you may go. I'm truly sorry it didn't work out.

Congrats to Coach Rod. It's really too bad he didn't work out here, but I'm sure this will be the first of many successes to come.
Seems the dominoes are beginning to fall. How fitting, then, that Brandon was the first.
