1997.. I was in fourth grade, born and raised in ohio, family full of buckeyes. I was the rebel that always had an affinity toward the winged helmets. It was the first year of Michigan football I really knew what was going on and fully got into. The week leading up to the game I remember at school we had rivalry activities each day and for the Friday before the game painting my face half maize and half blue and getting a couple friends to go along with me to make a giant Michigan Banner with players numbers to hang on the wall of the classroom.
Obviously Woodson was my favorite player and just watching the iconic punt return, the long reception and the interception in the endzone was absolute bliss.. What made it better was watching my brother, who is 2 years older than me, and dad in complete agony as we went on to win!
Interesting thanksgiving story.. close family friend is Kevin Wilson’s nephew and told me a story that before the Purdue game Kevin went to Ryan day and laid out around 10 plays based on Purdue’s defensive tendencies he thought would hit for big play. Day didn’t call one play and Wilson from that moment on has checked out and there has been a divide in coaching staff since then...not that this is the major reason this osu team has been crap this year but I think it could be a little piece of what’s going on.
I have to work until 145.. Same for next Saturday... Thankful I will at least be able to keep up on my phone and watch some of the second half but definitely frustrating not being able to watch it all live
It really is a big deal to a lot of recruits I would imagine. When I was being recruited coming out of high school I specifically ruled out one school because their food choices were so minimal. I had specific needs for my weight goals and food and nutrition are one of the biggest factors to meet them
