The Michigan difference
|33 weeks 3 days ago||IBM||
IBM has lost some of its public fame because it got out of the hardware business, but there are still SOOO many people who are writing case analyses as we speak on their sales and IT consulting functions. Also, it's really commendable to make a switch to a services-based company while realizing your money maker (PCs) is about to get virtually displaced.

To the OP, "Re-signs" NOT "Resigns." Very different meaning here.

That's not all in Austin. Apple is doubling the size of their Austin office to 10K people, Dell (albeit poor performer) is still around, Intel recently moved here, Google has a smaller office, AMD's HQ, Samsung/HP have a presence

Steve Patterson came to give a talk to our MBA marketing class a few weeks ago. A couple points:

Well, at least they got the out-of-bounds call at the end, unlike us. I agree the offensive foul killed their momentum, though

Ditto, I have UNC beating them in the next round

I went a perfect 16-0 on day 1

I'm a UT grad student, so I'm really looking forward to this matchup. And no, I won't be wearing any burnt orange.

Really, no position more dangerous? How about a boxer, a QB who continually gets blindsided, or a WR who gets lot up in the middle of the field? Maybe the actual baseball to the face is the most dangerous type of hit, but the frequency of the hits for the aforementioned players is much dangerous overall

Did you watch any games before his son committed to UM? He was just as bad, if not worse, back then.

I attend the McCombs School of Business now and am having lunch w/ Red McCombs in a couple months. On the campus, there is only a mild racial undertone. The principal issue is that UT became the leading revenue-generating program in the country by building a clean-cut program w/ uber supportive donors. Strong's checkered past w/ the media and boosters scares a TON of people.

If he wants the #2 jersey, but he also wants to be BETTER than Woodson, the #3 jersey seems like the perfect differentiator where he can make his own, but similar, legacy.

What?! Chip Kelly is going to replace Borges as UM's OC? Yesss

I will bet that a steak is at stake for the players this game

What if, in the off chance, he was actually sore from an injury?

Insightful, bro. I wasn't considering moving out of TX until you helped me realize I was only here for Texas Toast
|1 year 14 weeks ago||Yes||
Yes, they DO drink regularly during the season. TD's Bar on Sat. nights used to get a ton of players there. However, they stay at a hotel Fri. nights, even for home games, so it's not as easy to break curfew/rules. Does that happen? I'm not sure
|1 year 14 weeks ago||Does||
OP, does your TP story involve his cousin, Tony Clemons, and a sorority girl from one that could be mathematically translated to "change change change"?
|1 year 15 weeks ago||So||
So, based on your language, obviously C Perry (and others) were coming close to infringing on impermissible benefits. What exactly is wrong w/ former players endorsing the program, though? Is it considered a tangible benefit to just meet an alum?

So maybe they can use part if it to re-design the exterior of the new B-school..?
|1 year 16 weeks ago||Well||
Well, I guess I'm clearly in the minority here. I'm usually the first to jump to the ceiling after a hype video, but I felt this one was a little slow and drawn out; albeit very professionally produced.

Does anyone get concerned about how many players and recruits visit mgoblog? We're going to have to be so cautious about pissing them off, we won't be able to actually write how we feel (e.g., "He had a terrible game. He needs to go back to the basics and bench."

Charles Woodson Fathead poster that came w/ stickers of all the other UM logos
|1 year 28 weeks ago||Why||
Why don't you consider a happy medium? For example, you could be a TA who just has to grade papers and maybe lead one seminar a week. The school will often pay a big chunk of tuition, and you could use that saved money to find a cheap place near the peers in your program.
|1 year 29 weeks ago||When||
When I was friends w/ a few players, they had a hard time dealing w/ the pressure of having the fanbase and student body on their shoulders. Specifically, students' happiness/sadness on Mondays was the result of game day wins/losses. Did you feel that pressure, and was it ever discussed between teammates?

Based on the number of these recruiting stat threads, we should just have a google doc pivot chart that can be referenced any time you're wondering, "Hmm, what's it look like w/ Peppers in the mix?"
