5 hours 6 min ago Would love to see college

basketball games again, in particular the 2k series, but it won't happen until the NCAA reduces the liscensing fee to make it possible to make a decent profit. The NCAA raising the fee is what caused 2K and EA sports to stop making college b-ball games.

5 hours 11 min ago Already preordered the PS4, have no interest

in the Xbox One, might look at it when it drops signficantly in price. Even if you throw out the additional hassles associated with XB1(different used games system, no renting, 24 hour online check in even for single player games) out the window, there is still no way in hell I am paying $100 more for the system that is the weaker of the two from a raw power standpoint. There is nothing appealing to me about the XB1 (tv features are pretty meh when it still requires a seperate cable box and I have no interest in Kinect). That is coming from someone who played on their 360 more this gen, despite owning both.

Also expecting big things from Sony's first party exclusive developers this gen, currently playing The Last of Us now, and it is incrediable, just as the Uncharted games from the same developer were. Can't wait to see what can be done with the power of the PS4, though I am sure we will see some impressive stuff on the XB1 as well.

As far as NCAA, I will check out the demo as always. Doubt I will buy the game this year though, waited for a large price drop before buying last year, after buying day one every year before.  Got sick of playing a game with minimal improvements year after year. Don't have a ton of free time to play games, would rather spend that playing games actually worth full price. I can wait for the actual season to stratch my college football itch this year.

1 week 6 days ago Good point, I don't

think it would derail the Tigers season or anything considering the other guys they have, since Peralta would be back after 50 games. Stll though for those 50 games, the offensive dropoff (assuming Peralta continues to have a good season) would be substantial.

Jackson will obviously add more depth to the lineup when he get's back if they lose Peralta, and V-Mart hopefully getting on track at some point would also help as well.

1 week 6 days ago I wonder about this too, if MLB even has the

power to suspend these guys based on the agreement. Obviously, positive tests and criminal convictions for steroids are violations, but I am not sure what the rest of the agreement says when it comes to whether the word and records of a suppliers are considered to be enough evidence for a suspension.

1 week 6 days ago It wouldn't be an adventure in the field

at least, Santiago is a good defender and has been throughout his career. The dropoff in offense would be a major hit though.

2 weeks 5 days ago He stated pretty clearly what the dumb

part of his post was. Young guys make mistakes, as simple as that, you don't dump a high rookie draft pick because he looked like a rookie in his first playoffs.

2 weeks 5 days ago I think people underestimate

Pavel's impact on the game. Sure offensively, there are guys who are better, but it would be hard to find a better two-way player than Pavel when you consider how good he is defensively.

With that said, he and the Wings may part ways when his contract is up, but it certainly wouldn't be because Pavel doesn't have a huge impact on the game. I honestly haven't heard any rumors about a problem between Babcock and Pavel though, no idea where you're getting that.

2 weeks 5 days ago Nobody on the Wings rolled over and

died. They gave everything they had against a better team in this series.

2 weeks 5 days ago Not really, they were outmanned

and outgunned in this series and still pushed Chicago to the absolute limit. They only had one chance at home to close the series out, it was going to be difficult to close Chicago out in their building in game 5 or 7.

2 weeks 5 days ago Your seriously are on crack if

you don't think Smith has any talent. You act as though mistakes from a rookie are not expected. The Wings young guys will take alot from this season, and be better moving forward, no reason to dump any of the young guys.

2 weeks 5 days ago Oh well, hats off

to the Wings for giving Chicago everything they wanted in this series. Proud of this Red Wings team for the effort they gave this season, the young guys will take alot of from this season.

I know some people will try and say the Wings choked, but it is easier said than done to close out a series when your facing a better team, and you have young guys who haven't quite learned how to close.

One thing is for sure the young guys showed they can play, and the Wings should be back to their usual standard in short order.

2 weeks 5 days ago Are you aware that Zetterberg was

tripped on the play, which created the chance in the first place? Just because NBC wants to ignore it, doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Edit: This is a reply to Brown Bear.

2 weeks 5 days ago NBC casually disregarding Zetterberg

getting tripped on the play, not shocking though, NBC has made it clear from the start of this series who they want to see win.

4 weeks 2 hours ago While like I said being in the crease

does not automatically make it a no goal. It basically comes to a judgement call about whether the goaltender was given the room to make the save, if the player is not making direct contact with the goalie in the crease.

Upong further thinking after my initial post, I think it is a call  that can be argued is technically correct, but is not a call that is  not consistently made on that type of play. That second part is why Chicago had a problem with it.

Like I said though it is ultimately irrelevant, as the Franzen play has been called boarding all year and in the playoffs, and Chicago never would of gotten back in the game had that been called in the first place.

4 weeks 3 hours ago No, but he certainly wasn't giving

him the oppurtunity to get out though. And the player being in the crease does not make it interference  according to the rule. It is basically a judgement call if the goaltender was given enough room to make the save.

But like I said whatever anybody's opinion on that call is, the Hawks got a gift on the no call on Franzen so it is really irrelevant to the outcome. That is why Quenneville has no room to bitch about it, regardless of whether it was  the right call or not.

4 weeks 3 hours ago Kindl had the Hawk player pretty much

pinned in though. It looked like Howard still had enough room to make the save to me. Though looking at the rule, I would probally rephrase from very bad to questionable though, as you can certainly argue that he was impeding Howard to some degree. And yes Homer did have numerous phantom calls made on him based on his reputation, no disagreement with that.

Whatever the case it isn't revelant, Chicago had a goal given to them on a non-call, so it is wash, and they have no room to complain about the outcome. The team that deserved to win the game did.

The Hawks should worry more about the fact that the less talented team in the series is physically dominating them. Basically the Wings are doing to Chicago what some teams have done to the Wings in the past, all be it in a more clean manner than those teams.

4 weeks 3 hours ago The no call on the Franzen play

really makes that  a wash though.

4 weeks 3 hours ago Chicago (Quenneville in particular) needs to stop bitching

about that goalie interference call, it was a very bad call, but that no call on the Franzen play makes that a wash. Gotta love the Hawks getting pushed around physically, getting frustrated, and having to resort to cross-checks and boarding guys. First time in awhile I can remember the Wings frustrating a team with their physical play.

4 weeks 4 hours ago You didn't offend me, but I just

don't see the point of  insulting the Wings D-Men by comparing them to a grandmother, when they are overchieving given the opponent.

Just kind of baffled by some of the posts I see in these threads criticizing the Wing's young players for mistakes you would expect to see in pressure situations, considering the overall body of work in terms of overchieving to get this far.

4 weeks 4 hours ago They are young D-Men

for the most part, what exactly do you expect? They still make mistakes like you would expect, but they are certainly more sound than earlier in the season. I also have no idea what two games you have watching if you don't think the defense has been better after game one, considering Chicago is the best offensive team in the playoffs.

The Wings have already overachieved this year, anything they do from here is gravy to me. This isn't the 1997, 1998, 2001 Wings, or 2008 Wings team, you can't expect them to play as sound as those teams. This team has given everything they have, to get to this point, they deserve alot of credit. We have been spoiled by the Wings over the years, this is the first Wings team that has had to overchieve.

4 weeks 4 hours ago Not sure why you a are criticizing the Wings

d-men or the Wings in general when they are leading a more talented team 3-1( should be 3-0) and have outscored them 7-1 in the last two games.

4 weeks 4 hours ago Not really questionable, that play

has called a penalty consistently throughout the season. It was clearly boarding, that is just as dangerous of a play as any hit that resulted in a suspension so far in the playoffs. The NHL picks and chooses when it wants to "protect players" it seems.

4 weeks 4 hours ago Fucking unbelievable, that

has been a penalty 9 out of 10 times during the season. And what is with these announcers basically openly rooting for Chicago, trying to say that wasn't a clear cut penalty.

4 weeks 5 days ago That based in Detroit thing/insult

would actually matter if Wing's fans actually lived in Detroit. Thankfully most of us do not, so that point is pretty much moot. Not to mention let's not act like Chicago is all sunshine and lollipops, there are some pretty rough areas in Chicago.

4 weeks 5 days ago He left as a free agent for a better

contract, don't see how that is a being a sellout. The fact of the matter is he did the Wings a favor in the first place by signing with them for one year when he had long-term offers on the table the year before. I don't understand why fellow Wing fans have a problem with Hossa.

4 weeks 5 days ago Do Blackhawk fans actually possess the

intelligence to come up with a a better chant than Detroit sucks? Guess not.

4 weeks 5 days ago Guess the Wings will

have to put up with atrocious officiating in this series too. Only in the NHL is Ab's hit a two game suspension, and a cross-check to the head isn't even a penatly. NHL sure is great at picking and choosing when it wants to protect the head area.

5 weeks 3 days ago It was a terrible play for sure, but it's not like

Filp has had good year to begin with. If you look at most of the Wing's mistakes this series though, alot of them can be chalked up to inexperience.

I am not going to criticize this team as a whole though, they overcome alot during the regular season (injuries, etc,) to get to the playoffs, and so far have overcome alot of bullshit (idiotic officiating, Abs suspension) in this series to force  a game 7 with the number 2 seed in the conference.

5 weeks 3 days ago And it was known before the year

even started that sloppy play was going to happen more often this year than in year's past, so I am not sure why anybody is surprised. Let's be honest this is a rebuilding year for the Wings, they may be better than what other teams would consider rebuilding, but everybody knew this team was going to take it's lumps this season.

5 weeks 3 days ago This is not your typical Wings

team, though. Everybody knew this team was going to make mistakes this season more so than in the past. Filp has no excuse for the play he made, but you can't blame Quincey for the referees incompetence. Even if the Wings don't win this game, they deserve credit for battling through adversity to just make the playoffs.

None of the NHL officials deserve to have a job next year.
