What do you mean by "benefiting"... getting highly skilled workers from Germany perhaps? The answer is no.
What perks? You've already stated Britain was in a privileged position. They have enough going for them and don't need the EU -- the EU needs them. Britain brought the cachet to the union; what is Britain giving up?
Brussels isn't setting industry quotas for the UK (I don't want this to turn into a sustainability discussion because this point isn't that -- it's Brussels' fairness doctrine and accounting principles UK industry is tired of)
VAT savings -- and in return is the EU foolish enough to start a tariff war with Britain. Seriously?!
The UK gets 9B back of their own money annually... which they can reinvest in things the EU doesn't reimburse them for either.
The UK doesn't have to worry about EU defense policy.
The UK gets their borders back... and can set EU immigration caps now without other member states telling them no.
I don't believe all of the chicken-littling of the proposed EU-USA trade pac either. That isn't even CLOSE to becoming law so any negatives or "giving-up" as you say right now is just speculative rubbish.
Imagine if NAFTA was the EU, how do you think the average American would respond if Ottawa or Mexico City could tell us how many people we could let in, what their work status is, and how much of something we were allowed to produce... or how we are to conduct our business, right down to when it is permissible to have a sale or not have a sale in a retail store (which EU law does).

I despise those two.
Kiszla isn't even a good reporter but clearly hasn't done anything athletic in his life. Outside of DC, I haven't seen someone so inept at their job but still employable.
Pagie... well, if one can turn sexual harassment is a career boost, there's not much which can be done.

Just back from London and Cardiff in Feb and March... In my experience I don't think "diversity" in and of itself is the problem for people I talked to.
Rather they are concerned about, because of the free movement between states guaranteed by a number of contemporary European laws, the affect on employment and those people getting British tax credits and not having contributed to the system.
Basically, a lot of people over there want to reign in entitlement program abuse.
Weird, I know. /s
Want a bigger "shocker"? Go to Paris.

Do you have any idea of what you are talking about? Rhetorical question -- don't answer that, as being uninformed clearly isn't a deterrent for you either.
In Nov of 2014, Cameron tried to limit EU migraton, which is tricky to navigate given the EU rules on free movement of people and Merkel took him to task for it: "Should Cameron persist (in this plan), Chancellor Angela Merkel would abandon her efforts to keep Britain in the EU"

How was Donovan "better"?
Good lord, what if Rudock said Coach H, I'm the best starting QB you have but I'm gonna be gone for 3-4 months because I really don't care about football right now. You go through camp without me okay and I'll be back in time for the Ohio State game?
Which is EXACTLY. WHAT. LD. DID!
Where's the evidence JK cut him out of spite?
Oh well, we can agree to disagree. :)

You mean the guy who took a sabbatical during tryouts and training for the World Cup, expecting the coach to hold him a position open for him to slide back into?
That guy should be the coach? Oh, I get it, you left off the /s.
I always find it funny how these boards LOVE them some Harbaugh for making everyone compete for their positions but lampoon JK for cutting Donovan. That's quite the double standard.

Thanks for the link!!!
It's a good read.
I've had such opinions for a long time now... and gotten flamed here for it previously -- not that I came about trolls but rather just want to see US Soccer succeed.
It still cracks me up folks honestly think US Soccer isn't where it should be right now. Like this is akin to swapping out a NFL coach or something. The US was darn lucky it was only 0 - 4.
If you give Bradley, Wondo, Beckerman, et al., to another coach, will they get different results?
When was the last time in the past 15 years anyone said, damn the US back 4 is solid?!
I love my USMNT but to win international semifinal games, there's a bit of work to do yet. FireRR.com is not the answer.

US Soccer needs an enema if they are to transition to the next level. I was excited because I thought JK could do that.
Arena and Bradly certainly had no idea what to do with the organization as a whole and things like ODP -- JK addressed shortcomings there from the very start.
JK was a very sexy hire but after the initial infatuation wore off, I don't believe he's gotten the type of support he needs and people don't understand the depth of the problem.

I too get frustrated with seeing Bradley, Wondo, and Beckerman out there.
But I'm talking younger. Younger than examples you have cited.
Go to England or the Netherlands (I have visited) for example and compare and contrast their youth practices with a typical U14 practice here in the States. It's a jaw dropping difference.

The federal government is the most incompetent, fucked up, unproductive, organization there is in the world.
Yes, there are pockets of goodness and talent here and there but as an enterprise, it's little more than a jobs program.
You've giving some of the dumbest people in the country waaaaaayyyyy too much credit for things they couldn't consciously manipulate or control.

I may or may not have had access to some data on the night that happened. When I tried to retrieve it based upon my boss participating in the investigation, all if it was gone. Meh. When the Panthers had Beezer they were very popular and when TB sucked, they didn't have much of a following.
If you think my point was about geography, it wasn't, and your comparison to fanbases is worse -- loyalty is only as deep as winning in these non traditional markets.
