And that's how you got the nickname Whoopin Stick I'm guessing?

Bingo! We're from West Michigan and we normally love to go to the spring game. We were looking forward to taking our 4 year old son for the first time but being on a Friday night makes it almost impossible for us to get there by 6pm.

Thanks! We decided to rent a car so we could see some things out of town if we wanted and those are great suggestions!
|13 weeks 3 days ago||Not technically spring break||
Not technically spring break as our kids aren't in school yet, but to celebrate my 30th birthday, and with baby #3 due to arrive in early August, the MGoHusband and I are taking a few days in early May and heading down to New Orleans without the kiddos. We've never been down there and are excited for a couple days away before we welcome our newest addition! While I'm here, any restaurant or sightseeing recommendations?

I live between GR and Lansing and we've got 6" so far with no let up in sight until early morning. I went out to get groceries today (my normal day) and it was hands down worse than the death storm last week. I'm not sure if the county wasn't as prepared this week or what but we live on a main road in our town and I didn't see a plow until well after noon and the county just announced that as of 4pm they were only going to plow the interstate and state highways.

105mph in a 2006 Ford Escape on I-96/I-196 heading towards GR in the middle of the night. My husband was driving and I was in labor. We live about 45 minutes away from the hospital under normal conditions and made it in about 30 minutes that night. I'm pretty sure I yelled at him to go faster but that poor car was shaking pretty badly as it was.

Ha, once a decade is right. I love that show but it takes forever in between seasons. I saw an ad for the recent Christmas special back when I was pregnant with my daughter and realized that she would be almost 18 months old when it finally aired.

It has been discussed several times today, it's just buried deep in the Fish thread.

We are due with #3 in August and my husband is really hoping for Fielding or Fritz if it's a boy. I'm fine with either, and Fritz has the benefit of being his Grandpa's nickname.
|23 weeks 5 days ago||First of all congratulations||
First of all congratulations, it's always fun to find out that first time! I've seen a few perspectives from women, but thought I'd throw in my two cents as a currently pregnant lady:
1) Be kind to your wife! Being 10 weeks pregnant with our 3rd I know living with a pregnant woman isn't always easy. She will be going through crazy changes physically, emotionally, and even mentally and sometimes she will take those out on you and she will feel bad about it. So do sweet things for her. When I was pregnant with #2 my husband would drive out of his way to pick up my favorite ice cream indulgence that our local store no longer carried. With this one I've been terribly sick and my husband has stopped almost every night on his way home from work to pick up something that sounded good to me. It's such a small thing, but it means a lot. Also, if your wife is having lots of nausea/morning sickness tell her to ask her OB for samples of Diclegis. It's a relatively new anti-nausea medication specifically for pregnant women. Most insurance companies don't cover it yet, so ask for samples. It's worth it's weight in gold! I can't function without it right now.
2) If either you or your wife like to cook take a couple days to do a bunch of freezer meal cooking about 3 months before Baby is due. I did that with my second and between meals from friends and meals I had already cooked up and put in the freezer we didn't have to really cook for almost 10 weeks. It was beautiful!
3) Take a dry run to your hospital of choice about a month or so before Baby is due. Try to do it during peak traffic to, that way when the time arrives you'll know exactly where you are going. Also, feel free to speed the whole way, if you get pulled over you'll just end up getting a police escort. My husband loved being able to drive 100+ mph in the wee hours when we were enroute for Baby #1.
4) If you guys choose to go the breastfeeding route make sure you get a Boppy, that thing will be invaluable for your wife.
5) As long as your wife is feeling well take a Babymoon. Try to go mid to late 2nd trimester or early 3rd trimester as that's when she'll be feeling the best.
6) Enjoy the ride! It's crazy and beautiful and whole lot of fun!

Ha, dairy bar! After seeing the plethora of "You won't ever sleep again" comments I figured there must not be a lot of breastfeeding MGoWives out there. My husband definitely gets a pretty regular amount of sleep because we chose to go the breastfeeding route.
|23 weeks 5 days ago||Agreed, a changing table||
Agreed, a changing table is a huge help! My father-in-law built a frame to fit a changing table pad and attached it to the top of the dresser we were going to use in the nursery. So it does double duty and we kept diapers and wipes in one of the drawers in the early months when there aren't a ton of clothes to cram in there.

Ahhh yes, the trick baby. We had one as well. Not only does it trick you into Baby #2, but it also tricks you into believing you're the best parent alive!

It's probably taken from the screen-side camera. Doesn't that usually reverse the perspective of the picture?
|24 weeks 2 days ago||I'm not too far away from||
I'm not too far away from Rockford and I was thinking the same thing. If I slap a Rams decal on the back of my nice minivan I think I could be pretty obscure.
|25 weeks 1 day ago||Yeah, I think this is one||
Yeah, I think this is one of those ideas that's better in theory. Especially now that I'm crying all the time and soon to be sending my husband on midnight craving runs. But, on the bright side once he/she is born I'll know there are only a couple more weeks until the season starts. Maybe I'll save my HTTV for some light Labor & Delivery reading.

So that explains it, my husband must have been thinking the same thing! I'm due mid August with #3...

I'll be there with my husband! I surprised him with tickets for his 30th birthday. We've only been to non-conference games so we are ridiculously excited to be going, especially this year!!

Ahh yes, it all makes sense now. And I can't say that I blame them either. Maybe the snowman was a contingency plan in case of snow?

Kudos to Harbaugh, that's a great idea! I'm actually more curious to know what in the world is all over the whiteboard behind the coaches in the picture. I can make out a snowman on the left and some sort of four-legged creature on the far right. Also, who drew them? It sort of looks like the whiteboard I have after I let my toddler at it.

Since I have the pleasure of sharing a last name with "Mo Weezy" my husband just sent me the link to this thread and informed me that if we have another son we need to name him Moritz. Seems like a good idea, considering my husbands family isn't that far removed from their emmigration from Germany.
Edited to add that the most recent text from my husband sealed the deal (even though we're not expecting): Moritz Fielding Wagner. Can't go wrong there!
|43 weeks 2 days ago||Well I'm definitely not an MGoDad||
Well I'm definitely not an MGoDad, but as an MGoWife/Mom I just wanted to say that you sound like a fantastic husband and father. That you care enough to ask about this is pretty great, so kudos to you! If your wife is as huge of a fan as it sounds like then I can't imagine she would want to miss Harbaugh's first home game. I know I wouldn't, even if I had to waddle to my seat (yes, we know we waddle, but please don't point it out to us if you value your life)! 30 weeks is definitely doable, she's probably starting to get uncomfortable, but it's not unbearable yet and a couple hours will be fine if she can get up and walk around every once in a while. I think checking into the ADA seating is a good idea too!

I'm trying to read this post at work but my boss keeps checking in on me. She even tried sitting on my computer to keep me from reading it. Where, oh where in her short 363 days did I go wrong?
In all seriousness though, thank you BiSB for this entertaining read! I cried, I laughed, and then I cried again. Finally, football. Next Thursday can't come soon enough.

Ha, thanks! I've been lurking on my husband's account for a couple years and just recently got my own. Posting can be intimidating (in a good way) on this board so I'm glad my first one went over so well.

Is it bad that my first post on this hallowed blog is not about Michigan sports at all, but is instead about my kid? If so it's my husbands fault. I was content to be a lurker until he sent me the link to this post. Before I knew what had happened the internet had sucked 30 minutes of my life away while I was learning about image hosting and picture uploading.
Here's my little man less than 24 hours fresh belatedly celebrating the 2012 Sugar Bowl win.
And here he is less than a year later cheering on his team during the 2013 Outback Bowl. He was so sure the carrot would help spur Team 133 to victory...
