co-sign.  RR is gone, Hoke is in, and almost everyone I've talked to is moving on and getting excited to see what our new coach can do.  As for needing a fearless leader, Hoke seems to be providing plenty of leadership and is getting people pumped for what's around the corner.

Re: Nicknames, Officer Hoke would be especially good considering we're bringing in a player named Justice.  If nothing else, we can look forward to seeing what puns Brent Musberger comes up with using this raw material.

I'd +1 this if I had the points.  A couple tips mgoprocrastinating at work from a most of the time reader, and some of the time comment poster:

1) If you're a Windows user, Alt+Tab gets you to a non-internet window faster than clicking away.

2) Instead of constantly looking over your shoulder to make sure your boss doesn't catch you on MGoBlog, listen for key sounds that tell you someone is headed your way (footsteps, the printer starting a new job)

Wow, typing that last one made me realize what a degenerate I've become this week :-(.  I need another hobby.

But what if the hurricane was

But what if the hurricane was named "Hurricane Ditka"?

Harbaugh to Bayside High?

A sleeper candidate to lock him up, but his previous ties to the school can't be overlooked...

Jan 1st

What did Darian Cooper mean when he said Tony Dews told him "we'll know on January 1st" re: the coaching situation?  Am I trying to read too much into that quote?

This too shall pass...

...I'm about the same age as the OP, and I have been fortunate enough to never seen Michigan endure a losing season until two years ago.

While I support Rich Rod, I know I could be wrong, and that it could turn out that he wasn't the man to take Michigan back to the top.  But that doesn't mean that Rich Rod won't have been a Michigan Man or that what he did was an affront to all that is Maize and Blue.  It just will have meant that he wasn't able to achieve the success of Bo or Lloyd (there are plenty of great coaches out there who can't make that claim).

The tradition of Michigan isn't a system, or defense, or offense.  It's a team that represents a university that we all care deeply about that has given me some of the fondest memories of my life and given me another reason to be proud of where I grew up and where I studied.  That will always be the case whether we keep the spread, go back to three years + dust, or if we eventually resort to drawing out plays in the dirt before every snap.

I know the past few years have been tough, but I believe enough in the university and our tradition to know that we'll be back.  Whatever form our return to the top takes, it will be glorious, it will be well worth it, and it will be Michigan (even if it doesn't quite resemble what Michigan looks like or has ever looked like before).

(Sorry that this post came with a little extra cheese and a side of platitude.  I do that sometimes)

Come to Cleveland Town Everyone

Oldies, but goodies that say all  we need to know about Ohio's crown jewel.

*Update 1: Their main export is now Lebron James.

**They wish they were Detroit.

True, however...

...UM winning out also pretty much sends UM to a New Years Day Bowl and sends OSU to a non-BCS bowl.

I typed this post with crossed fingers while knocking on wood.

I predict that the OSU fans

I predict that the OSU fans will be insufferable throughout the day... and that Michigan wins.

Graham (to Justin Boren)

"Family values", huh?
Sorry to see you go, but
Have fun facing me!

Agreed

And on another note... good god, I've convinced myself that we're going to win. Not that we have a chance, but that we will win. I'm probably overdosing on wolverine kool-aid and/or have officially gone crazy after these last 11 games, but we just have to win right? I mean, what other possible outcome could there be? (NOTE: I KNOW WHAT OTHER OUTCOMES THERE COULD BE, THIS IS A RHETORICAL QUESTION).

I will now knock on wood for fear that I've jinxed our team.

You might be a Buckeye if...

When spelling the name of your state, you can only get through the first two letters before asking someone else to spell the rest for you.

OSU's Self-Inflicted Curse

For those of you who haven't seen it, OSU will be wearing an alternate jersey on Saturday. http://twitpic.com/o8vxb

My theory for why we will win this game: By going corporate and wearing an alternate jersey for this year's chapter of college football's most storied rivalry, OSU has angered the college football gods. Their punishment will be to lose to an outmanned Michigan team that, while lacking talent, at least had the decency to not wear some Oregon-esque eyesore from Nike.

...the Wolverines are

...the Wolverines are eventually going to rise up and reclaim what is theirs by birthright.

And if you've been tied to their whipping post for all these years like the Badgers, it's best to be off the schedule when it happens. Either that, or get in the licks now while you can.

I love the sense of urgency here: Let's beat Michigan now because we all know they'll be good again in a few years and will then resume their annual tradition of beating us.
