That call was garbage. Johns put that man in the spin cycle and a small gust of wind would have sent him to the floor. Plays like that are why I hope Johns gets some more minutes in the tune-up games before B10 play.

Johns looks night and day this year compared to last. There's a few plays where he's been called for a BS charge or gets to the rim and doesn't convert that look unguardable. He looks way more confident and so fluid. I hope Howard keeps playing him and gives him 15-20 minutes a night to carve a role out for himself.

I'm curious what the rotation will look like in B10 play as well. I think the starting 5 ends up being Smith, Wagner, Brown, Livers and Dickinson. Brooks, Johns and Davis are your primary subs with Williams and potentially Jackson getting some spot minutes against favorable matchups.

I don't think playing Smith and Brooks at the same time is the best long term solution. I think those two should be split unless Howard wants to go "small ball" with something like Smith, Brooks, Wagner, Brown, Livers and could even slot Williams or Johns in as well.

I noticed that set as well. I think the idea is twofold. If neither of the two off-ball defenders help, then you're playing 3v3 with the majority of the court to work with. If one of the two off-ball defenders does help in the lane, Brown goes to the corner and Williams goes to the top of the arc for two additional options after the pick and roll. Ball State couldn't stop the primary action with the pick and roll in the 3v3 game so Michigan never had to go to the secondary or tertiary action. It will be interesting to see if that set is used and works against better competition.

Jumpan speedvent shorts

I bought the jumpan speedvent shorts in maize from Fanatics. I'm 6'-0", 185 and they fit really well in the waist, but are much longer than what I expected. I saw them in the store and they were above the knee on a mannequin. They fall to my knee and maybe even somewhat below if I don't hike them up a bit.

I ordered them once and Fanatics said they were sold out so they gave me a $10 credit. If it wasn't for that, I would probably return them.

Chicago aussi

South loop at work right meow, La Grange (which is french for the grange) in residence.

Posbangin' Away

Water to wash down the delicious Belecimo Del Toro sausage I just had at Atomic Dawg in Berkley. Then scotch tonight while watching the Wings game at a friends house.

Congratulations

Congrats, I'm actually designing an upgraded mechanical system for the School of Education Building right this second, good to know people actually use that building for something.

Panda

I was at the game and it was my first time in Crisler since it had been updated. The first thing I noticed when I got to my seat was the panda, way more impressive than any of the new shiny bits. Although the intro was really cool, I've never been that excited to be at a Michigan basketball game.

Questions

I'm new to this whole points system and had a few questions. Do you have to make the initial $500 donation to then get the 20 alum points, or are they just given to every alum? My wife graduated from UofM Flint, is she eligible for the 20 points? And then probably redundant, but if she is eligible, does she have to make a seperate $500 donation to get her 20 alum points?

It will be interesting what the extra points will do to the points as a whole. I graduated 2 years ago and never even thought about trying to get season tickets, but it seems like a $1000 donation could get me 50 points and potentially a chance to buy season tickets. If it attracts more people like me, then it should make the university a lot of money.
