This was the first Michigan…

This was the first Michigan game I ever attended.

I live in Maryland but my grandparents had season tickets for 40+ years. They never missed a game, except one day I got a call from my dad that Grandma and Grandpa had to attend a square dancing festival in Syracuse. They wanted to know if my cousin and I wanted their tickets. I said yes and drove myself from Maryland up to New Boston on a Friday and attended the game on Saturday.

When we were down 17 points in the 4th, my cousin turned to me and said, "Well - should we leave?" And I was thinking, "There's no way I drove all the way up from Maryland to leave early," but all I said was, "Let's see if they score on this next drive." They kicked the field goal, which kept us at the game but many people had already started to leave.

I remember how cold and windy it was. When everyone was standing up towards the end I would poke my head up to watch the play but then kneel in between plays to have the crowd block the wind for me. I was in college at the time so I definitely wasn't wearing the right clothes for a blustery Michigan evening.

After the game I remember people walking around with their hands on their heads saying, "I don't believe it!" Neither could I. My aunt and uncle had dinner reservations for us to meet them after the game but since it went into 3 OT, we missed the window and just ate Taco Bell on the way home. Totally worth it.

I had the good fortune of being able to attend a handful of more games at Michigan Stadium but it will be hard to top that one.

Has Hackett gone about

Has Hackett gone about re-creating the "old" Michigan Athletic Department by re-hiring personnel that was forced out, reducing the number of jobs in the Department and other things or has he left it as Brandon had set it up? The most obvious example is with getting rid of Hunter Lochmann and eliminating the Chief Marketing Officer position, but are there other examples of something similar happening?

Minor edit Jack Mac was traded to Montreal, not Toronto.
I'll be there. Meyer's win

I'll be there. Meyer's win streak has to end eventually, right?

I have some friends who live in the Palisades and they love it. It's beautiful and has a lot of great amenities.

As a Towson alum I can tell As a Towson alum I can tell you we actually have a pretty good football team this year. Still, it's a bad sign for UConn's season that we are now up 26-10.

2004 UM vs. MSU

My first game was 2004 Michigan-Michigan State aka "Triple Overtime Braylonfest". My cousin wanted to leave the game around the end of the 4th quarter when we were down 17. I'm glad I convinced him to stick around.

Turgeon is one of the bluntest coaches I have ever heard.

Sorry, I meant I was having trouble playing other videos. Wrong thread.

Anyone else having trouble

Anyone else having trouble playing the video? It plays a few seconds and then trips up.

I agree. The reaction Novak

I agree. The reaction Novak received when he re-entered the locker room after the State game tells you all you need to know about the respect this kid has from his teammates. What a great leader.

Team 132 football seniors might be tough, but I'd say the basketball seniors are right there too.

I believe it was a leadership

I believe it was a leadership aneurysm.

Bump. I had my doubts when this was posted, but Wes Mantooth was right on. Can we get a Muppets movie every year?

What is Wilson's number?

What is Wilson's number? Can't identify him in the video clip. Thanks!

I'd start with watching the

I'd start with watching the EPL. The Champions League is great, but it doesn't get really good until the spring time. The group stages in the fall can be kind of boring and predictable. Every game in the English league is important. It's also the easiest to follow because of the coverage from ESPN and FSC.

Soony made a mistake

I have to agree with Ives here...

"Pro prospects who want 2 test European market MUST keep college eligibility. Otherwise U wind up with zero leverage in negotiating w/MLS"

Ives goes on to say that he is getting the league minimum...

"For those wondering about Soony Saad's salary cap number, word I get is he's on a minimum salary. Got Twellman'd after leaving school early"

The funny thing is, I have always thought Soony's game reminded me a bit of Twellman's.

This is actually a really

This is actually a really good guess. I'll vote for this one.

For those engaging in the MLS

For those engaging in the MLS vs. Europe debate, I would think a move to Europe might be better in Soony's case, not because MLS is worse than the Belgian League (which is debatable), but because MLS is such a physical league. Soony isn't the biggest kid in the world and he might be able to have more freedom on the field in another league.

That being said, I always though Soony reminded me a little bit of Taylor Twellman, who was undersized but turned out to be a pretty good MLS goalscorer.

Can we officially say that

Can we officially say that this is the anti-Tressel?

We hired Matt Foley.

We hired Matt Foley.

Are we lucky that this will

Are we lucky that this will be (hopefully should be) Hoke's worst recruiting class? With all of the returning players we have, if Hoke can pull together a good class next year, will the impact of this year's recruiting class be minimal because it is sandwiched by two recruiting classes before and after?

$$$

This is more about money than anything else. MD just expanded their stadium and have yet to sell out. Enthusiasm for the program has been declining and it shows in the attendance. Once Franklin left for vanderbilt they saved $1 million and can now use that to remove fridge.

Bottom line is that football was not producing enough money and leach should instantly change that.

posted from iPhone

As a fan of both Michigan and Maryland it's disappointing to see how fridge is being treated but I do appreciate the fact that they are moving quickly on this, unlike Michigan and their coaching situation

Yeah that's it. My bad.
