The chicken GIF is amazing.

The chicken GIF is amazing.

Steve Everitt

Not only was he wearing MGoApparel, but he was also taunting ND fans in the corner of the endzone (section 15 area) at the end of the game.

Also, the band audio is decent in Section 15 (both mic'd and from the field).

I was a freshman in 98 and my first game as a student was that ND game.  All the freshmen were in Crisler watching together and it was brutal.  I thought about that game a lot last week.

I was a freshman with Comrie

I was a freshman with Comrie and also spent that year mesmerized by him (and the rest of that team and the Yost experience).  Too bad his NHL career wasn't as amazing!

I visited Oxford in summer

I visited Oxford in summer 1997 wearing a Michigan sweatshirt and was stopped by a student, asking if I went to Michigan.

I think TacoPants needs a special shout-out for calling for the ball at the end of the first and second halves.  While watching the game on my couch, I literally said out loud "Thank you for throwing to TacoPants!!!"

I lucked out and was sitting

I lucked out and was sitting in about the 5th row, just behind where Manningham caught that game winning touchdown against Penn State.  That was electric and probably the best finish I've ever seen.

I'm surprised that Breaston's performance at the 2005 Rose Bowl didn't at least get an honorable mention.  I know it wasn't a single play, but he was lights out that entire game.

Like Brian, i was in Yost for

Like Brian, i was in Yost for the A-train fumble.  I think they might have been announcing the score over the PA and everyone was pretty shocked by the outcome.

For Spartan Bob, I was watching in a house on campus.  There were screams of outrage coming from basically every house on the street.  Since we're not Spartans, Ann Arbor didn't burn to the ground that night.

After the Horror, I walked out of the stadium to find that my brother had ripped his official season t-shirt in half with his bare hands.

Can't wait for the best-of list!

i thought the same exact

i thought the same exact thing.  get up kids --> anne arbour --> mgoblog (even if this is not UM related).

donovan!

that picture of donovan at the end says it all.  finally, after 91+ frustrating minutes, the hero was in the right place at the right time, through sheer hard work and determination... and of course talent doesn't hurt.  USA!!!

I had hockey student tickets I had hockey student tickets from fall 1998-spring 2002, and just missed out on the dual national championships as a high school senior that year. I attended countless playoff games at the Joe and NCAA Regionals whenever I could (including that fabulous regional at Yost in 2003). This team in this playoffs made me remember why I fell in love with college hockey so many years ago... I went to the game at the Joe vs Miami last weekend and immediately became a fan of that little guy in the goal. Last night's loss is not his fault, but that picture just says it all. Hunwick has heart, and based on this run, he's our starter next year. And I plan to make it back to Yost for at least one game to see him play on his home ice. Goal count - 1,2,3. (And I hate that Miami ripped off our goal count cheer - and yes, I know that we ripped off our original cheers back in the early 90's, but at least we've modified ours). Great post, Brian. The post and the picture say it perfectly.
I hope this is just a symptom I hope this is just a symptom of 4 games in a short period of time with very little time to practice. I coach high school girls' lacrosse and we've had stretches of 4 games in a row without practices, and sometimes the same mistakes keep happening until there are a few solid practices to correct them. As for grit, I think Novak and Gibson need to play more. Dave Merritt is now on the radio broadcasts w/ Matt Shepherd, and he sounded like he really wanted to get on the court and kick some asses. (Shep, meanwhile, sounded like he wanted to rip his hair out after witnessing the last 4 games from courtside). I agree about the bet between the 3 teams though! Maybe Bill Martin's retirement announcement caused some sort of atmospheric disturbance?
