I miss guys like Woodson, Ray, and Foote. Just guys that had the “not today” attitude. Game changers are needed. And the thing is, it’s not always the most talented guy; just the guy who refuses to lose and refuses to make excuses.
Had a Narganasett a relative brought back for me from Hilton Head. 16oz of pure enjoyment. Sorry, I enjoy regional beers from across the country over craft brews.
The reason that Gibby is even on the air is because of the rift between Rod & Mario. Rod does not come early and prep, Mario had enough of it and management was made aware. Don’t get me wrong, I like Rod, but if a co-worker is working half as hard as you...that doesn’t go over well for long.
Did some of you even watch the game? PG doesn’t always mean defended by the other team’s PG. Brunson was guarded by Simpson only a fraction of the time. To say Simpson shut down Brunson is a far stretch. Simpson may be the best on ball defender in the country, but they had to make a switch when Brunson took Simpson down in the post.
You immediately go after Sanderson if he is available. I don’t know what kind of contract stipulations he has, but at 38, do u want this guy running PSU for the next 20-30 or UofM. Get out the checkbook and he will bring NC to Ann Arbor.
As a blue blood program, Michigan doesn’t have to go too crazy to get the desired effect. You simply have 3 tops and 3 pants: Navy, White, & Maize. You then have the ability to mix and match for “premier” games while maintaining a traditional look. The basketball team does it.
Canham offered JoePa the UofM job, this could’ve just as easily been our problem to face. I HIGHLY DOUBT this would’ve happened here to such a deplorable extent, but Sandusky was a grad asst. at PSU in ‘66 and joined the PSU staff in ‘69. So chances are if JoePa had taken the job, that sick SOB Sandusky would’ve been doing this shit in AA!
I think this ruling opens a whole new can of worms. I really support this for players playing for coaches who are negligent and are more concerned about winning than player safety. Putting the responsibility on the coach is equally negligent. School districts should be held liable when they choose NOT to spend the extra money to make sure qualified medical personnel is on the field at athletic events. That is even more criminal. So a school's money saving choice puts coaches at risk of being sued? I know plenty of kids that have tested out of protocol only to show symptoms days later. Coaches are required to watch an hour video and print out a certificate. Some states require head coaches to have First Aid certification. The bottomline is coaches are ill-trained to make concussion rulings other than to keep every kid out that sustains any type of head blow.
I don't think you are looking at the "Fire Belein" banter correctly. People just want the team to play up to it's capabilities. When you take into account the momentum this program should've had following the finals appearance....bottom line, expectations at UofM are always gonna be high. I think JB is a GREAT coach, but recruiting and on-court performance falls on his shoulders. You see all these programs at the top, year in and year out, and Michigan's inconsistency is profound.
Noticed this too. I don't know if this is a TV issue, but that would be my guess. 9 is too late. I often have to tape the game and end up deleting anyways.
When you sign on at UofM you sign on to compete against the BEST! Morris fought, but was beat out. No shame in that, most would shy away from that or transferred much earlier. The character of Shane is second to none.
You stick with what you know. With Signing Day right around the corner, there's not enough time to start from scratch. He'll bring the guys he feels can help Minnesota win. Remember PJ Fleck and his staff recruited these guys, not WMU. Who's to say that the new coach would even honor any of these commitments. Recruiting is a dog eat dog world.
All these guys are doing in San Antonio is releasing this info to 1) get clicks 2) mess with all of us. Once you accept you have no control over this and life will go on if he goes to Bama, the easier these next few days will be.
On the flip side, when will we see a group of top recruits openly "buck" Bama and collectively go somewhere else to dethrone Bama? Seems like the shoe is about to drop, dynasties rarely last this long in this era!
Relax! This is hilarious. The kid is messing with everyone. I talked to someone, in the know down at the game, and the guy reporting it doesn't even believe the flight stuff. So just let this thing unfold.
I don't think he was ever coming here to begin with. The way he's talking makes me think the letter provided a convenient excuse. Smells of mom wanting him to go to UofM. Why even coming back for the final visit?
That's not really how it works. School has a lot of say when they tell the player they are accepting his 5th year or turning it down. I'm fairly certain that Freddy Canteen had no remaining options at UofM. The school does a lot to protect these guys, so you generally won't hear all the details unless the player decides to reveal them.
Was at the game, defense was horrendous! 1/9 from 3pt land and lack of rebounding in 1st half hurt Michigan. Couple big shots in the 2nd half and a nice run at the midway point. Defense needs to limit shots and rebounds in the paint and offense needs to move the ball faster. In order to make a run this year, Walton and Irvin need to do a better job of getting good shots in crucial situations.
