But but but RichRod beat Georgia!
I couldn't care less what a coach did at a Mickey Mouse school in a Mickey Mouse conference. Put a Michigan football team on the field that progresses instead of regresses from week to week or gtfo.
|6 weeks 3 days ago||Good points, but I can't||
Good points, but I can't recall multiple screens in every game. Off the top of my head I only remember a failed tunnel screen against PSU as well as a throwback and WR screen against Indiana. Confirmation bias on my part, or have there been a lot of others?
|14 weeks 1 day ago||This reeks of bullshit||
This reeks of bullshit to me. Some asshole brah tries to be edgy thinking he's funny, rightfully gets heat for it, and then tries to rationalize his way out of the hard spot he put himself in. He wasn't trying to draw attention to anything but himself. Fuck him and his "Michigan difference" arrogant grandstanding. He's an embarrassment.
|16 weeks 2 days ago||Odd||
Odd that there's one on offense and three on defense. Assume there was a three-way tie on D or close to it?
As for Devin, he's the undisputed starting quarterback, he's a defacto leader on the team, captain or not. Nice to see some of the other guys get some official recognition.
|17 weeks 4 days ago||Re: Oregon game||
Perhaps what you're thinking of is the comment that Carr made in the post-game presser; Something along the lines of "Maybe the game has just passed me by." IIRC, it wasn't until late November that it was officially announced. The writing was certainly on the wall after his post Oregon comments, but there was nothing official at that point.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Norfleet will get more carries now, out of the slot, than he ever would have had burried on the depth chart at HB behind all the moosebacks now on the roster. Motioning him into, or through, the backfield adds another dimension for defenses to adjust to, and I don't think an occasional handoff is out of the question.
|18 weeks 2 days ago||I disagree||
I disagree. I don't think you go to all the touble of putting the numbers back in circulation, having a special ceremony for the families, a special patch, a special locker, etc etc all to just...not use them.
|20 weeks 16 hours ago||Thank you!||
Glad someone finally said it. Look, I'm excited the kid committed. I'm looking forward to him being a Wolverine, but let's give him some time to finish high school before we declare him the next Anthony Carter. Sophomore 5*'s don't always pan out. See: Miller, Ricardo.

What would you prefer, the same tired circlejerking about politics, unions, and race that comprises the discussions of this topic everywhere else on the 'net? Try Mlive.
|22 weeks 3 days ago||Was about to post the same thing||
I was about to post the same thing. Unintended consequences indeed. It makes the concept of "lighting him up" quite literal. By doing this, you're giving defensive players something to aim for, a tangible measurement of how "effective" they are at devastating hits. You best believe an NFL rookie looking for that last roster spot, or a redshirt freshman linebacker looking for some recognition and playing time is going to try to make any TE or WR coming over the middle light up like a Christmas tree.

"My little boy! Watch the little boy!"
Your little boy would be just fine if you weren't assaulting an air marshall for doing her job you stupid bitch. Teaching him some great lessons in personal responsibility there, I'm sure he'll grow into a productive and law-abiding member of society with that thing for a parent. Poor kid never had a chance.

Spend less time on SRS.
You just described 90% of the internet, it's an unfortunate reality, but not confined to reddit alone.
|30 weeks 5 days ago||Nah, 2016||
Watch them flip the schedules for 2015 and then make Michigan travel to Lincoln or Madison in 2016 (in addition to Columbus and EL) while getting Illinois or some such garbage as the home crossover.
|31 weeks 2 days ago||Sounds about right.||
I think that's a pretty fair assessment of what's gone on, though I don't think the effect has been limited to just blue-collar workers. They've certainly felt the brunt of it.
As to your question further up, about a solution. I don't know, and I won't pretend to. I don't feel it's a sustainable trend, but I share your sentiment that no good is done by simply demonizing those on one end of the spectrum. It's a more complex problem than that.
|31 weeks 2 days ago||Is the problem there on the||
Is the problem there on the top end, or the bottom end, though? Put another way, is the 400:1 ratio because executive compensation is out of control, or because the average worker's wage has stagnated (or even decreased from inflation) over those years?
|33 weeks 20 hours ago||Wow||
Wow, a whole lot of misplaced anger in this thread. This has nothing to do with YouTube/Google and everything to do with this country's insane copyright laws.
|40 weeks 6 days ago||Texas?||
Texas? You mean Rice and UTSA? You're working under the assumption that the B1G is looking at expansion from an athletic/prestige/common sense standpoint. Cable boxes man, cable boxes...
|1 year 5 weeks ago||Long term||
Long term, the numbers will belong to position groups, correct? 87 will always be a TE, 47 and 48 LB's, 21 (and 1) to WR, 2 to a CB. If that's the case I like 11 back there. It's a weird number to fit in somewhere, and that seems as good a position as any other I can think of.
Kovacs will always be #32, the fact that he was honored with 11 for the last 4-5 games of his senior year won't change that.

5:40 - after the deep ball to Gallon - crowd shot, Michigan fan wearing shorts....with black socks. Wtf mate?
|1 year 7 weeks ago||I think this is it for me||
I think this is it for me, I really do. In '05 I never said that because I knew as upset as I was at the moment, I'd be back as soon as hockey was. This time? I really don't think I will. This league doesn't deserve fans anymore.
Hell, what's really left anyway? Yzerman has been gone, now Lidstrom is too. Those two were my heroes growing up. Most of the others are gone too. Draper, Maltby, Ozzie, Homer, McCarty, and on and on. I may miss Datsyuk and Z, but for their sake I hope they stay in Europe anyway. Those guys deserve to be worshiped as the superstars they are, not spend their last few years in a crater of a city with spoiled fans, playing for a league and players union who so spectacularly trip over their dicks like this again and again.
Screw you guys, I'm going home.

I hate to be "that guy" but check the aftermath of the pass to Vincent Smith right around the 1:00 mark. Looks like Tom runs into the pile after Smith is down and works him over with his knees a bit. Classy guy...

It looks like even shallow breaths are excruciating. I feel for the kid, that's a terrible and pretty scary kind of pain.
|1 year 9 weeks ago||Finally||
I want to see Denard hang 500 yards and 50+ on 'em, because fuck those guys. Also, Michigan Defense™
|1 year 11 weeks ago||I was really upset to see this||
I was really upset to see this yesterday. The kid was clearly not alright. You don't need a CT scan on the sidelines to see this. I'm not a doctor, but as someone who suffered a pretty serious sports-related concussion I would think it's something that's pretty easy to see in a case like this. Get him on the sideline and start with the rapid-fire questions. "What's your mother's full name? Where were you born? What dorm do you live in? What did you eat for breakfast? What month is it? Who's the president?"
I don't know what really happened on the sidelines yesterday, maybe he really was fine. I just have a hard time believing that after seeing him laid out on the field the way he was.
|1 year 11 weeks ago||That's because||
That's probably because it keeps calling a dive on every play. You need to run a little play action to open up holes for your ground game.
|1 year 12 weeks ago||I don't know about that||
I don't know about that. From the looks of things, they might not give up a single goal all season!
|1 year 12 weeks ago||I don't think anyone will be||
I don't think anyone will be wearing the 1 again until after Carter gets his legends patch. There are too many...issues otherwise.
If they honor AC next year and Gardner is still a WR, I think he would be a natural choice.
Speaking of a hypothetical AC legends patch. How is that all going to work with the 21 also out there?

Realistically, how often do offensive guards go pro after their junior years?
|1 year 13 weeks ago||Very good point||
Very good point. This is why every fall we're subjected to infinite "New this fall on ABC" promos for some new wretched abortion of a show. Then by November it's promos for whatever reality show they've scrambled to put on when said show takes a crap in the ratings.
