That swimming locker room.....is epic. Light years ahead of what we have now.

Started well with the OP. Then died a quick death when Trolly McTrollerson pulled the man card ....card.
To address the troll. Michigan has quite a few swimmers at the US Senior Nationals. This is notable because we routinely field one of the best collegiate swim teams in the country and have done so since 1982. In much the same manner that I now pay attention to Jacksonville to see if Denard gets some carries, I will watch swimming over golf to watch Michigan swimmers swim fast.
If you can't appreciate the tradition of Michigan's non revenue sports excelling and think that watching those athletes over pro golfers is somehow effeminate..... I'm not sure what to tell you.

Absolutely heartbreaking news this morning. Arguably the best hitter in the game. He conducted himself with class and humility, took ridiculous amounts of time to chat with fans and sign autographs, stayed with one team his whole career and was an incredible mentor to SDSU players as a manager.
Nobody meant more to the San Diego community and he is gone much much too soon.

Players know the risk of injury when they sign up to play football or any other sport for that matter. I sustained a permanent injury while swimming at Michigan which now provides me with the gift of chronic headaches (especially in cold weather). Shit happens. I wouldn't expect the school to cover me for life. I would simply expect them to make every reasonable effort to fix the problem (which they did).
Theoretically, watch how fast high schools drop football if the proposed medical coverage rules went into effect. Coverage for life? As an AD I would just drop the program.
The *only* exception to this rule would be if the athelete sustained an injury which will prevent them from getting work or performing manual labor jobs. I.E. they are disabled.

This. Exactly this.

"It's 2014 people, just shut your mouth no matter what you feel or believe."
That was sarcasm right? Or just in the context of being a bigot....I hope?

You'd had to be some special kind of arrogant asshole to consent to allowing THAT to be recorded.
Since Don Sterling left San Diego he has been relatively quiet for 30 years. I am calling 100% bullshit on the consent and you can bet she has nothing in writing to say otherwise.
|18 weeks 1 day ago||Exactly. That said, is it||
That said, is it possible there are a few schools that treat their athletes like total shit? Sure.
Are the *vast* majority of schools providing their athletes everything they need food wise? Absolutely. I am glad to see walk ons getting added but I call bullshit on any scholarship athlete like Shabazz saying that he is going to bed hungry. Plan your meals better.
West Quad had everything we needed and no one frowned if we took food back to our rooms. We'd load up on bananas, mini cereal boxes, fruits, snacks, etc. I probably spent less than $20 a week on food and drinks outside the meal plan. I would wager most D1 schools are similar even for their non revenue sports.

We all bitch about B10 reffing but Jesus Christ that game was just fucking atrocious start to finish and mostly in Louisville's favor.
|24 weeks 6 days ago||Im curious||
How many in this thread are Michigan swim alums?
|24 weeks 6 days ago||LOL WHAT?||
1:30?!? I cannot even fathom that kind of speed. That is just lolwtf fast. So is 1:32 for that matter.

This is pretty much the only thing I read during my lunch breaks at work. Every day now for....5 years? Yeesh.
Thanks for all the content. Absolutely the best sports blog on the net imo.
|38 weeks 1 day ago||Dude||
WHY would you go anywhere in PB to watch a Michigan game!? That is total Brosef territory. Giovanni's off Balboa has always been the spot (or at least used to be) for Michigan fans to catch the game.
|40 weeks 6 hours ago||UGH||
Goddamit man have you watched more than five minutes of Shane playing? He is *not fucking ready*. Not even close.
|41 weeks 3 days ago||This||
I think for people who've read this board for a long time like myself. It started last year and has just gotten progressively worse :(
The wailing and gnashing of teeth over *every* *fucking* *thing* is too much.
edit: And a few more things.....topics like "Did we just watch the turning point Game in the Hoke era?" Get the fuck out of here and go back to scout. Jesus Christ. We are 6-2 and have one bas loss (PSU). Last year we lost 5 games and if not for two miracle plays could have easily gone 6-7.
Was anyone ready to jump off buildings and fire everything that breathes about that? NOPE! For those of you posting all this fucking nonsense questioning Mattison, how we don't score enough, "The State of our Team"....My God....how do you people enjoy ANYTHING about football? You don't enjoy wins if we don't club the shit out of baby seals, you act tepid and can't enjoy victories if the running game sucks but we still manage to score 40+ on Minnesota.
Get a fucking grip people. Guess what? MSU, despite their SHIT offense is pretty damn good.....like so many Auburn and LSU teams over the past decade. Get ready to support your team over the next few weeks because those kids deserve better and don't need to hear a bunch of fucking bullshit about how you had a bad weekend because a bunch of teenagers lost a football game.
|41 weeks 4 days ago||What I'm seeing is Borges||
What I'm seeing is Borges struggle against quite possibly the best defense MSU has ever fielded in school history with undoubtably the best DC they've ever had.
I'm willing to give this one a pass. The PSU game? Not so much.
|41 weeks 4 days ago||This year||
More than any other year I can recall, the board is going full retard after losses and poorly executed wins. Its reaching unreadable status along with boards like mlive and scout, really sad to see.
The team is mediocre with a few good players who are expected to be elite in order to cash in victories. If you couldn't figure THAT out after the first seven games and happened to expect a victory against an MSU defense that clearly delivers, you need to back away from the keyboard for a while.
It's a loss, Sparty will be unbearable for 12 months. Just mentally settle into the idea of MSU fans in full douchebag mode for a while and move on. 6-2, winnable games are still out there. Beat OSU and the season can be salvaged.
As for the coaches, I didn't see anything terrible today from them except Funk's guys of course. I saw what was probably the right game plan go up in smoke because Gardner was getting half a second or less post snap to get rid the ball on most throws.

Is absolute garbage and should have beaten Georgia the week before and did beat South Carolina this week. The SEC slurping is completely out of control.
|44 weeks 1 day ago||Let me spell it out for you||
Your argument/bitchfest was we gave up a lot of points. I just explained why we gave up a lot of points.
|44 weeks 1 day ago||Dude||
How soon you forget all the turnovers. Use your brain.
|44 weeks 3 days ago||Agreed||
So nobody was curious enough to ask why he didn't use the timeout before taking a delay of game penalty? Or why he didn't use the timeout to allow Gardner back in on the 3rd and goal situation instead of putting Shane Morris in on the most obviously fucking tailback running play in the history of mankind?
For all his bullshit about players needing to execute, coaches need to as well. I see an offensive line that can't block run plays and has been atrocious all year in that respect. When, if ever, do the coaches need to look at themselves and be held accountable for what the kids are doing/not doing on the field? I recall Wisconsin firing their O line coach last year one or two games into the season when it wasn't up to snuff and they improved overnight.
Where are the real questions? That may have been the worst presser to follow up one of the worst games ever.
|44 weeks 3 days ago||Shocked||
That anyone is predicting a win over Indiana. I see one possible win, MAYBE Iowa. The rest are surefire losses.
|44 weeks 3 days ago||LOL||
Any of you think we are going to beat Indiana? What the fuck are you smoking?
Rankings mean exactly jack shit for this team. They are completely undeserving of any consideration in the top 35 as long as our O line can't block and our coaches play not to lose.
|44 weeks 4 days ago||Agreed||
Had to close them out in regulation and they marched right down the field.
|45 weeks 4 days ago||Now||
I'm beginning to think there are certain posters on this blog who are incapable of enjoying a nice win. Relax people.....
|46 weeks 3 days ago||Schedule||
O'Brien has nowhere near the schedule Kiffin had to face every year.
|46 weeks 3 days ago||Not to Defend him||
But how the hell is what's happened at USC his fault? They are in the teeth of the sanctions right now. He was 10-2 two years ago.
|46 weeks 4 days ago||Dude||
Miller is 13/21 for 186 yards and 3 TDs in one half.... and his passes have been pretty much spot on. Not a quarterback?
|47 weeks 3 days ago||I can answer the Funchess one||
Funchess was having a really....reeeeaaaalllly bad night in pass pro and run blocking.
