Michigan 67-52 and its not that close |
| 21 weeks 6 days ago | I want to expound a little |
Let's say its true; as a media contact at ND, don't I contact the family of the deceased to make sure it's ok that her name is put in the media. If you were the family wouldnt you expect this before they used her name and pictures on television? And if you are the media, wouldn't a quote from her father, mother, family member whatever be something you want to get. Something how Te'o helped her to be strong throughout her battle? How he was a positive influence in her life? Especially since this was not a short lived story. |
| 21 weeks 6 days ago | It really bugs me |
that ND and media were parading this apparition's name through the media and the world and not one of them tried to contact her fictional family. Also, I find it hilarious in the South Bend Tribune article, it talks of Te'o using Skype with his family but never occured to him to use it with his girlfriend. |

Te'o is McNaulty; ESPN is Templeton. It is all in my notes.. |
| 21 weeks 6 days ago | Media |
So the media slurped this story down and not one of them even tried to talk to the apparition's parents? You would figure since the media hype lasted for weeks that maybe someone would try to get a quote from them or at the very least get permission to use a dead girl's photos. Or ask if the family they wanted this media attention. Did Te'o say they were all on vacation? Maybe I'm giving too much credit to the media. |
| 22 weeks 3 days ago | You are right, except you are wrong too |
For the Basketball blue bloods, Duke, UNC, Kentucky, UCLA is does not matter. But for a team like Michigan, it does because it increases the profile and generates tv interest on ESPN etc. It allows us to say to recruits to come here and you can be the best in country. Something we haven't been able to close to be saying for 15 years, which is longer then most of the new recruits can remember. Agree with the rest of your points. I'm thinking 4 regular season losses. @ IU, @ minny, @ MSU and some crap loss no one sees coming, that causes a melt down on the board due to refs, horrible shooting, or red hot opponent shooting. I may be thinking at Wisco where the refs think they are playing at Camp Randall. |
| 38 weeks 18 hours ago | I'm really surprised |
that NBC is cool with this. When I say cool with this, I mean willing to pump millions of dollars into the school. NBC with the Michigan series was either guaranteeed a USC game at home or Michigan. Both huge football traditional powerhouses with large fan and alumni bases. Now NBC is guaranteed USC on odd number years and uh Stanford on the evens? I know ND may demand that FSU be scheduled instead, but I still think thats a step down in potential tv draw from Michigan. Also, I thought the ACC was choosing the scheudule each year. I know I hate NBC because of the announcer and how they manage to shove a commerical into every posession change and heck after every kickoff Saturday. Also ND broke up with Michigan the same way a 5th grade girl does with her boyfriend. Calling LSU freak. |

In front of to gain the rediulous knowledge of him yelling Ryan/ Clark all game. Or behind him to have your kids kick him and yell down in front. |

And if UMASS runs for 250? Saw very little to be positive and Western Kentucky shut down Alabama on the ground. Yes the Hilltoppers stopped Bama for 56 yards rushing through 3 quarters. |

| 43 weeks 6 days ago | Sure criticize a kid for making life decisions. |
Maybe he doesn't like football. Maybe he doesn't want to spend the 60+ hours a week a Division 1 program requires. Maybe he doesn't want to wreck his knees or be concussed multiple times. It's not everyone's dream to play Divsion 1 football and the NFL. Kudos for the kid who made a tough decision and who is talented enough to get a track schorship. I hope random people criticizes your life decisions too Best of luck to him. |
| 1 year 8 weeks ago | I agree |
I think a conference ban is acceptable with the exception of the home state of the player. Unless the current school is also in the home state. IE no transfers from Purdue to Indiana. But banning players from a whole separte region or state is silly. Any coach or person with a job can move at will. Why is it the first school's choice. I mean if I'm a lawyer, engineer whatever and want to go to a competing firm, I can. I mean they are paying me, which is pretty similar to a scholaship in my opinion. |
| 1 year 8 weeks ago | A transfer |
shouldn't cripple the basketball team or football team either. I don't think a transfer on the basketball team would cripple the team. Most transfers are transfers because they aren't getting minutes anyway. Plus taking the scenario further. Let's say its some genius in the bio medical department. Does Michigan block that student from going to Harvard or John Hopkins. Heck, I could even claim those schools are in direct competion for research grants too. |
| 1 year 8 weeks ago | Devil's advocate |
Let's say I have an full ride academic scholorship. I decide I hate Wisconsin and want to go to Maryland etc. Does Wisconsin block me from doing that? By your logic, I accepted a full ride scholarship, You are correct a walk on can transfer anywhere, but still has to sit out a year even if he pays his own way. Beilein has a good grasp on this. That 40% of BCS schools players transfer or go to NBA. It's Wisonsin with its head in the sand, trying to ignore the problem |

Worked at AA Pioneer in Mr. White's first year. I can say he's an awesome adminstrator. Fair, and straight forward. If you think Pioneer is a prison, should see what a real prison is or go to some other large schools. Just because he doesn't let students roam the halls, and eat lunch wherever does not a prison make. |
| 1 year 11 weeks ago | FYI |
He's joing the NCAA men's basketball committee next year. So get ready for 4 years of crappy seeds out West. |

I think the drop dead date to delare and then come back is April 10th. He can declare up to April 29th. Because god hates us. |

edit the players names. The article doesn't have them. It's just speculation and unfair. (Although those were the names I heard as well.) |
| 1 year 14 weeks ago | Bilas and Gottlieb |
both agreeded. I'll take non shocking news for $100, Alex, At least they didn't talk about Beilein's 1-3-1. |
| 1 year 15 weeks ago | Holy Crap |
How did I not know this before. I grew up 10 minutes from there. Bay county represent! |
| 1 year 15 weeks ago | They should |
They should be talking about choking a 2 game lead with 2 to play. Losing both including a 15 point lead at home.
|

I knew it was one of the three. Always go with the third instinct. |

I think sitting with two fouls autmatically is silly. However, I think with starting front court player. It makes sense. Morgan is the best frontcourt player we have and due to the scarcity of 2nd half posessions, you want him on the floor offensively and especially defensively. Smotyrcz on the other hand why? He's a sub. Worst case he gets 4 fouls in the first half, then can't come into the game until 13 mark of the 2nd half. Which leaves more minutes for the guy you are truly protecting, Morgan. If Smotryzcz fouls out then so be it, then you have to buy time with Mclimans which is the worst case scenario anyway. I think part of what your overllooking is that NW would have changed tactics and went after Morgan if he would have continued playing looking for the 3rd foul. And college referees are suckers for that strategy. That being said Smotrycz could have picked up half those 14 minutes. |
| 1 year 21 weeks ago | Speculation |
It's also very complex to him as well. He may have thought he was doing the best for the University at the time but now doesn't. I geuss I give him 5th amendment rights on this one. Maybe it's so complex, it could never be completely described in the 500- 1000 words a newspaper gives. I know that Carr glare. I would never have the stones to ask him a question like that. Kudos to you. I only got it because I was dressed rediculously in a Michigan hard helmet and standing next to him at a pep rally. He's done a million great things and I hope I accomplish a tenth of what he has done. But he is flawed like the rest of us. |
| 1 year 21 weeks ago | Not what I said I all |
I blamed Rodriguez failire on Rodriguez. I said Carr not supporting the University at the time. Not going to game, talking with the team and etc as not helping matters.
|
| 1 year 21 weeks ago | First, bury the hatchet |
I support Michigan, no matter who the coach is. Carr did not even though he was even paid at the time to be an advisor. I don't remember him coming to basketball games and even sat with Iowa during an away football game. Now he is front row center in Crisler. He did not speak to his former team or attend practice once in the 3 years Rodriguez was coach according to 3&Out. Heck, Moeller attended practices and spoke to the players. And these were players Carr recruited! It's over. There are still thee camps when it comes to Lloyd: people who thinks he walks on water, those who think he is the devil and those who think it's somewhere in between. Let's all get into that group 3, where we realize Rodriguez failure was his own fault, but aided by Carr's negligence. It's time to move on. |
| 1 year 21 weeks ago | Except the ones |
He recruited and played for Rodriguez. |
