The play calling is not to blame, what game were you watching? On one series, its second and 3. A 20+ yard incomplete pass was followed by another 20+ yard incomplete pass. If that's not inept play calling I don't know what is.

I miss the days of Al Montoya, Steve Shields, Marty Turrco, or the Blackburns. Could you imagine how good some of the teams the past 10 years would be with one of those guys? Which brings up the question, why does Red have such a hard time bringing in a top notch goaltender lately?
Just as Coach B got all the praise and accolades for the B1G titles and National Championship game, he must also get the criticism for the state the team is in now, he's the head coach who makes a lot of money. It wasn't that UM lost to Xavier, SMU, and Connericut, it's how they looked doing it. They looked like a high school team. No defense, shot selection, out of position constantly, players running into each other, ect. and it doesn't look very promising in the future. These are guys who have experience and most have at least two years in the system. To watch four guys pass the ball around the perimeter and jack up a three while one below average big man tries to rebound is a recipe for disaster. And recruiting is another problem, why does coach B have so many problems when he has the resources? Nobody wants to see him get fired but the bottom line is winning and that's what he gets paid to do.
If Sparty was playing last years Baylor team with this years secondary, they'd get toasted. Teams have got to throw on Sparty seeing how bad their secondary is, that's the way to beat them.
Look, it's not that they lost to Xavier, it's the way they lost. I believe they've got to cut the rotation down to 8 or 9 max, you can't get into the flow of the game substituting all night. Using 4 guys on the perimeter on offense and using 1 six foot nine guy to rebound won't get the job done. Walton and Irvine were pretty much invisible. The defense is absolutely pathetic, or it was last night. B__ didn't just forget how to coach but if you don't have the right players in his system, you're in big trouble. I guess we'll just have to wait and hope it improves.
Don't tell me about bashing B _. He's the coach of this mess. They're are experienced players on this team. It's the system. If you can't get an offensive rebound and all you do is shoot threes, you are not gonna win much. And you can't use a 10-12 man rotation, you can't get into the flow of the game going in and out. And if one big man beats you like Xavier just did, what about a team with 2 or 3 good big men? This will be about a .500 team, good for 5 or 6 in the B1G, and those are facts wether you want to believe it or not.
