I've Made a Huge Mistake

You Are Correct Sir

This. As an aside, I think Hoke eventually took the bonus after the Sugar Bowl and donated it to charity (can someone confirm?).

I agree with the OP that Beilein should get some financial reward for winning the B1G - the '89 championship team and the Fab 5 were unable to win it, which demonstrates how impressive of an accomplishment this title is. There should be a bonus attached to winning the B1G, probably a larger bonus for winning the title outright.

All I know is Michigan has an amazing coach in Beilein - this man is in a class of his own both on and off the court. We're very fortunate to have him. Thank you Coach!

Thanks Tom

Thanks for everything Tom. Best of luck at ESPN and welcome back to Michigan!

Zingerman's > Maize and Blue

Zingerman's has the best sandwich. They have the best ingredients, the most diverse sandwich selection, and an aweseome atmosphere. It is, in no way, "shitty."

Howeva, I go to Maize and Blue more often because a) it's way closer to where I live and b) it's less expensive than Zingerman's. Maize and Blue's sandwiches are gigantic too.

I will say that whenever my parents come into town and take me out to lunch, I pick Zingerman's over Maize and Blue 100% of the time.

Good old days

This was actually my first memory of Shaq. Kazaam got me interested in basketball oddly enough and I've followed Shaq his whole career because of it.

Maybe but...

Players often grow pretty close to their coaches. Coaches are often a mentor in these players' lives and I'm sure Morgan respects his coach and wants to hear him out. That being said, please go blue Wayne Morgan!

Logged in just to say

Scott's Tots was one of my favorite episodes. The show is never going to be the same

Go Blue!

This. Hoke has set the bar

This. Hoke has set the bar high, which frankly is what any Michigan coach should do. With Hoke at the helm, we'll win the B1G again soon

Yeah, I wonder about Fitz

Yeah, I wonder about Fitz too. Seems like this kid can't catch a break. I'm still hopeful he'll be able to contribute in a big way before he graduates

This beats studying...

I watched the entire game from the stacks in the grad library. Epic Elite 8 win > reading epic poems.

Agreed.

Size is important. Not as much for durability, but for being able to see the field and not have passes batted down at the line. Being 6'4'' or 6'5'' doesn't necessarily mean your passes will never be batted (see John Navarre), but it certainly helps. Finding ridiculously quick, tall, rocket-armed quarterbacks isn't an easy task, but if Rich Rod stays and Denard continues to progress (as well as Devin), Michigan could become a dual-threat quarterback factory.

Exactly

This isn't a difficult concept. Rodriguez promised Devin a chance to compete. Devin competed, won the #2 job and, when Denard was out for minor injuries, played. Devin is our #2. That's not bashing Tate, but Devin has the tools to compete, and proved himself in Spring and Fall camp, not unlike Forcier last year. Forcier didn't have game experience and tore it up the first four games. Freshmen can compete.

Also, don't be surprised if we see Devin lining up at receiver and Denard at QB or vice-vera. Rodriguez has some flexibility here that may be utilized against Iowa/Wisky/OSU...

Paula Abdul

True that. I take everything he says with a grain of salt. Fred Jackson is Paula Abdul. A player could be terrible and Fred would still find something ridiculously nice to say. Not saying that's a bad thing though. And he's a great recruiter...

May be true...

But after Les Miles pulled some recruiting shenanigans and Harbaugh bashed his alma matter, I'm not too concerned about it. As long as Rich Rod starts winning  I don't care if he appeals to the "old guard" because one national championship in 50 years ain't good enough for me.

As an aside, these last two losing seasons don't sit well with me either...

You are correct, sir.

Gene Smith, Ohio State's AD said that divisions won't necessarily be the same for every sport:

“Just because it works for football doesn’t mean it’s going to work that way for everybody else,” Smith said.

I think Delany said that they wouldn't be the same a while back, but I can't find it...

Blind Faith

Our secondary will be fine...?

Ha, sorry that wasn't convincing. Woolfolk and JT will be solid, but we just can't afford to lose either to injury. I could see Cullen Christian getting some meaningful minutes, but having him start, especially in the beginning of the season, spells DOOM in my mind. And as long as our D-Line puts pressure on opposing quarterbacks, we'll manage.

Let's hope DRob can work his magic...
