Maybe I'm putting too much thought into it, but the Dr. Pepper $100,000 football chuck has always rubbed me the wrong way.
It's great to see the winner's joy and think that he can build a great future with the education afforded by his winnings, but what of the loser?
I see the loser's life falling apart. I see her staring at the ceiling every night, thinking what might have been-- what that education money could have made possible. I find it scary to think that her future could depend so much on whether she could throw one more ball through a stupid hole. I feel like this competition produces both a good-feel story and a hidden, tragic one.
Normally, I would see this game as a commendable loss-- the players performed well and the game was quite fun.
However, the idea that this could be used as leverage to save Borges job fills me with hopelessness. It's unfortunate. I hope this was Borges swan song-- it would be a good one.

I think I'll
Well ya know?
I think I'll just order up a few blitzes.
I predict an unnesecary number of runs up the middle as the team tries out its BIG rotation.
