Miami is the biggest surprise. I'm also surprised that North Dakota isn't better.

How is the NCHC so weak? Start of the year I thought they were just stacked. I thought they would get at least 4 teams in, and now the could get as few as 2.

Saw a game earlier and he fouled out with something like 10 minutes to go in the second half. Somehow the opponent (think it was cuse) had only shot 2 freethrows.

And there's three scholarship QBs and two walk ons. It has only mattered for the copper bowl where one of the priorities is getting younger guys more practice and game time. Should he have recruited extra kickers/punters because Gibbons can't go and Hagerup is suspended?

A bigger priority at the time was trying to build depth at OL and LB where players rotate and get injured much more often.

EDIT: Those guys all graduated if you were refrencing playing time

I agree, in all OOC play I have been cheering for B1G schools (including MSU and OSU) especially as a new conference, every win against teams like BC, BU, UML, ND etc is big come tournament time.

From being at the game these numbers definitely match up with how possession/momentum went.

1st: even with BC edge
2nd: Michigan gaining momentum but still mostly even
3rd: Michigan basically dominates possession

Top two lines seemed like they were pretty much dominant possession wise. Even more impressive when you consider how BC play, highly skilled and like to possess the puck.

As someone in the student section

it's definitely a cool kids club in section 17. My roommate and I won't sit there. I thought Thursday was the best the student section had been since my freshman year with Carl Hagelin and Co.

At Minnesota will probably be the hardest

At Minnesota will probably be the hardest environment all year, no disrespect to RIT but they're not Minnesota.

Much better puck movement in the offensive end

Much better puck movement in the offensive end than what I expected. Thought it was going to be a lot of grinding goals, but so far a lot of nice passing. especially shows on the much improved pp

Total team corsi is good for previewing a matchup,

Total team corsi is good for previewing a matchup, especially in B1G pay when we'll see each team four times. But as a post game recap I find it less useful, it simply says who carried pay which is more or less obvious by watching the game. Player/line corsi is more useful at breaking down who played well or poorly in a particular game, but is obviously more time intensive. GbG stuff is a lot more informative on the technical side.

Doesn't seem like he cares

Doesn't seem like he cares about being signed right now, probably wants to see how the draft shakes out first.

I wouldn't forget the Ducks

I wouldn't forget the Ducks in the West, have been playing very well this year and could easily give Chicago a run for their money over 7 games. There's also Montreal and Boston out east who still have stronger goaltending than the Pens, which is the great equalizer in the playoffs.

I went to bed at one and Iggy was Boston-bound, I

I went to bed at one and Iggy was Boston-bound, I wake up at 9 and he's going to Pittsburgh.

I can only assume the Pens pulled the same witchcraft from when they got Crosby, Malkin, and Fleury all at once.

The series at Yost was

The series at Yost was probably just before the really crappy part. Going into that series Michigan hadn't scored less than 4 goals in a game and went another weekend before scoring less than 3. After that the real crap began and they had a 6 game stretch where they scored 6 goals total and averaged 4.5 goals against, a trend which continued until basically Febuary.

That said I really like our chances, we seem to be playing out of our minds (or maybe just to our talent level). And Miami lost last weekend to FYS, which in the games I've seen them play is deservedly the worst team in the conference. Not to mention we have been lighting up some of the top goalies in the country in Slubowski and Hjelle and will need more of the same against Ryan McKay who is pretty much hands down the best goalie in hockey

He was not on the bench for

He was not on the bench for the second half

Good Assessment

I agree with all that you said. This team just doesn't do "the little things" like they should. The refusal to dump and chase, poor board play (better tonight), losing almost all the puck battles, unable to keep the puck in the zone (often leading to odd man rushes). These are the little things that less talented teams like Bowling Green are beating us at.

There are some players doing these consistently - Copp, Sinelli, Treais, Nieves, Kevin and Travis Lunch come to mind. But as a whole they're not done enough.

More energy overall, the

More energy overall, the problem is when we're down there's only a few guys who keep the energy up (playing physical, getting to loose pucks, holding the Blue line etc.)

So 7 goals total on 30 shots,

I'm pretty sure the player

I'm pretty sure the player has to have graduated, that's why there are no names in the game. So probably Seth Broekhuizen right?

Agreed, way too many

Agreed, way too many metaphors. Seemed like he was trying to make Bo seem like some greek god from the Odessy instead of a freak of nature athlete.

Manziel only has 1.5 sacks

Manziel only has 1.5 sacks less than Teo.

I'm being facetious, but only a little. I wouldn't say he has "some absolutely huge sacks" when he only has 1.5. How can you say he plays the position better than anyone you've ever seen when he has the numbers more resemblant of a safety than a linebacker (yes I'm aware that numbers are only a small part of defense.)

I don't think Teo is here if his back story of what he has had to go through this year isn't attached. He got in the conversation from the MSU and Michigan games right after that happened and he had monster performances.

If you make a conference like

If you make a conference like that, you're generally never gonna get a National Championship appearance, short of an 8 team playoff. Oregon only has one other great school in their conference most years and they find ways to lose, then that school (this year Stanford) finds ways to lose.

Yea he's been great, but he

Yea he's been great, but he only plays linebacker. He doesn't return punts/kicks or do anything on offense even as a decoy. Colin Klein essentially is the offense and Johnny took over for a first round draft pick, moved to a harder conference and his team is better than last year.

I hope Te'o doesn't win. I

I hope Te'o doesn't win. I love him as a player, and he seems like a great person, but as outstanding as Woodson? I don't think so. Mathieu was far more outstanding and got 5th. You can argue that Suh's season was comparable to Te'o and he wasn't even close. If he wins it, it will not be about football it will be because of his personal story and because he goes to ND.

Theory: He was sent to a secret government facility to learn to turn into an NHL ready goalie for the second half of the season.

Agreed

Can't wait for the OT:we should make a Denard legend patch to honor the next great dual threat Michigan QB!

My thought was that they'll

My thought was that they'll wait for someone really special for #1 (and #2) I think there will always be a #21 on the team and if someone gets to an elite level then we'll see the #1 jersey. But there won't necessarily be a #1 on every team.

I see you have the goal horn

I see you have the goal horn linked, I'm not a fan of it. Never thought we needed one, it's not like we need the help to make it loud after a goal.
