I would not root for Michigan State in almost any circumstance. Obviously I'm no fan of Wisconsin either. Whatever outcome will be better for Michigan is the outcome I want to see. Not really sure what that is. Can we PLEASE beat MSU this year!
because we will always have to have these ridiculous statistical debates instead of settling the football on the field. It would definitely piss me off to see Boise in the national title game over a one loss SEC/Big Ten/Big 12 program who had to fight through a very tough regular season.
Great thread, thanks for posting. This is a completely different situation than Post-Indiana game from last year. I think many of our questions relating to our team weakness will be answered during the Michigan State game. In the interim, I am going to keep enjoying the ride.
I don't deny that our defense looked terrible at times and that it was a frustrating game to watch. I also agree that we have a long way to go. My point is that after the last two seasons of misery, let's enjoy a win and be glad to be 3-0. This team needs time to grow up... as fans we can't be manic depressive, particularly after a win.
Tate is a solid QB and no doubt he was a warrior last year. I know the injury during the Indiana game was worse than anyone realized. Given the right weapons and a good offensive line, I think Tate could put up huge numbers. That said, I think the offense under the 2010 Denard is on a different level.
I'm actually pretty encourage when reading about us having to make zone reads. I think this is a natural process in the maturation of a starting QB. Denard and Devin should have the chance to exploit coverage this year given our rushing threat.
Obviously you hate to see a kid get hurt like this... hope he gets better. One aspect of the Michigan/ND match up that hasn't been discussed at length is the O line. I remember last year ND's O line was huge and experienced. This year not so much. Conversely, our O line was fantastic last week and will continue to be strong. In the NFL the O line wins championships.
The theme here is that we are getting back to Michigan Football... Rich Rod and our team this year are so very close.
"Last year, hey we were under the radar, that's a good place to be. F that! The best place to be is when expectations are high. Get used to it, it's always gonna be that way. And now let's go out and prove everybody right!" --Rex Ryan
I realize we don't have a huge data set from which to analyze, but I was really please with the bend-don't-break play of our secondary against UConn. If Roh and the D line can get more pressure on ND this week, I think the secondary has chance to look decent for the 2nd week in a row.

Here we go with the hype. I would love to see the team win 6-7 games before we hear anything more: http://denardheisman.com
Martavious is extremely happy...
