- Harbaugh never had a Top 15 class in 4 years at Stanford. Difficult to do anyway
- Harbaugh never recruited a 4 star or 5 star OL player in 4 years. Stanford had only two 4 stars at OL on the Harbaugh roster, Smith and Fletcher, who were recruited by Buddy Teevens.
- For some reason Harbaugh did not/could not recruit big numbers of OL in his 2nd and 3rd years as head coach at Stanford.
- The previous recruiting classes of Harris and Harbaugh make a 12-1 2010 Orange Bowl season kind of ridiculous.

He is 60 years old now. That's quite young to be suffering from such illnesses.
He was a freaking terror of the NFL for many years. I don't know how many ProBowls he was in during the 1980s. Almost all of them.
108 sacks over 10 year career in NFL
What college did he play at? East Central Oklahoma State, 1978. WTF man. They said he had "no business playing at the NFL level". They were wrong.
Gastineau sacking Jim Plunkett.
Roids were likely an issue for the man.

I remember watching a recording of a classic Michigan football game from the 1970s where Keith Jackson and Ara Parseghian were announcing a football game in Michigan Stadium on ABC, Michigan was running roughshod over the opponent, and the subject of Michigan's Running Backs Coach, Tirrel Burton came up.
Parseghian shared that Burton played running back from him at Miami (NTM) and explained how Burton had "made me a hero down there".
Burton played running back in college football on undefeated and one loss teams in the 1950s that weren't invited to bowl games because of black players on the roster and southern States that hosted the bowl games didn't take to kindly to this in their own "southern social customs".
One thing is for sure, Burton recruited and coached some of the most talented running backs in college football history for one of the most run-centric offensive philosophies ever.
Billy Taylor, Gordon Bell, Rob Lytle, Russell Davis, Harlan Huckleby, Roosevelt Smith, Butch Woolfolk, Stan Edwards, Larry Ricks, Rick Rogers, Jamie Morris, Jon Vaughn, Tyrone Wheatley and many others.
He was also associated with so many great coaches and players during some of the best years of Michigan football success.

That was a great 2016 Michigan defense, full of talent and snap experience.
I'm sure a lot of Big Ten opponents will believe going into 2017 "Michigan has been decimated by graduation".
It's nice to finally describe Michigan's defense as "reloading" again. Haven't heard that pleasant term much since the early Lloyd Carr era.

Reminds me of when Packer games were called by Randy Cross. That was horrible.

2006 - 59th - Walt Harris - A. Phillips (3), McBride (3), J.Kyed (3), Dembesky (3)
2007 - 45th - Jim Harbaugh - Hallick (3), Mabry (3), Hulamandaris (3), Bentler (2)

|1 week 1 day ago||OL depth looks scary, but||
Michigan took three (3) OL in 2015: Newsome, Ulizio and Runyan
Michigan took three (3) OL in 2016: Bredeson, Onwenu, Spanellis
Michigan is taking six (6!!!) OL in 2017: Ruiz, Filiaga, Herbert, Hall, Steuber, Honigford,
OL still seems really thin - 15 guys even when we include returning Cole, Kugler and Beatty.
Why didn't Michigan make OL more of a priority in the 2016 class?
Another year (2018) of solid OL recruits should bolster things up nicely though for Michigan.
Also, won't 2017 also include WR 4-star recruit Brad Hawkins (2016, back from prep school)?

for undisclosed role.
Would Greg Roman, former TE and offensive line coach at Stanford and OC at the 49ers, consider a move over to Ann Arbor at Michigan?

What a disgrace!
If you put a crap product on the field in LA or San Diego or Ann Arbor, then the results are predictable.
Los Angeles is the most apathetic city on earth when it comes to sports. The residents can barely maintain sufficient attention span for the Lakers, Trojans, Bruins and Dodgers and Angels. Adding the Chargers into the mix is just dumb.
If you haven't been to San Diego before, then I recommend that you go visit. I think it's one of the best cities in the United States. We must not be told to f#$$* ourselves!!!!
|1 week 1 day ago||Some thoughts on uniforms, not so much the fan gear.||
1. Blue chin straps were long overdue. Great addition.Never understood why it took Michigan so long (10+ years?) to change that. Made helmets even better. Much more aggressive.
2. Wasn't a big fan of the USC-like jersey numerals. I always preferred Michigan's 1971-1981 jersey numerals. But oh well. It worked.
3. The dark Navy and maize shoes were a nice change, though I prefer black shoes. I liked the blue socks for home games and the white socks for away. Worked well.
4. Hoping Michigan returns to maize britches for an away game or two next year.
5. Wolverine helmet awards were badass as always. Harbaugh!
6. Basketball uniforms sucked. Michigan should return to the 1985-1986 versions, which were freaking badass.

|1 week 1 day ago||Cal football is 550-500-31||
Best coaches were Jeff Tedford (2002-2012) and Pappy Waldorf (1947-1956).
Sonny Dykes was 20-30 at Cal in 4 years. That's not enough time in my opinion given' the situation left by Tedford.
Yes, transitioning from Hal Mumme's Air Raid over to Niumatalolo's triple option wishbone attack would take a couple years to install.
Not sure of this, but I think the last team to actually run the wishbone offense in the PAC-12 (then the PAC-10) was Jerry Pettibone at Oregon State (1991-1996). The result was no winning seasons and horrible results.
Interestingly Brady Hoke was the Oregon State DL coach under Dave Kragthorpe (1989-1990) and then Pettibone (1991-1994).

Nice work you three!
It's January in Michigan so maybe strap on that little guys some appropriate head gear:

He's only a few months old!
By the end of the season his helmet is going to be loaded with wolverine helmet awards!
I have to be the one to ask: is the open cylinder on the top for his soft spot, or for the can of beer and flexi-straws?
I have a soft spot for beer too.

YES! I knew it!!!!
