Can only hope when and if it ever happens again that the same mistakes are not repeated. Given recent human history on such matters, I'm not optimistic.

Over the last 6 games, including win over Notre Dame, MSU has only scored only 16 points in the 4th quarter.
They've only led at halftime once, against Notre Dame: MSU 15 ND 7.
In all other games they have been down or trailing the opponent by halftime.
Once knocked down, MSU usually doesn't get back up.

|21 hours 50 min ago||Agreed. That kid is a talented escape artist||
He's also 6-1, 222 lbs. He's not only quick and elusive, but he is not going down easily.
And when he does escape, his accuracy is lethal. A great quarterback IMO.
UW and PSU both missed opportunities to wrap and tackle him when he ran QB draws, or escaped pressure.
|21 hours 55 min ago||Let's just remind ourselves: We have Don Brown AND Greg Mattison||
These are great times, gentlemen.

Who is managing the game clock?
|1 day 15 hours ago||Nice work. Thank you! Two questions:||
Q1. Would the Wisconsin football game they played have been a better estimation of their offensive capabilities against a Michigan's defense? Wisconsin is currently 9th in total defense while UM is #1. Like Michigan, the Badgers blitzed a lot with both Cichy AND Watt, and held MSU to 75 yards rushing on 27 attempts (with Beedle in the lineup) for 2.8 ypc. MSU did successfully throw for 250 yards vs. Wisconsin, but also had 3 INTs (all O'Connor).
Q2. From what you've observed of MSU vs BYU (Oct 8) and @Maryland (Oct 22), as a team, does it look to you that MSU's performance is worsening? Or are they just "circling the drain", i.e. consistently performing badly regardless of who they are playing? IMO losing to Maryland like they did was surprising, and a very, very, very bad indication of current situation.
Looks like Michigan wins this game on Saturday.
But I'm wishing upon a star that these Spartans have enough gas in the tank to give Ohio State a tight game in East Lansing and....maybe upset Penn State??
|1 day 16 hours ago||Dude, you need to use some helmet stickers to cover up||
that scarlet and gray stuff:
|1 day 18 hours ago||Agreed.||
Michigan has a lot more depth, so the losses of Newsome and Clark, while significant, have not been as painful.
Hopefully Michigan can get out of East Lansing with no major injuries
|1 day 18 hours ago||No.||
Bullough's targeting penalty occurred in the 1st half of Maryland loss.
He missed the 2nd half vs. Maryland and therefore "served his time".
He will play vs. Michigan on Saturday, assuming he doesn't continue the stupid antics in the 1st half of that game also, that is.

#3 Billy Dee Williams:
#2 Michigan Cornerback Mike Jolly (1976-1979)
#1 Don "Take 'em Downtown!" Brown
|1 day 18 hours ago||"What did you SAY!!!?????"||
|1 day 19 hours ago||He can't||
O'Connor was hurt vs. Maryland and won't be 100%. Damion Terry also injured his hand vs. Maryland.
Besides O'Connor is a huge risk running the ball as he does, taking sacks and with his high INT ratio. But I agree he is far and away the best thrower on the MSU roster.
So it's probably gonna be Lewerke starting.
|1 day 19 hours ago||Probably this guy||
That's Brian Lewerke.
Redshirt freshman QB (PS#28 QB according to Phil Steele)
His friend in the photo is senior Northwestern DE Ideafi Odenigbo
Yeah... you're gonna have a bad time Brian.
|1 day 19 hours ago||I don't think anyone really imagined the Lloyd Carr transition||
would leave the Michigan football program and university in tatters by mid-2014.
But that's what happened.
Yeah...We can laugh about it now. Can't we?
|1 day 19 hours ago||The biggest takeaway for the write up was Harbaugh||
And his not letting up on the gas.
That....might be something to think about if things get ugly early.
|1 day 19 hours ago||He did a good job||
Nice to read through the raw viscera and unfiltered cynicism from an opponent's perspective for a change. Reminded me of the 2008 Michigan game previews. Weird.
I didn't find much to disagree with except perhaps the predicted score.
I think MSU gets into FG range a couple of times on Saturday and probably hits either TE Joshua Price or WR RJ Shelton for a touchdown pass.
I think LJ Scott is in for a bad day however.
I can't wait to see how Michigan's defense takes on MSU rushing attack, and cover Spartan's star WRs RJ Shelton-12 and Donnie Corley-9.
|1 day 21 hours ago||And Washington State is||
And Washington State is probably going to beat Washington this year. In a snow storm. Or torrential rain. Just like old times. Catch em napping.
|1 day 21 hours ago||Metallica would have been better. Maybe Rammstein.||
Metallica would have been better. Maybe Rammstein.
|1 day 21 hours ago||I mean Michigan DOES have||
I mean Michigan DOES have both Don Brown and Greg Mattison. That alone is rigoddamnedridiculous. Even Greg Schiano can't compete with rigoddamneddiculous.
|1 day 21 hours ago||I mean, Phil Steele mentioned||
I mean, Phil Steele mentioned but Ohio State returns a very talented team. They are just very young. I think they have a starting 22 with the least number of starts in the entire Big10. They have the advantage with game at home vs Michigan. Biggest key for Michigan over next five games is this: stay healthy!

Tom Herman's stock is still high right now. In another four weeks, probably not.
Thing is, Houston football is not performing to expectations.
They lost to Navy by 6, and then decisively to SMU on the road.
They have to play UCF (4-3) this week followed by Louisville (6-1) and @ Memphis (5-2).
I remember after their Oklahoma win that a lot of people were crapping on Houston Cougars football for their "weak" schedule.
Well, their schedule is a lot of things, but "weak" ain't one of them.
|2 days 19 hours ago||I'm worried about you guys heading up to East Lansing||
Maybe take a fire extinguisher with you.
Okay, have fun fellas!
|2 days 19 hours ago||Yeah, it's not going to be nice afternoon, Sparty||
|2 days 19 hours ago||Urban Meyer has only lost twice in Ohio Stadium||
2014 vs. Virginia Tech
2015 vs. MSU
He's 1-0 vs. Harbaugh.
Harbaugh and Michigan will have to bring their A-game to Columbus. I think they will do so and beat Ohio State.
Biggest concern at this stage of the season, being unbeaten, has to be injuries.
Thus far Michigan has lost starting LT Newsome and starting CB Clark, but hasn't been affected by that.
If Michigan can remain healthy and not lose players to targeting penalties, I think they kick the shit out of Ohio State in Columbus.
