Sparty has a past history of being unable to consistently win big games. PSU has not played anyone at this point in the big ten making their record somewhat misleading. They have Neb, OSU, and WI(in Madison) remaining on their schedule. Penn State maybe wins one of those games but could very well lose all three. WI should win out with their remaining schedule of MN, ILL, and PSU. This would place them in a double jeopardy matchup vs Sparty(if they win out). I do not see MSU beating(getting lucky on a hail mary) WI twice in one year.

I need both MI and MSU to win out, just so MSU can go the the Big Ten Championship game and lose. This would place MI in a BCS game and sparty would be looking in from the outside.
Edit: And this is apparently "off-topic" b/c you struggle with reading comprehension. Good stuff, bro!

As a Lions fan, thank you Vikings for ignoring AP in the 2nd half. He beat up on us pretty good early on. Good win for the Lions. Now, let's go an beat "America's team" next week in Dallas!

Ever since the ESPN crew decided they needed to show the 2 ND hotties multiple times in the same game. I think it was worth the wait.

We ALL saw you Jackson. Not only was that a great throw, but it was also a great play by Avilla to block the plate and hold onto the ball while tagging the runner! Simply, this game (and that play) was HUGE!

I still remember Betemit's first game as a Tiger when he essentially threw the baseball straight into the ground. That wasn't exactly the best omen from having confidence in his defensive skills. I'm not saying he's a bad player because he's not, but once again, Inge would be the better defensive replacement, especially in later innings of a close game. I think a combination of Inge/Betemit is by far better than just have one or the other, if played correctly by Leyland. That being said, we will see if Leyland can effectively utilize both of them in the right situations.
|3 years 31 weeks ago||I completely agree with you.||
I completely agree with you. In addition, Inge has been tearing it up against left-handed pitching while in Toledo. He's batting 15-for-38 (.395). Betemit is .238, 34 strikeouts in 90 plate appearances against lefties. Once again, this is a fine move. It certainly can't hurt to put Inge in the game against left-handed pitching and see what he can do.

|3 years 33 weeks ago||Initially, I was worried||
Initially, I was worried about this game when I heard that Dempsey and Altidore were not playing b/c of club commitments. However, when I realized chicharito is not playing b/c of an injury(concussion) those worries were alleviated a bit. I think it will be a close game that could go either way.
It will be interesting to see how the players react/respond to playing in their first game without Bradley at the helm. Bradley seemed to be well-liked by all the players. I don't think we can pass judgment on Klinsmann either in his first game, though some undoubtedly will complain if we lose expecting an instant change. Nonetheless, the next few games are very important for the US from the perspective of qualifying for the next world cup.

The sad thing is the way this game is going, we will end up scoring 6 more runs, but give up 5 more in the 9th. It's just 2 games, but it's hard to stomach it.
