That is not necessarily true. Just because someone has large contract, qualifying for pension benefits which includes medical and other insurance is still a big deal and motivation to stay. Personally, know for a fact it had implications in Johnson and other PSU coaches staying until after certain other items were earned.

You want a six-pack? It just takes some work but once you get a routine down it gets easy.
Get up early each morning, get some good workout gear on, (personally I like the new ones with wicking ability when you get the sweat really going).
Then go (I like to jog when possible as it increases the cardio quicker), and head to your local package store and get a six-pack. They should have several varieties to chose from, just try some and find your favorite. That's all there is to it and you're very welcome. It can also work with kegs and cases too if you pick the right package store.

As I remember it, we let little brother have some 'cuz they supplied a bunch of corn, and hand-gathered all those "cow-chips" for the fire.

SRK, From one retired navy man to another Thoughts and prayers to go out to your daughter and to you and her mother. I know it has to be tough to be parents of someone under fire and I am sure you are proud of her. I am and thankful for her service. Glad to know she is safe, and hopes for fair winds and following seas for the rest of her tour.

Don't think you want to disparage degrees at non-FBS schools. You think Kentucky has a better Marine Biology program than Cal Poly or Portland State? That Oklahoma has better advanced finance or political science studies that William & Mary or Univ of Delaware? That the optometry degree at Northeastern State in OK is less than at Georgia, (pssst. UGa doesn't even have one!)
Let's not get painting with too wide a brush here or putting on the rose coloured specs. This transfer (as will ALL but a very minute minority) is all about giving the kid a shot at a higher level of football and maybe improving his potential in the NFL draft. (or in reverse or same level school a shot at potentially increased time as a starter for someone that has been passed over.)There is nothing wrong with that and I hope it works out for the kid and it opens more doors for him. The grad transfer rule is good and allows new opportunities for the kids. Sure truth be told most of FCS schools will lose some of the best to FBS schools; while FBS will lose kids that didn't develop as expected, were buried, or had other "problems" to FCS. However not much can be done about that without hurting the potential benefit for the kids. (I believe I remember reading Adams was very mildly pursued out of HS with just 2 offers to FCS schools.)
I agree with the OP that it does smack of hypocrisy, because he wouldn't care a lick if his AD thought "we put in all this time training you and you left to seek a more prestigious coaching job"

Am in the Bay area and this is getting much play on local news and media over the last several days. The point they are stressing is not his innocence or guilt (though yes, he was stopped in act by two bikers on campus that heard him in bushes), rather the U is focusing on the safety of female students/employees for his dismissal.

Naw, Oakland's not cool its downright COLD on a whim even in summer, just like SF per Mark Twain. And outside the city center it is one sprawling warehouse district. No flavour to the communities like on east coast, midwest or south

Yes, lived in Beaufort, SC, and The Big Chill was filmed there, (partly because it is Tom Berenger’s hometown). The house; which was depicted as being on this massive plantation-sized piece of property large enough for a football game, is actually located on a corner in a residential area, surrounded by a swamp on other two sides and butts up to the road with iron fence on two sides. Amazed me how the cropped everything out for the movie.

It would suck if we lost Jordan now. Yes, it would be a strong pull for them. Many 'M' big men have stated what a strong pull Jordan was to them.

|3 years 29 weeks ago||Strong QB pack for next NFL draft||
True. On the other hand it should be a strong year for QB’s next year (Manziel, Miller, Boyd, McCarron, Lynch and Bridgewater). Draft stock would probably increase the following year.

Truthfully though, there was that guy with somewhat UofM ties that actually was in the front office of one of Detroit’s sport teams, the Tigers I think, some guy named Bo-something. /s

With all the recent attention and recruiting issues from the state, I think a UofM – Mississippi game in Chicago would be just the ticket in a year or two.

Am not an electronics guy, but friends in the airline industry inform me that near or current technology will allow cell phones to safely be used on aircraft in near future PHYSICALLY. There have even been initial discussion between the fed and airlines towards the ban removal. HOWEVER, the current sticky point is not safety but rather customer service issues the airlines would have dealing with 20, 40, plus passengers all engrossed in their phone conversations surrounded by others within a limited, confined aircraft cabin. Imagine sitting within a gaggle of teens all discussing their latest relationship issues while trying to wind down on a coast-coast flight; or someone so engrossed dropping F-bombs constantly near your kids.

Personally, I’d like it better than the Kraft Bowl. Football in December/January can get windy, wet and cold up here. Although when it moves to Santa Clara it should be warmer, but less to do than San Francisco.

Yep, not camping strongly suggests he'd rather go someplace else.
|3 years 30 weeks ago||Disagree||
Disagree. Could they both be lesser known players that develop, possibly, but there the similarity ends. I have been following their QB search quite closely. They got him as the 6th or 7th option after several others had turned them down for or favored other schools (Watson, Heard, Allen, Harris, Kizer, Darlington, Peavey). His offer didn’t even exist until the last two made their decisions. Stribling was offered long before we got bypassed by other DBs last year. Also, as I remember, a vocal group of us were worried that he’d use a spot a higher rated DB would need.

|3 years 30 weeks ago||Small dive, good food||
Also one of my favorite, a small local bar/restaurant in downtown Portland. I think it was called J's Oyster. Place was a local hangout on the piers between some massive very "touristy" white ship converted to Italian restaurant (don't go!) and the Harbor Fish Market. It was recommended by the locals and is literally that just a bar with great food. The view is nothing to rave about, just a row of tables along a window and U-shaped bar. Wife had a cup of lobster stew and a classic lobster roll. The stew, much like chowder, was thick, and full of large chunks of lobster. The roll had a toasted bun and large perfectly chilled lobster chunks. I had the seafood bouillabaisse, very tasty with huge chunks of sea scallops, clams, mussels, shrimp and lobster over just enough pasta shells. Last ate there a couple of years ago and still judge seafood soups/chowders/bisques against it.
Also, if you get a chance head up to Acadia National Park with a pair of hiking boots and if you are an art lover I highly recommend a quick stop at the Wyeth center-Farnsworth Museum, Rockland, ME and Olson House, in Cushing(of Christina's World fame) Wonderful selection of eastern painters including all the Wyeths, Homer, Inness, and Bellows. (Then you can always hit any of the "Lobster Pounds" on the way back. Had never had as large a lobster before.)
Edit: Yes, enjoyed grace and loved fore street also, but have always had a fondness for local divey places with good food.
