We always do the normal Memorial Day thing (beer, barbecue, swimming pool) but we include the families of some of my friends who never made it back. It's a very joyous occasion with a lot of laughing and a lot of fond memories are shared.
Who thought we were going to call a timeout we didn't have during the stretch near the end when we were having trouble getting the ball past mid court?

But I've seen more than my fair share of mangled bodies and gruesome injuries and my guess is he'll be able to fully recover. As bad as it looks, it's still just two broken bones and a severe laceration. Given that he would have had immediate top notch medical attention, any vascular issues would be mitigated and it's doubtful there was catastrophic damage to the connective tissue. The wild card would be the extent of nerve damage. I hope for the best for this kid.
Is really taking off here in Northeast Ohio. We played 2 games last year and @ 35 years old I managed to survive. I will say my neck was stiff for a couple of months after all the other bumps and bruises went away. But I would also say if you get the chance to play, take it. No one had any major injuries and we all had an absolute blast.
besides, any SOF training is designed to challenge mental toughness and stamina. I don't know how much your mental toughness can be challenged in 4 hours. Having said that, I'm sure the kids love the opportunity to spend a little bit of time w/ the instructors.
Appologies to the OP but thought some may find it interesting to read a link about Tom Stroebel playing the lead role in Mentor's production of "Titanic". I'm drinking Johnny Walker Black and I'm drinking it with coke zero because I'm starting to grow tits. http://www.news-herald.com/articles/2012/03/29/life/community/nh5294125…
But I keep hoping the cavs trade Sessions to the lakers & Darius would be included in whatever comes back. Would be a nice fit playing some minutes behind Irving and he has the size to guard 2's while playing with Irving.
I like reading about some of the more unheralded "glue" type players. Maybe you've already tried this Magnus, but would you have any interest in looking up some of the kids who transferred out? Would love to hear what someone like Sam McGuffie has to say.
but beating an Iowa wrestler is always good. I respect Iowa, and their style obviously works for them, but they all wrestle the same way and it gets hard to watch. It's fun to watch a guy like Kellen counter that Dan Gable- constantly moving forward-head slapping-push out of bounds-look busy style of wrestling. Congrats Kellen!
Molk will only be considered by teams like the redskins who run a zone scheme, and if they already have a guy they like they aren't going to carry 2 true centers. I agree with you on Martin, though. I think he'll make the best pro out of our guys coming out. I think he'd be a great fit in Indy and they seem to like B1G/Michigan kids.
