Off top a little bit

This is a little off topic as it applies to the basketball game and I can't start my own MGoBoard post, so here it is....

I drive a cab in East Lansing, so I pick up lots of random drunks, brahs (they REALLY do say "brah" a lot) and hotties with festering STDs, however, last night I picked up a kid who was a back-up punter at MSU from 2008 till this past year. He was a pretty nice guy so I figured I'd ask him something that's been eating away at me for a while. What's the story on Jerel Worthy's Missouri-hating tattoo?? Well, he laughed and asked me if I had seen his Dayton, ohio tattoo. I hadn't. He proceeded to tell me he has an ohio tattoo highlighting Dayton (his hometown) and the location of Dayton on the map tattooed on his body is at least 300 miles away from where Dayton is actually located. His tattoos have apparently been a source of much ridicule in the Michigan State lockerroom as well as on The Blog. He chalked it up to Worthy just being a, "bad tattoo getter."

I thought that was worthy of a post, no pun intended. Most of my encounters leave me more annoyed by the common MSU student every second, but last night was a funny anticdote that had me laughing to myself for the next hour.

JEJ

It's also James Earl Jones's birthday. GO BLUE!!

Kevin Westgarth

Not sure what he has to do with The Game, being a Princeton alum, but here he is getting his ass kicked.

UConn!

Where did you hear anything about UConn? I slept in late today, so maybe I missed something. And even if I did, why would he ever consider the UConn job in the same thought as the Michigan job?

Does this count as OT?

Does this count as OT?

Why don't we go after

Why don't we go after Dantonio and JoPa too?

Football thieves

In 2003, while living in Okemos, a MSU runningback stole my bottle of Aqua Di Gio. I found out who it was because my roommate was a tutor for the football team and heard he was bragging about it to some of the other guys on the team. Thought I'd share.

Also....

.... How ironic is it that the most injury-prone guy on the team won the Iron Man trophy?

Creepy!

The creep-factor is at a 13 on a scale from 1 to 10.

Good clean fun

I love Tate, but that shit is funny. FWIW, I didn't see the first post either and I gave me a pretty good laugh :)

+1

Gretzky

I'm not a fan of the NHL retiring #99 league-wide simply because, he didn't play for every team. If they're going to do that, they should retire #4 too, since Bobby Orr was better anyway.

Dreaded

He has dreds, so I guess that means he is solidly Michigan right?

Estimation

Estimation

I miss him.

I miss him.

Deeper meaning

I'm not sure if there was a deeper meaning to Tate's hug, but it looked like he was working his ass off on the sideline all game! It was good to see him finding ways to contribute, he will get his chance on the field in due time, I'm sure.

Good point

Sparty no!!!! (at the uniforms)

Why do they change their uniforms so much?

In fairness....

They do have have iconic helmets (though not as awesome), but I 100% agree with the rest of what you said.

Michigan 2nd to ND?

I thought Michigan was only second to Notre Dame in Hollywood movies made about them.

Where'd you find a virgin?

Where'd you find a virgin?

Great video! I would switch 1

Great video! I would switch 1 and 2 around though. Other than that, 100% pure columbian awesome.

Nebraska and MSU

Nebraska and MSU will be a HUGE rivalry over who is the best at growing stuff on a farm!!

MSU?

It's funny that he said MSU though, who has neither....

Minnesota wished they were the Texas of hockey If you mean that Minnesota is to hockey as Texas is to football, in that; Florida is better than Texas for football like Michigan is to hockey, then yes. Michigan has more hockey talent than any other state in the country (47,934 registered hockey players in Michigan, 44,498 for Minnesota). Minnesota is easily the second biggest hockey state in the country, but Michigan is the undisputed Texas of hockey.
In addition to spelling In addition to spelling Karsch's name wrong, he write "omit" when it should clearly be "admit." Not to mention other obvious grammatical errors. Not one to normally nit-pick grammar, but he seemed like a douche.
Hahaha Pat White had passing skills? That's why they ran the ball somewhere in the 70 percentile while he was there right?
A professional with integrity A professional with integrity like Lou Holtz?
Just wondering When do the recruits graduating get to campus and start practicing?
MSU? I wouldn't call MSU a big name football school with a good hockey team. They are neither. I like the Minnesota idea though. They're about the same as MSU in football, but they have great hockey in Minnesota. Michigan and Minnesota are the leading hockey states in the country based on the number of registered USA Hockey players. BC would also work out well. MSU would even work out well in terms or filling the stadium, but it's unlikely to be an exciting game, just an entertaining beat-down.
It wasn't raining when they It wasn't raining when they muffed the kickoffs. At least it didn't appear to be on TV.
I'll second that. Hold off on I'll second that. Hold off on that until you've won the next 17 games in a row, until then, you are the little brother. Cute though, nice try.
Herbstreit=LUCIFER, Holtz=??

As bad as Herbstreit is, I think that Holtz has to be the biggest homer of all the football commentators in college and the pros. Aren't they supposed to at least come off as unbiased? Holtz is a crazy old man and a disgrace to all football commentators. Am I the only one who hates Lou Holtz or am I just as crazy as he is for thinking he sucks?

Thanks for the replies. I am Thanks for the replies. I am a better fan now.
I need someone to educate me. I need someone to educate me. What exactly is the difference between an official visit and an unofficial visit?
Cripple Fight!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkOPLIsu_-M
ND and Michigan being a ND and Michigan being a cripple fight is the perfect description of that game. I can't stop laughing. I need to watch South Park now. I needed a laugh after the game.
It seems they did something It seems they did something right for Breaston to break all the returning records. But I think that was mostly due to Breaston's crazy speed. I don't remember Michigan ever being a special-teams heavy weight, hopefully something is done about special teams so we don't always need some freak (Howard, Breaston) to make the speacial-teams exciting and dangerous.
I watched that a long time I watched that a long time ago, but after just seeing it again and on the eve of the Michigan Football season; I think I'm ready to "KNOCK SOMEONE THE FUCK OUT!!" That is intense!
I think you can listen to I think you can listen to play-by-play on mgoblue.com.
Isn't it a little early for Isn't it a little early for Pac-10 Conference play? What's up with that?
Thanks, unfortunately for me, Thanks, unfortunately for me, I don't have BTN. Bummer.
Is there anyway that anyone Is there anyway that anyone knows of to watch this online somewhere? I missed it and I need my fix, like now-ish. Thanks.
P.S.

I thought the sequal to Wayne's World left a lot to be desired, hopefully Michigan doesn't have a sequal like the movie. (Oops on misspelling Wayne's World in my first post, stupid typos)

Watne's World? I definately feel like I'll be Garth standing in the control-room of the studio when they first get picked up on a network station. I feel like I'm looking down on Wayne's basement, only that's not Wayne's basement." It will be surreal to to watch a full Big House, with the same uniforms and helmets, the same traditions and pregame interviews with former players; only the team will be fast, playing a strange brand of football that has only caused anxiety for everyone and they could possibly lay an egg (which up till last year, I never thought I'd see in a season opener). Should be interesting and I'm really hoping we aren't all gonna die!
