This was an amazing story…

This was an amazing story and especially resonates because I was a student during the Harbaugh QB years, and of course was at this game.

I had said (until this year) that the ‘85 team was the best I ever saw. You hit on the common threads between ‘85 and ‘23 - Harbaugh and toughness.

Well done and many thanks! You made my day!!!

Just Win I've completely had it with this. We need to win. Now.
Boarding at LAX Waiting for get on a 100% full flight to DTW and I'm ready for a BALL GAME!!!! My first in 2 years!!!!

Was just watching "The Was just watching "The Rivalry" - 1969: tosu defending National Champs, 50-14, etc. We have new coach. The Game is dubbed Upset of the Century.

Fast Fwd to 2015. During the spring and summer some of us drew parallels to 1969. Wouldn't that be a great upset?

Doesn't feel like such an upset anymore. And that's good.

Beat Ohio State. Go Blue.

Was there too. Freshman year. Was there too. Freshman year. The Shh Wave was surreal that's for sure. And the Slow Wave and Fast Wave. I had forgotten about those. It was (and is now) a great time to be Michigan fan.
Not hard to believe at all. I Not hard to believe at all. I was there - a junior. This team was awesome. The defense was over-powering. The line was regularly in the backfield before the quarterback! The loss to Iowa was the most crushing loss I've ever experienced in 41 years as a Michigan fan, student and grad. I still think this was the best Michigan team I ever saw.
Rule #1 Rule Number One - in warfare as well as recruiting - don't mess with kids.

Good on ya Brian. Behind you 100%. Keep the faith.

Well Done 132

Don't know what else to say. And it's late. Well Done gentlemen!

My freshman year!

4 things I'll never forget

 1. Having MMB return from that loss in Seattle with The Wave.
 2. Bo hating the wave, which resulted in ridiculous announcements not to cheer during the play, The SHHH Wave, The Silent Wave, and (my personal favorite) The Silent Keys on 3rd Down.
 3. Bergeron's FG - never have I seen anything airborne more that SLOW.
 4. The hit Rogers took on the drive leading up to the FG. Collective "ohhhh" from the stands.

And I liked Steve Smith - but I was 18!

After Action Report: Bucknuts On The Plane

Kudos to MGo Travel Agents - full of win indeed!

Family Bucknuts was very well behaved - no Cooler Poopers thank God! Mr. Biceps took a good natured jabs very well. They were returning to Germany, serving their country over here (Army), so maximum points for that. The baby was wearing blue and seemed to be benefiting from not growing up in Ohio. Frau Bucknuts is expecting #2 (another boy).

All in all - a great flight.

Best advice? Stay Classy. That was always the plan.

Thanks Mgo friends

Time to turn off all electronic....

Of course

Hoody and ballcap!

It's the year Among many other landmarks this year, my 12 year old son has gone "all in" this year. And I'm glad.

I'm proud to tell the stories from the past. My first game in '72 with my Dad. Seeing Dennis Franklin and Ed Shuttlesworth mismantle Minnesota 42-0. Watching Leach and Lytle run the option. And so on.... And I'm proud to think of the future we have with Coach Hoke and the standard set by the seniors of Team 132.

And I'm honored to share this with all you Michigan Men. I was lucky enough to attend and graduate. But "all in" also means anyone who wants to be in is welcomed. It's the spirit, the values, the passion, the hard work and the commitment that make us all Michigan Men.

Go Blue. And Beat Ohio. Now. Right now.
Ok. I'll cover this ONE MORE TIME!

It is THE (bam) MOST (bam) IMPORTANT (bam) GAME (bam) ON THAT SCHEDULE!

Now, do you think you've got that? GOOD!

All this and Engineering too?

Having also made the bus ride to North Campus in dogged pursuit of a Michigan Engineering degree, I have nothing but the upmost of respect and sheer awe for Mark Huyge.

It's one story of many that earned our respect. Thanks for the great work to share it with us!

And to these seniors... WELL DONE GENTLEMEN! Your commitment and performance this year is A+ Michigan Man stuff. Go forth and pound some Buckeyes on Sarurday, and enjoy every blessed minute of it.

If it helps...

...play the damn music! I love MMB as much as anyone, but if the tunes mean better dudes, I'm all for it!

Oh that SUCKED!

I'll never forget that game - last home game of my senior year. Ricky Fougie (sp?) ran all over the damn field.

As I stood on the field and watched the band I thought... "Really? This is how it ends?"

Depressing thread.

Drew's an Idiot. And a Genius.

After seeing him call out The Hokester on the National Chamopinship bit, I just had to see what he'd write. And I was not disappointed.

Michigan doesn't possess the cast iron stomach necessary for doing everything necessary to field the best team for contending for BCS national championships, as they do in the SEC. U-M can talk a big game about paying big salaries and truly being a national player, but in the end, U-M opted for what's safe, solid and sturdy.

It was when I read this that I understood where Drew was coming from (really - hang in there). He saying that we don't have the "guts" to cheat, lie, sell our soul, recruit thugs (who'd sell their ring for a 'Tat, yo). It's said with the same taunting mock bravado as the insecure bully on the playground - "You don't have the guts to pull down her skirt". Or the gangland wanna-be - "You don't have the guts to pull the trigger".

Ok Drew - you're right. We don't. We're different that the SEC in more ways than one. We're Michigan. We got the integrity and class not go to those lenghts (depths?) to win a national champoinsip. It's not who we are, and it's not who I want us to be.

If that means we win a few less National Championships over the years than others - I can live with that. Thoughts?

And it was with this revelation that I began to understand why I liked what I saw yesterday at the presser. And why I think Brady Hoke is better for Michigan that The Hat or my old classmate #4.

Thanks Drew. You have finally served a useful purpose for me. Now crawl back into your hole!

The pitch to from Leach to Lytle...

When I was 11 and the '76 team was rolling, I loved seeing those two run the option. That was Michigan Football to me.

BTW - is it me, or is Ohio State week been one with tragic passings?

'85 D - The Emotion

I was there in '85, my junior year. That was still the best Michigan team I ever saw. Yes, better than '97. If it wasn't for that damn field goal vs Iowa....

The D Line and the overall dominance was just like I remembered (thanks for the video BTW - awesome). But the thing I forgot, or maybe now see in comparison is the emotion. Did you see the way Garland ran from the back of the play to congratulate Hammerstein after the sack? That was a TEAM. I have grown to appreciate the passion and never say die effort of our 2010 team, so I'm not saying it's lacking. Just that the emotion stood out after my 14 minute return to 1985.
