We got a Blu-Ray player that came with a home theater system. It was a gift so that's the only reason we were able to get it. Surround sound + Blu-Ray = Win

The Diag, the Arb, exterior

The Diag, the Arb, exterior of Angell Hall, the Grad Library (inside and out), the Wave Field on North Campus, the Pond outside the Music School... really, anywhere would be pretty. These were just ideas of when we had ours done.

Over/under on how long it takes Daryl to kill off Merle?

The in-laws live in The in-laws live in Rochester, and the light display is beyond impressive. You can see it from space. Your best bet is to leave the car at the brewery and walk to Main Street because the traffic is monstrous.

I live in Norman now and the university is filled with guys like the one in the video. Like I said in an earlier reply, OU is every bit as white as you'd think it was.

As someone who lives in Norman, I can attest that OU is every bit as white as you'd think it is.

They look like some kind of gaudy, indecisive golf ball.

Not to open an old can of

Not to open an old can of worms, but it was never up to the director as to whether or not he could or would dance. It came from the administration who at the time (when YouTube and Facebook were just starting to become popular) felt that the possibility of "suggestive" dance moves being posted online would ruin the hockey band director's chance of employment at other schools.

However, I and many others debate the suggestiveness of a white guy flailing around to Blues Brothers or any other hockey band song.

I'm rooting for (gulp) MSU, I'm rooting for (gulp) MSU, but ONLY because I put them at #8 on my college pick'ems and I really want to make 8 points off them. I think both teams are awful.
Drove in from OKC We left Norman after I got home from work on Friday and it's a rather uneventful drive between Norman and the Dallas area. We got stuck in construction traffic about 30 miles north of the Red River behind a Dodge Charger with Alabama Crimson Tide plates. The traffic in the Dallas area is much scarier than in OKC and we haven't been in Dallas for a couple of years, so it took a while to get my bearings. We stayed at the Sheraton near the airport (thanks, Hotwire, for the sweet deal) which was also hosting some kind of workshop weekend for parents with unruly children, but thankfully, we didn't spend a lot of time there. Parking at the stadium was surprisingly easy and we met up with friends quickly. The game was... Well, everything has already been established about that. We were able to get out of our parking lot very quickly and back to our hotel as fast as possible because all I wanted was a shower and forget about the day. The day after, we had to drive the 3 hours back and all I could think of was napping.
GO BLUE from Norman, OK. If

GO BLUE from Norman, OK. If Oklahoma can win their bowl game, and if Ok State can win their bowl game, we can win our bowl game!

Sorry for the double-post.

Sorry for the double-post. Itchy fingers.

When I was a senior in the marching band, Bo came to speak to us during Band Week that August. I remember being in awe of him, as were all of the other MMB members. When he passed, my grandma left me a voicemail, saying how sorry she was, as if I'd lost a member of my family. It's a testament to him as a person that, five years out, it's as if he never left.

It was a pretty bad little

It was a pretty bad little storm, lots and lots of lightning. It took a while to come through, and probably drove a lot of people away.

That's how everybody in

That's how everybody in Norman is going to feel on Sunday. It's like someone died and every slack-jawed yokel with 30 seconds of radio time will be calling for Bob Stoops' head.

I live within earshot of OU

I live within earshot of OU Stadium and believe me, there is no worse fight song than Boomer Sooner.

I was a Dearborn student and

I was a Dearborn student and was able to be in the MMB. You have to pay the lab fee to cover costs, but it's like auditing the course and I didn't get credit for it like Ann Arbor students did. There were four other Dearborn students who were also in the band at the same time I was.

My fiance spent a week at UMH

My fiance spent a week at UMH because he went into cardiac arrest, and I was nothing but impressed with everything in the hospital.

I'm a MI native currently

I'm a MI native currently living in Norman, OK and the OKC area has had 50-some days of above-normal temperatures, and three to more weeks of straight 100+ degree days (some have been 110+). If you want to know what that feels like, it's like putting your face in front of an open oven. My AC is set to 80 and that seems like a relief when compared to what's outside. When we came back to visit relatives in the Detroit area last week, it was breathtakingly fresh feeling. I can handle the heat, but the humidity here is killer.

Yeah, it's still in there.

Yeah, it's still in there. Just sayin.

Buckeye girls are ugly and

Buckeye girls are ugly and fat...

MDen does have a registry;

MDen does have a registry; friends of mine got married three weeks ago and opened the only wedding registry in MDen history. So now there's a precedence.

Friends of mine got married

Friends of mine got married two weekends ago and they registered (no joke) at MDen. They are the only people in the history of the store who have registered there.

When I was in student

When I was in student section, I was always partial to "Ohio resident".

I was in the MMB at the 2002

I was in the MMB at the 2002 M/OSU game. OSU won and their fans stormed the field. Their students climbed on the south goalpost in an attempt to bring it down; they were summarily brought down off the post with the pepper spray cannon. The only bright spot of the day was watching OSU students fall off the goalpost like flies who had been sprayed with Raid.

Grew up in Livonia and was a

Grew up in Livonia and was a Michigan fan since third grade when my MSU graduate of a teacher brought us all cups from a Michigan game (must have been a UM/State game). My sister was a State fan out of spit but now she's a Michigan fan even though she goes to Western. My parents never went to college, but for some reason, they had two sweatshirts with Snoopy and Woodstock on them that said, "Michigan Cheers!" I distinctly remember the 1997 UM/OSU game because I watched it while making out with my boyfriend of the time (it was freshman year in high school, football and making out were the two most important things to me).

The fiance and I are graduates of this fine establishment, were in the MMB, and are now currently hardcore fans deep in the heart of Soonerland.

It's because it's 3.2% Blue

It's because it's 3.2% Blue Moon, and not full strength.

Michigan: A+

MSU: B to

Michigan: A+

MSU: B to B-

Oklahoma: C. It's not really a part of the surrounding town- which isn't much of a college town anyway- and the stadium is just plopped in the middle of campus. And there's no visitor parking to speak of.

Northwestern: B because of its location on the lake.

Central Michigan: D

Central Oklahoma (grad student there): C, looks exactly like Central Michigan

Ohio State: F times infinity

Bowling Green: C to D

Eastern Michigan: C

Western Michigan: B to C

Michigan Tech: B, small campus and gorgeous yet remote location

Northern Illinois: C+

Indiana State: D to E because it's in Terra Haute, Indiana

Notre Dame: Strong B

Colorado: A to B, like someone said, like Michigan only with mountains

Albion College: C, appealing quaint small college feel but the town smells funny

North Texas: Okay, i've never visted it, but I've driven past it and every time I do, I point out that they have a more-than-epically-horrible football team.

Not to mention that it's in

Not to mention that it's in the middle of Oklahoma...

I listened to the presser and I instantly said, "Drew Sharp sounds like a needle-dick". So... note to DS: practice sounding less like a needle-dick. I know it's difficult when you have one and there isn't anything you can do about it, but it would make our lives just a touch easier.

Q: What do Oklahoma and pot

Q: What do Oklahoma and pot have in common?

A: They both get smoked in bowls!

What. The. Hell.

What. The. Hell.

I did my student teaching at CC when Mike was a senior, and the guy is legit. A very standup kid and I'm glad he's still the same.

The Deja Vu banner flew over

The Deja Vu banner flew over the stadium my freshman year (2001) and after 9/11, planes couldn't fly over the stadium during games so you saw it less and less.

I'm a fan of Mint Chocolate

I'm a fan of Mint Chocolate Bailey's and hot chocolate, or peppermint schnapps and hot chocolate. I've tried a hot toddy before and seems a rather high-end way of keeping warm for hockey.

Are you THE Bob Krentler?

Their fans throw beer bottles

Their fans throw beer bottles and rocks at the MMB... I can't imagine what they would do to the average Blue fan who isn't guarded by a cadre of Ohio State Troopers.

They don't even have to use

They don't even have to use radar guns anymore to pull you over for speeding. Ohio state troopers have been "trained" to recognize speeding by look alone.

My SO arranged Good Old Hockey Game for the hockey band bones while he was in the Hockey Band. This made me smile.

They zoomed in to a disappointed OSU fan at some point and he had a line of fake OSU tattoos in a line on his second chin. I shrieked in horror.

For what it's worth, you did

For what it's worth, you did spell sanctimonious correctly.

There's something to be said

There's something to be said about a marching band (Wisky) that wears cleats instead of real shoes... I'm not sure what that something is, but they sure do march funny.

The last time we played

The last time we played Wisconsin at home was in 2008. We happened to win, 27-25. However, it was one of the worst games I'd ever watched because I laid in bed all day, suffering through the monster hangover-to-end-all-hangovers... that morning, I'd thrown up on my living room floor, and then my kitchen floor, and survived through the game by eating saltine crackers and drinking tiny sips of water.

Anyway, I hope the game tomorrow does not make me feel like throwing up on my living room floor. GO BLUE.

T-Shirts

That last History t-shirt idea isn't horrible... it's definitely the best of the worst. I have good ideas but do not have the technological prowess and Photoshop know-how to create better t-shirts.

That is the most effing

That is the most effing ugliest jersey I have ever seen. Burn it with fire.
