What do you think is underhanded about offering jobs to coaches he believes will make him successful in the future? That’s exactly what he, and anyone else in his shoes , should be doing. The coaches can choose to stay or go. And Michigan could also choose to make them offers.
Jim Harbaugh is a professional (in the literal sense of that word). His job is to do what he thinks gives him and his employer the best chance to succeed in his current job. He loves his previous employer, but his job is to do what he thinks is right for his current employer.
So he will get at least $1.5m this year with the bonuses noted in that article ($50k for each regular season win over 8, plus $100k for having a top 2 B1G scoring offense).
But for most teams they would add at this point, the per school payouts would go down. Notre Dame is the only likely exception to that. Otherwise they are diluting their current school payouts, or creating a conference of unequal payouts, and that has downsides.
I agree, goblu330. I shake my head at all the people who watch this team and then comment here that they are unwatchable.
The team has definite weak spots and some players can’t or won’t play at a level required.
“Fans” should know this by now and either accept them for what they are or take a break from following them.
On the play where Bell stretches out past the sticks, his foot is already out of bounds (shown on TV on a different replay). I too thought the refs missed this play too until I saw that other angle.
Do we know for sure that he’s getting the full buyout, though? Wouldn’t be surprised that there’s a negotiated settlement. Or potentially he’s fired effective October 1 but relieved of his head coach duties now.
As my username implies, I'm in the Kalamazoo area and have loved it. Cost of living is low, cultural things to do in the city, easy to get to Lake Michigan, or Chicago/Detroit (and about 2 hours from Toledo). Lots of smaller lakes around here too. Even with the recent housing price increases, you could get a nice house with land for $350k.
How much you trust your team to foul before the act of shooting
How good your team is at rebounding
It’s easy to second guess specific decisions based on outcomes either way. But a coach has to decide all of the above with his specific team in the specific situations.
Have been to many (~10) all inclusive vacations, ususally in Cancun or that area. We once went to one in Punta Cana, DR (and this year are going to Aruba for the first time). We have always enjoyed them - I prefer the all inclusive approach rather than having to decide (and pay) for each meal and each drink individually. We have never had a problem with water, ice, etc. We didn't enjoy our one time to the DR as much as the other places, mainly because it was more populated with Europeans, which meant more smokers than our other places. It may have been the particular resort as opposed to the DR itself. Hope you have a great time.
You are a better person than I. I too have never turned them off (even/especially during an OSU debacle), but I bailed when it was 14-0 and Wisconsin was driving to make it 21-0.
I (am apparently fortunate to) live in an area where Midwest Energy (now MEC) provides fiber. I have the $79.95 a month package which is awesome. Along with a $40/month YouTubeTV subscription, I get all the channels I want streamed and have saved a bunch from what I was paying Comcast.
Until the team actually loses a game (and even after), there is really no reason to be so concerned about this team. Does it have vulnerabilities? Sure. So does every other team. This team is SO FUN TO WATCH if you stop worrying about exceeding expectations and just enjoy them. They play defense. They hustle. They play together as a team. They enjoy the journey. We should too.
I used the app 99% of the time, and find that to be much superior to old MGoBlog, and still a bit superior to new MGoBlog. The app interface was much cleaner (to me), easier to see and navigate new posts and MgoBoard entries. OTOH, I didn't post much, and didn't care about upvotes, downvotes, avatars, etc.

“People can rationalize…
“People can rationalize anything“
including that paid professionals should act like fans

Harbaugh is not gutting the program. He is building his staff, as he should.
Should we hire Kurt Anderson to be OL coach too when Sherrone gets promoted?

And I still agree with paying him more.
Adjust the NFL rules by allowing the initial coin toss winner to not only defer to second half, but also defer to a hypothetical OT.
Had the same problem on Safari mobile until I cleared my browser cache. Now all is as good as a JJ pass.
Fair point.

And both are fun poker players.
Incorrect. The PAC-12 guarantees four year athletic scholarships in all sports.
Happy Easter! Currently in Athens, Greece.
A bit older, and have a few more episodes than you are looking for, but definitely worth it:

Interesting. Where did you find that offered as a prop?
Third toughest game will be OSU. Fourth is probably PSU.
(1 and 2 are the playoff games)
Also retired IT guy. One possible guess is attempting to access or change grades of players.
Huh? Seeds 1-4 will need to win three games for a championship (+1 from current). Seeds 5-12 will need to win four games (+2) for a championship.
Not defending that, but most of them came late after the game was decided.
if you have to be bothered by something, that’s about all there is.

I thought so, too, until I saw the replay with his foot out of bounds as he stretched forward.

nope. I don't see Juwan emphasizing development of any players, especially backup point guards.
Isn't Nebraska in our rear view mirror too? (They may have schemed to remain out of the view of the mirror, however).
If you really think a post on MGoBlog jinxes the team, then you shouldn't have any hot takes either.
In the Spartan calendar, Izzo is the shortest month.
His Twitter account says c/o of 2021
Okay, but they were LITERALLY one win from being LITERALLY one more win from being in the playoffs in two of those three years.
This seems very situational involving:

It’s also telling that he hasn’t done his family podcast in quite a long time.
I'll bear with you, but not bare with you.
He was +17 in 37 minutes; the team was -15 in the 16 minutes without him.
Made homemade bagels in mine today and they were great. Then TexMex egg rolls for dinner

When did “disclude” replace “exclude “? Coincidentally that’s also the point at which I stopped reading.
I totally get Painter as a candidate. But is it better to be a mess and then have a strong turnaround, or (mostly) dominant from the start?

Not to be THAT guy, but I hope that's all it takes.

I know that the OP means (rightly so) in D 1, but have to note that my D3 Kalamazoo College Hornets are also 2-0!

Actually, Merriam-Webster states that either can be used. https://www.merriam-webster.com/words-at-play/down-the-pike-vs-down-the-pipe-idiom-usage
