This is correct. Peppers is a terrific return man, and his ability to fair catch everything ensures he will be undervalued by statistical analysis, but Likely has a better track record to date.
|2 weeks 5 days ago||The reason he left, according||
The reason he left, according to his trainer, is because he was not used how he wanted and expected to be used:
"I was in Coach K's office when he told Derryck he would be used in a ball screen offense," Edwards told 247Sports' Jerry Meyer. "Looking at this year's team, I think he knew he wouldn't have the type of team to follow through on that promise. Derryck was in on 20+ ball screen situations this year, and in comparison (Providence freshman) Kris Dunn was in over 250+ situations ... to me, he was lied to."

I mean, he's defintely not the GOAT, or even close to it, but wp% isn't really the best indicator.

From my understanding, Beilein limits what the coaches can do on the recruiting trail, and they are frustrated with that, and that is why they both might leave.
If you look at the bigs we've recruited like Donnal and Doyle, Bacari would rather have recruited other players.
That said, I could be way off on this.

@ ND, vs UM, and vs OSU are likely losses.
A team like Wiscy could easily beat them as well.
Its not likely they lose more than 3, but saying 3 losses tops is kinda laughable.

A better team means more ticket sales and better tv ratings.
Any money the Tigers lose in revenue is more than made up for by the ever increasing franchise value of the team.
With the new area they're setting up with the Wings new stadium, they will only benefit even more by having the Tigers be good, even if it means the team itself doesn't report an income.
|14 weeks 4 days ago||The Tigers franchise value||
The Tigers franchise value grew 65% last year.
The average MLB franchise grew 48% last year.
The cost of WAR is going to jump. And in the Tigers situation, where they will be fighting for the pkayoffs, each additional win becomes more valuable.
And I would imagine, given he is entering his prime years, that he will outperform 7 WAR over the next two years.
If he does that, he will opt out, because that will be his last chance at a long term contract. And with the inflating contracts, he will get more opting out after 2 years than he would by taking the option.
This is a 2 year contract, on a player in his late 20's. It improves the Tigers chances greatly for the next two years, and will most likely be off the books for when the 2018 FA class hits.

And a top 15 state for 3/4/5 star recruits, though as you mentioned not one of the better states for recruiting due to the instate competition.

So much this.
The stats stay the exact same, they don't get any better.
Anybody who doesn't think a player is hall worthy one year, and then does the next, is a clown who clearly lacks the intelligence to be an entrusted HOF voter.

|17 weeks 3 days ago||Past performance is actually||
Past performance is actually entirely irrelevant when talking about recruiting. That is because there there really are no past performances. Gary has not committed anywhere, and his recruitment is 100% independent of any other. So the hit/miss rate on previous recruits suggests absolutely nothing about the chances Gary picks Michigan.
