Gibbons was doing something other than thinking of brunettes?
|2 weeks 15 hours ago||What did they have to go on||
Imaginary conversation- Kugler's why is the interior of your Oline so bad? M coaches well were trying to run an offense to fit our talent and we're not great at it, but wait til next year when we can install MANBALL!
|2 weeks 1 day ago||Don't fool yourself||
DB got rid of the wait list and replaced it with an interest list that cost $500 to get on. If we really had a wait list they wouldn't be able to sell all these 4 game packages every year and still have tickets left over to sell to the general public.

The last time I saw him he was getting blown off the ball on first and goal which resulted in Iowa's game trying TD. Nice to know that the staffs backup plan for a 5 star top 10 overall player is n unranked undersized Dlineman. I hope the best for Brady, but please don't give the Mike Martin comparison because of wrestling as Martin was also highly ranked on the gridiron.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Hate to question your reasoning||
But Nebraska's and Northwestern's D were both extremely vulnerable and they held us to 13 and 9 points in regulation. Narduzzi has owned Borges and gave the rest of the conference the blueprint on how to shut down this offense. Yes, we scored some points last week but didn't have one long sustained drive that put points on the board.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||You're giving Mattison way to much credit||
The D got us back in the game against PSU with pressure but with the game on the line he backed off and let them march straight down the field. Nebraska jumped out to a 10-0 lead and the D held them scoreless until until their last drive with the game on the line. Yesterday he helped us get ahead with pressure then the D gave 17 in the second half to a bad Iowa O. I got to watch a walk on Dlineman get blown off the ball on first and goal on the game tying TD.

There are 1,000s of players that can make highlight dunks. GR3 gets abused on the defensive end and still hasn't shown the ability to create his own shot. Why someone would use a draft pick on him yet a first rounder based on his play is beyond me. His potential is sky high, but eventually that needs to translate to production on the court.

If Winston is charged with a felony he will be suspended immediately.
|3 weeks 5 min ago||We would have scored more||
if we could have converted on third down. Really, I would have never guessed that. Maybe Al should call better plays so we can convert on third down. Nothing better than a zero yard drive resulting in a >30 yard FG especially being down 6 at that point. As much as I hate to say it, Michigan football is becoming unwatchable.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||You realize||
Guiton is a senior and Braxton can leave after this year. That doesn't make me think they are set for years.
|3 weeks 3 days ago||Being awful nice to Levert||
Looked like a stud against inferior competition and a dud in the teams first game vs a real team. GR3 is shaky at best as a main scorer. Mitch looked good for his first game. I think they are going to have some serious growing pains as they try to figure out their identity.
|3 weeks 3 days ago||The D is so good||
That they didn't stop PSU or Nebraska on their last drives of the game. Otherwise, we would be the worst one loss team in the country.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||We would be 8-1||
if our D closed out the games against PSU and Nebraska instead of giving up TD drives and were 6-3. Can't say I blame the kid for picking Bama.
|4 weeks 1 day ago||Not as insulting||
as saying Nebraska just copied MSU's defensive strategy. If for 3 years you haven't been able to solve A gap blitzes and your offensive stats keep going down against said D what coach in their right mind wouldn't just copy what MSU did successfully. Yes, Nebraska blitzed more than you've seen on film because Nebraska's coaches saw film that said you had no answer for it. I bet every team left on the schedule blitzes more than our staff has seen on their game film. Just figure out a way to solve the problem!
The two screen passes we threw for a combined 50 yards is a good start, but then the so called genius never called one again. Hey a play that works lets put it in our back pocket for later in the game. Oops the games over and I forgot to call it again.
|4 weeks 1 day ago||The formation||
allows the Nebraska defender to agressively blitz because there is no fear of a pass to Funchess who is ineligible. This is part of what Nebraska's defenders were talking about by tipping plays. No OC in his right mind would cover up a WR allowing the D an advantage and the aggresive blitz. This is not Kerridge's fault and the counter would be to simply allow him to blitz and throw the ball Funchess (can't because he's covered) or to Kerridge. Of course, Borges never did this because he doesn't counter anything which is evident by three years of total failure against A gap blitzes.
|4 weeks 2 days ago||Unless we are playing Minnesota||
Then Borges breaks out all the gadgets. The debut of Devin/Denard and the tackle over. Not sure what Al has against the Gophers but he sure likes to let our other opponents to prep for stuff by debuting against Minny who we really haven't needed to use it against.
|4 weeks 2 days ago||Regarding Hand||
at least he doesn't play on the offensive side of the ball.
|4 weeks 2 days ago||My favorite||
you have to rep what your going to see and we've done that. For 3 years this staff hasn't had an answer for A gap blitzes, but they repped for it according to Brady.
|4 weeks 2 days ago||Did Mattison really do it in the NFL?||
or was it a result of Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Terrell Suggs, Haloti Nagota, and the rest. It looked like Ray frequently changed the D while on the field especially against Peyton Manning.
While Borges deserves lots of the blame, we would still be 8-1 (worst 8-1team in the country, but 8-1 never the less) if Mattison and the D came up with stops against PSU and Nebraska on their last drives. We came back in the second half of the PSU game by pressuring the freshman QB then stopped and allowed them to march down the field by playing "prevent the win" D. Pretty much the same against Nebraska giving 8+ yard cushion on fourth and 2 and having the same freshman DB victimized in both games.
|4 weeks 3 days ago||You are so wrong||
If they have 8 or 9 in the box because they know what is coming your 6 maybe 7 blockers can't block everybody. Therefore the likelyhood of success isn't very good.
While I'm not a Hoke fan I refuse to believe he is so dumb about football that he actually likes the play calling as he stated yesterday. Borges called two screens yesterday and they went for 23 and 27 yards. He must have forgot about the play working as we never saw another one. That is a major issue especially since screens are one of the ways to ease defensive pressure.
|4 weeks 3 days ago||When is the play calling going to change?||
Or is Borges just that stubborn and Hoke to dumb to know any better. This staff hasn't had an answer for the A gap blitz since they got here. Nebraska took the MSU game film and said hey this works and they have no idea how to stop it. We ran two screens that resulted in gains of 23 and 27 yards and then never ran another. Borges sucks plain and simple. Funk's Oline is way worse than RR's 2008 line that had very little experience and even less talent. How much should we appreciate Vincent Smith for his ability to pick up a blitz at 5'7" 168lbs.
|4 weeks 5 days ago||The West Coast Offense||
is no where near "manball". Please put that phrase out to pasture.
|5 weeks 3 days ago||seriousy?||
In 2008 RR had Schilling and four guys who had never started a game in their career. They were all lightly regarded and had Threet/Sherideath at QB. Funk is a total failure as an Oline coach in his time at Michigan and Borges is Narduzzi's Bit*h.
|7 weeks 5 days ago||Maybe if the play calling wasn't so predictable||
The line wouldn't look so bad. I'm not trying to say changes aren't needed, but when a monkey could easily guess that Borges is going to run power into a stacked box on first down the Oline is at a distinct disadvantage. Is Al our Charlie W???
|7 weeks 5 days ago||So is this||
the new Borges scheme called "tackle missing"?
|7 weeks 6 days ago||Wouldn't of had to worry about it||
if he sent pressure. The D dominated the second half by pressuring the QB until we went into the prevent the win D at the end of the game.
|8 weeks 22 hours ago||Night game against Nebraska||
in 2018 YES!
|8 weeks 1 day ago||Because that is what RR would do||
and we don't want to have to have a quick paced exciting offense because it might upset the blue hairs and big money donors. This may be the only OC in the country that refuses to take free yards when they are presented. Is it his stubborness? Maybe Hoke should put on a damn headset during the game and tell Uncle Fester to stop passing up easy opportunities instead of 30 rushes for less than a yard per carry.
|8 weeks 2 days ago||I understand the blame for Borges||
But why no blame for Mattison and his prevent the win D at the end of regulation. Hackenburg strugglred when he was under pressure and the last drive we sat back and let him pick us apart.
|8 weeks 3 days ago||Try to win the damn game||
instead of putting it all on the shoulders of a kicker who was having a bad game. As much as I want to blame Borges, Mattison using the "prevent the win D" at the end of regulation was just as infuriating. Hackenburg had picked apart our 3 and 4 man rush most of the game, but struggled when we brought pressure. So we sat back in zone D and let him wait until his WRs broke open. Dumb!!! Hoke should have put a headset on and said enough of this play not to lose crap to both of his coordinators!
