"Northwestern fans can be both heartened and disheartened by the loss to Minnesota just like how nineteenth-century resurrectionists were heartened when they pried a heart from a freshly-buried corpse and then disheartened it when they sold it to a disreputable anatomist."

They will not have a significant road win and got rolled by Oregon. RR put the nail in Sparty's coffin when Arizona beat the Ducks.
|5 days 13 hours ago||That is funny||
because wasn't Will moved to the offensive side before Hoke got here and then was switched back. The player Will switched sides of the ball with was Q and they didn't move Q back so they shorted themselves a potential Olineman. Which made Q's lack of playing time his last year even more baffling.
|5 days 15 hours ago||What a waste||
if he can play this year he should. Do you really expect him to be here 4 more years?
|5 days 15 hours ago||No it is not||
Just leave your D on the field.

No way Michigan gets the ball back. Half can't end on a defensive penalty so any type of penalty on M gives PSU an untimed down. Plain stupid, but not as stupid as having Norfleet deep on the late punt where PSU took the safety. The only way PSU gets the ball back is a fumble so why not totally eliminate the possiblity and not have anyone back. Any good HS school coach knows this yet Hoke puts somebody back to return the punt. Dumb and dumber! When will we see dumbest?

does what he is supposed to do, which would be attack the ball at its highest point, it is a pick. Thankfully he didn't.

Hoke had those players for three years but it is RR's fault. Apparently Hoke must be a terrible builder of men because in three years he couldn't do anything those that RR had for a year or two at most. Funny how Molk, Martin and RVB who spent most of their careers with RR but were recruited by Carr weren't problems, but Gibbons and Lewan who spent most of their careers with Hoke are RR's problems. Just STFU!

I didn't see one single pass go into the stands like at Nebraska.

I thought all hope went out the window when Bellomy came in. Somehow DG once again managed to gut it out and help the team win the game.
|1 week 3 days ago||Harbaugh?||
Ross wants Harbaugh to coach the Dolphins. Maybe he also knows Harbaugh would never coach here with Brandon as the AD. Why not support Brandon and eliminate a possible competitor.
|1 week 3 days ago||Well then||
maybe Hoke needs to start eating before games!

they spoke highly of position coach Brady Hoke. They have had no experience with HC Brady Hoke and apparently the former players love for their DL coach is overshadowing their sensibility when it comes to our current HC.

Will Hackenberg go for 600?

Shane to three guys that play in spread offenses. All you have to do is compare Denard's passing numbers as a soph in the spread against his numbers under Hoke.
|2 weeks 12 hours ago||Stupid me||
I thought you meant getting 6 yards on the return.
|2 weeks 12 hours ago||I'm pretty sure Minny||
ran it down our throat so I don't care where we are ranked. ND and Rutgers threw it at will. Anybody else having a hard time watching a DB wearing #2 getting toasted regularly?

score manball second series nothing. Memories of Utah.

setting in with the offense, but those guys were players. DB not so much so.

But does Brady have anything to do with the game plan? I seem to remember a story about our O running Iowa's O to get our defense prepared. We also seemed to run a lot of under center that game. At least in the first half, but came back in second half running shotgun only to fall short.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||Nuss stated||
he has done it both ways. He figured it would better the first year to be on the sidelines so he could be with the QBs and see their response not just hear it.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||Stop with the young excuse||
There are other teams with Olines as young or younger that don't suck as bad as we do. How come RRs 2008 O (the least talent O I can remember in my lifetime) could move the ball despite having one player who had seen any time as a starter, Schilling, and Threet/Sheridan at QB?
Nobody fears Hoke because they know all he is going to do is stand on the sidelines and clap like a cheerleader. He is a sad excuse for a HC at this level and a lot of us suspected that when he was hired.
If Jabrill is healthy they need to install some wildcat plays so maybe there would be a little excitement in the stadium once in a while. I know that is putting a lot on the young man, but as Desmond said he is the only one in practice trying to be great and I'm afraid this staff is holding him back.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||Its one less guy?||
So in other words, Utah has 10 guys to block our ten and then there is.....

A medical staff can not pull a kid off of the field. What do you not understand about that? Hoke failed miserably and the medical staff on the field also failed miserably. The students in the stands saw it. Justice Hayes signalled for them to come get Shane. The nuerologist in the stands saw it and was on his way to the field. Per reports, Nuss tried to get Shane to go down so he could be evaluated. When the ref asked Hoke if he wanted a TO when Shane was being put back in it shows that they had an idea it wasn't a good thing.
For both Hoke and the medical staff on the field to have no idea that Shane may have head trauma is laughable at best and criminal at worst. The man makes over 3 million dollars to be the captain of the ship. The play was replayed on the big screen. If you don't think the original head shot did the damage then seeing the back of Shane's head bounce off the turf may have did it. Either way, what happened is totally unacceptable and as the Captain of the ship it is on Hoke.
What in the hell have you saw the last two year that makes you think Hoke can turn this around? The uninspired play, the lack of halftime adjustments, the ill advised game plans, all the clapping Hoke does, or is it the fact that this is the only team in my life that has let its QB lay on the field after taking a cheap shot and not do a damn thing about it.
This is the school I graduated from and love, but I wouldn't send my kid to play for Hoke. Can you imagine the field day opposing coaches will have on the recruiting trail with this? This is problematic as, besides clapping, recruiting is the only thing has done well
|2 weeks 4 days ago||They didn't exactly come to Shane's aid||
after the cheap shot last game either. I have never in my lifetime not seen teammates especially Olineman come to the aid of their QB. Where is the fire and fight?
|2 weeks 4 days ago||Its always been this way||
I remember one of his first first presser where he said something along the line of- the quarterback is important he touches the ball every play. All I could think of was who does he think he is talking to a bunch of idiots?
|2 weeks 4 days ago||We haven't score a TD||
on them in two years.
|2 weeks 4 days ago||Stoops first two years||
3-8 and 3-8 was 1-5 before getting canned with a QB that is now starting in the NFL his last year. If you are basing this of Stoops 6th and 7th years then yes similar records except RR 2-0 in bowls while Stoops was 0-2.
|2 weeks 4 days ago||But I don't remember not scoring a TD||
which is something Hoke and company hasn't done in two years. I also don't remember losing the Brown Jug even with a walk on QB. I most certainly don't remember getting shut out by anybody. I even remember being able to run with the football with the least talented O that I can remember in my lifetime.
|2 weeks 4 days ago||Serious question||
I love the University and wouldn't send my kid to play for Brady after Saturday. So what do we have to gain by actually keeping Hoke and getting our back sides handed to us every week all the while looking woefully unprepared.
