FWIW, I think the center believes the NT is dropping off in zone coverage after occupying him with an initial rush. It's a pretty standard zone blitz technique. But the center is young and inexperienced, so he thinks he should go pick up another guy rather than staying on the spy. It's an understandable mistake, because maybe he sees that in practice but the scout team NT drops deeper. Obviously, he needs to play that better, but it's not as WTF is some might think.

a) I get that, but I have a hard time believing it's a difficult fix. I mean, I'm not capable of doing it, but I don't think it would take a rocket surgeon.
b) Perhaps the underlying question/motivation might be the long-awaited upgrades to the site. IIRC, there was supposed to be an overhaul before the 2015 season, and then it was suggested an overhaul would occur before the 2016 season began. Presumably, the embed issue would be fixed with the overall site upgrade.
I'm not complaining. I know how tough and frustrating it can be to upgrade my own site. I'm just saying that people's expectations may have legitimately been set at a certain level, and now some might be wondering what the holdup is.

Right. There's a lot more traffic on the board.
But I think the above poster is saying, "How much more traffic would it generate if somebody can embed in the OP, as opposed to embedding the video in the first comment or just linking to it?"
If the lack of embedding in the OP isn't discouraging traffic, then there's no incentive for Brian to fix it, except for the mild annoyance of having people ask questions about it.

Well...yes, his name was on our radar, but not at the forefront.

The film quality isn't better, but the coaches do usually get full game film instead of just a few minutes of highlights.
|1 day 21 hours ago||I don't think they||
I don't think they necessarily like Reid better. He's just a different option. The coaches have been after Bell for longer, so they appear to want him more. Bell could actually play WR, S, or LB at the next level, so he's a more versatile option. Reid is probably a LB only, though he might be able to play a couple LB positions (SAM or WILL).

That was last weekend, AFAIK. He might be back this coming Saturday. I haven't heard yet.

I'm sure they will. Those visits usually get confirmed later in the week, since they can just hop in a car and drive 1 or 2 hours to get there. These longer distance visits get confirmed earlier since they involve airfare, hotels, etc.

I think it's just that they like his film and he fits that hybrid SAM role. The other guys are more inside linebacker types.

Well, he's taking an official so anything is possible...but I don't think it's much of a shot.

There are exceptions to every rule. But if you know that 99% of left-handed QBs fail and only 80% of right-handed QBs fail, then you're probably going to avoid lefties if you have a choice. (I made up those numbers.)
|2 days 5 hours ago||I don't necessarily think||
I don't necessarily think there *will* be any commitments, but I would keep an eye on Jordan Anthony and Shanon Reid as potential commitments. Most of the other guys are leaning elsewhere, longshots, or have insisted that they're going to wait and take more visits. Markquese Bell is a guy who I think we have a really good shot with, but he's said that he wants to take more visits.
|2 days 5 hours ago||FWIW, I'm not sure on Jeter.||
FWIW, I'm not sure on Jeter. He said a couple weeks ago that he would visit Michigan this coming weekend, but then he committed to Notre Dame. Despite Notre Dame being 1-3 and losing to Duke, I'm not sure if he's still keeping an open mind or not.
|2 days 8 hours ago||Has anyone else read "The QB'||
Has anyone else read "The QB' by Bruce Feldman? There were some "experts" in there who argued that left-handed quarterbacks are, uh, deficient, and some coaches won't even recruit them. It's an interesting read if you ever get a chance. There are some passing mentions of Devin Gardner, but not a lot of Michigan-specific stuff.

a) Cardale Jones won a national title. Maybe he's not an NFL starter, but Urban Meyer isn't an NFL coach. So I'd say he did okay with Jones.
b) Regardless of when it happened, Meyer ran his spread offense with Leak, Smith, Jones, and also recruited John Brantley to Florida. He also recruited Joe Burrow (another "pro-style" QB) to Ohio State.
The point is this: Just because a non-affiliated website like 247 Sports deems someone a "pro-style QB" doesn't mean he is indeed that thing. If that were the case, Brandon Minor and Obi Ezeh would have been fullbacks, Rashan Gary would be playing DT, etc.

a) It worked out okay for Cardale Jones, at least for a little while.
b) "Pro-style QB" is used loosely sometimes. Sometimes those guys can run, too. For example, Dylan McCaffrey is a pro-style QB, but he's also an adept runner and his brothers are running backs/receivers. You don't need to be an elite runner like Braxton Miller to run OSU's offense.

Yeah, I posted it on Sunday night. The site went down last night, but it's back up. I'm not sure what happened. It was just a regular day of traffic, so it shouldn't have crashed because of an overload of visitors. Oh well.

Yep. I figured this was coming. He'll probably end up at Kentucky.
Akron Hoban is also the home of Todd Sibley, Jr. and 2019 OG Nolan Rumler, the latter of whom was on campus this past weekend and looks like a Michigan lean. Sibley was also an OSU commit at one point and flipped to Pitt over the summer.
