Glad I could be of service.
|7 hours 39 min ago||All of those players would||
All of those players would have been seniors, anyway, except for Bryant. They do not add to the size of the 2015 class. Counting those 5 guys, we would have had 86 scholarship players this year (so you know someone would have had to go to to get down to 85).
A 13-member senior class means that you have 13 scholarships to fill in February. A 9-member senior class with 4 unused* scholarships still leaves you with 13 scholarships to fill in February.
*All scholarships have to be allotted, so all that means is that 4 walk-ons will have their tuition paid for.

Yes, that's the scholarship count for 2014, which shows unused scholarships (4) and the seniors who will graduate (9 altogether, which includes Gardner, Ryan, etc.), and it adds up to 13.

Just so I don't lock your post, Crazy Canuck, here's the active link. I guess yours got cut off:

Exactly. A writer who can't write is like a teenage driver; he might get from Point A to Point B, but it's not going to be pretty.

|13 hours 5 min ago||LOL||
Ummmm...okay? I don't read GBMW, I've only visited about twice in my lifetime, and I'm doing just fine without their info.
So I guess I'll keep being a dick about it.
I guess you showed me, huh?

Right now Michigan has roughly 13 spots open (9 graduating seniors, 4 open scholarships) for 2015. It will probably expand, but that's where we stand right now.
As for Don Bosco...he's an elite talent you can't afford to pass up, regardless of numbers.

Well, Rosen and Stidham are pretty much off the board...
I guess it's time to offer Kyle Kearns.
|16 hours 53 min ago||Stidham never seemed that||
Stidham never seemed that interested, and he just committed to Texas Tech. Don Bosco is not a football player.
We're probably only taking one quarterback.
|16 hours 54 min ago||Michigan had two practices,||
Michigan had two practices, and then they went on spring break. That's why it's scarce.

There's a reason we learn grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc. in elementary school.
You calling someone a "douche" for pointing out poor grammar is just as judgmental as someone pointing out bad grammar.

I'm not sure that your opinion has been vindicated. The "history of Michigan football" is quite lengthy, and there have been some bad coordinators. Also, Borges had a couple pretty good seasons (2011, 2012) and some record-setting performances (Gardner, Gallon).

I don't think Speight is Nussmeier's ideal quarterback, but he has the arm strength to push the ball deep, which is a part of Nussmeier's plan. I think Speight will surprise people occasionally with his ability to run, because he's the type of guy who can drag a tackler for a couple extra yards or run through the tackle of a cornerback or safety. Ultimately, I don't know that Speight has the accuracy or decision making skills of an elite quarterback, which is why I want to see him followed up by an elite prospect. That way he can sort of bridge the gap between Morris - who looks pretty good - and the 2015 player, who can hopefully take over or at least push Speight when Morris graduates.

|1 day 9 hours ago||Top prospects over the past||
Top prospects over the past few years who have not signed on NSD have generally had further bumps in the road (Pryor, Seantrel Henderson, Bryce Brown), but there are also guys like Alex Kozan who seemed genuinely conflicted, quietly signed with Auburn, and AFAIK has had no serious troubles on his way to starting in the National Championship game this past season.
|1 day 9 hours ago||I know you're not equating||
I know you're not equating the two, but we should keep in mind that Pryor chose to carry it out past NSD for _________________ (who knows?) reason. McDowell's situation is a little bit different in that he clearly wants to go to MSU, but his parents do not see eye to eye with him. If it were up to McDowell, this would all be over with and he wouldn't be garnering this much attention right now.

I never realized before last weekend that you were in "The Usual Suspects."
|1 day 10 hours ago||Mom still does not like MSU,||
Mom still does not like MSU, and she and Malik are trying to shore things up. She does not like the non-academic atmosphere at MSU and wants him to go somewhere else. It's still a fluid situation, and from everything I've heard, Michigan isn't totally out of it. They're also not going after him hard because he doesn't like hard sells and they don't want to turn him off.

|1 day 12 hours ago||Thanks. I spent about an hour||
Thanks. I spent about an hour and 20 minutes last night watching film of Waller and Wimbush (the final two on my alphabetical list), typing up their scouting reports, and then ranking all the prospects. So I'm glad people appreciate it.
|1 day 14 hours ago||I could be wrong, but I do||
I could be wrong, but I do not believe that Sills and Nussmeier have met before, at least not since Michigan hired Nussmeier. So yes, I think it could be a situation where Sills is trying to get a feel for Michigan, a feel for Nussmeier's vision, etc.
As mentioned in the linked post, I do not believe Sills is a quality option for what Nussmeier wants. He's not athletic enough to be Nussmeier's ideal, and he was already well down my list of pocket passers.
|1 day 14 hours ago||Borges was in heavy contact||
Borges was in heavy contact with Kearns, and Nussmeier has maintained contact. I think the coaches are very interested in him, but for whatever reason, he's a little bit down the pecking order. From what I've heard, Kearns is very high on Michigan and I think we would have an excellent shot at landing him if we offered.
|1 day 14 hours ago||I believe he set his||
I believe he set his announcement date for March 20th, so clear your schedule for some thumb sucking that day.
|1 day 14 hours ago||The thing with Rosen is, I||
The thing with Rosen is, I look at what Alabama did with A.J. McCarron, and I think Rosen can be every bit that good, if not better. Now Rosen is about to commit to UCLA so I don't really think it matters, but I don't think Nussmeier would be dead set on getting a dual-threat guy if he can get an elite pocket guy.

|2 days 9 hours ago||I honestly mean no offense,||
I honestly mean no offense, but it probably looked like that to you because the vast majority of football fans don't understand the complexity of each play. There are 100 different plays you can run that look like "a run up the middle for negative yardage or no gain."

AFAIK, he has not been hired by another program.
