"It's a lot easier being a drug dealer than an AAU coach" - this guy. Tell me something I don't know. I mean, don't think but have never tried either.

Have you ever transcribed a 15-minute-long interview? Soul-crushing work. Let the guy have a little fun.

If you think about it, OSU has had an insanely talented QB for almost a decade. You could argue that Troy Smith, Pryor, and Miller were all the best QB in the nation during their time. It'd be nice if they could have just a good QB for the next couple cycles. I have nightmares of Smith, Pryor, and Miller slashing through us.

I feel bad for guys like Ryan Glasgow who always seem to be used as tools in some obvious ploy by the coaches to motivate a more talented player.

Aye aye aye, it was only a matter of time. Would you care to educate me on what makes a real fan now?

I want Michigan to win football games and am tired of excuses for managerial incompetence. Lots of players don't pan out or end up having the talent to play at this level, and that's too bad, I guess. It's the coaches' job to figure out who those guys are and not throw them to the wolves. Sorry if my picture offended you--the oline situation is just getting to the level of absurdity for me.

I agree with all this. I love Devin's ability. I wonder sometimes if Morris could be that third-best QB in the league week in and week out.

I don't have a problem with Miller. I felt bad for him last year that he was put in a position where he couldn't succeed. Same thing with Bellomy against Nebraska--never should have been out there. My issue is with the way this staff has assessed and coached the offensive line. It's abhorrent. And the fact that M fans are looking at this first team o-line and just nodding is hilarious to me.

Go back and watch the ND game, and tell me it was one of the line's better performances.

Normally I'd agree with you. But Miller was a special case last year with how bad he showed on the field. Like went-into-a-psychological-shell bad. Like Bellomy-versus-Nebraska bad.

The center spot was all but gift wrapped for him last season, and he had the whole offseason to prepare for it.

Miller was not small last year--he was 6'4", 295. That's above average for center.

After last season, your first sentence is more plausible than the reverse.
|6 days 22 hours ago||Miller anywhere on the field||
Miller anywhere on the field is concerning. It doesn't mean he's better than Glasgow; it means he's better than whichever guard Glasgow moves over to replace. Actually, it doesn't mean he's better than anybody since the coaches picked him as the starting center last fall camp, too, and he ended up being worse than any center I saw play college football last season.
A true freshman starting at the most important spot on the line is also concerning. Magnuson at left tackle was one of our only "sure things" on the line this offseason, but I guess not. How people see this development as a positive is baffling to me.
I'm not sure why any Michigan fan would give this staff the benefit of the doubt as far as assessing its offensive line talent after the past two years, but, hey, eat it up.

Were any of the others at left tackle, the most important position on the line?

Exactly, I don't know how this lineup could read more concerning. What the hell, though, at least we got Peppers! Let's see what happens.
|6 days 23 hours ago||I'm sorry, but the only thing||
I'm sorry, but the only thing Miller has shown in his on-field experience is that he wasn't good enough to play a single minute in the second half of last season, amidst the worst ever Michigan offensive line play. Al Borges staked his job on Miller being worse than a bunch of first- and second-year players: Kalis, Bosch, Burzinsky, Magnuson, Glasgow, and whoever else played on the interior.

And so the coaches decided to just let it ride rather than put Miller back in to save their jobs? Okay.
|1 week 3 days ago||Fine, but I ask again: how||
Fine, but I ask again: how can one say, "Miller seems like a decent enough center," with a straight face? If the best thing you can say about his capabilities is that he "wasn't an unmitigated disaster in pass protection" (which I disagree with), that sure doesn't make him "decent enough." Miller was not good enough to see the field once after the fourth game on the worst offensive line we've ever had.
|1 week 3 days ago||Wait, WAT? On what are you||
Wait, WAT? On what are you basing your assertion that Miller seems a decent enough center? Did you forget that ten months ago he was benched indefinitely from the worst line we've ever had? And this as the most senior lineman.

Unless he's undergone a dramatic transformation from year three to four, I'm pretty sure Miller does not have what it takes to play BCS football. He was the worst player on the worst line in Michigan history. And he was the oldest.

Just don't flip flop Barnum and Mealer the day before the first game. Or start Miller at center even though he's hopelessly overmatched. Or have Braden get all the first team reps at guard until September 1st before pulling the rug out. Kthx.
