the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection

I don't think QWash is as firmly established as you think. Expect a big push from Pipkins. Coaches have to create the aura of senior leadership/supremacy in the early going for the sake of team chemistry. This has happened in each of Hoke's two years. Upperclassmen get all the buzz during spring/fall. Underclassmen risers steal the show when it matters. |

| 4 weeks 2 days ago | This is a no-brainer. You |
This is a no-brainer. You have a sure-fire NBA power forward (McGary) and NBA small forward (Robinson) on your roster. Play them at their positions. If they will play those positions in the NBA, they should play there now, especially since we have completely viable options at the 1, 2, and 5. (Hell, we may even have NBA talent at the point and shooting guard positions depending on how Walton, Irvin, and Stauskus pan out). Anyway, I hate hearing that Robinson is too slow to guard the 3 in college or that McGary can't guard the 4. B.S. They will play those positions in the pros, no question. All the other 3's and 4's from other teams on our schedule can worry about how they're going to deal with the size and athleticism combo of Robinson and McGary. Good luck with that. There's a reason all those other guys won't be playing in the NBA one day but Robinson and McGary will. |
| 5 weeks 4 days ago | I'm old enough. I think we'll |
I'm old enough. I think we'll look back at upon this team in ten years and realize how incredible it was to have five legit NBAers on the team. Burke, McGary, and Robinson will all be lottery picks if they time it right. Hardaway and Stauskus will have longer, better pro careers than King or Jackson just because of size and niche skill set, respectively. |
| 5 weeks 5 days ago | Burke and McGary will be very |
Burke and McGary will be very good NBA players. Robinson will be a good one. Hardaway and Stauskus will be role players in the NBA. Morgan and Horford could potentially make pro rosters. That has never happened and will probably never happen again at U-M. |

It doesn't matter if THJ is pissed the fuck off or not. He's just not that good. Zak Irvin will be much better than him. |

History will show that this was the most talented team we've ever had. I don't know that we'll have this good a chance at a national title for a long time. |
| 5 weeks 5 days ago | I would be absolutely on fire |
I would be absolutely on fire if I were Trey Burke after this game. The way he got jobbed in this game in so many ways is the kind of event that makes you either never want to associate with college basketball again or come back for another year and kill people. I'm afraid it's going to be the former. |

If you take an NCAA tournament game lightly, then you have a general intensity/motivation problem that likely can't be turned on and off. |
| 9 weeks 20 hours ago | I agree that we don't have |
I agree that we don't have any really skilled bigs (although McGary has showed flashes), but an unskilled big post player is better than an unskilled skinny post player, which is what Robinson is when he plays PF. Playing Morgan/Horford and McGary together may not help with the Zellers of the world, but we would have more size and athleticism in the front court than almost any other Big Ten team. And on offense, Robinson is giving nothing at PF. May as well give McGary a shot to grow as a viable post presence. |
| 9 weeks 20 hours ago | Honest question: Why don't we |
Honest question: Why don't we start (C) Morgan/Horford, (PF) McGary, (SF) Robinson, (SG) Hardaway, and (PG) Burke, with Stauskas as the 6th man? Before the season, almost everybody who made basketball projections assumed that would be the starting lineup. McGary got off to a slow start because of injury, so that lineup became moot. I always thought Robinson was just a stop-gap at PF until McGary and Horford were in game shape. Everyone's healthy now, so why not put people in their natural positions? It's not like we're so desperately lacking big bodies that Robinson has to play out of position. That bigger lineup would help with our biggest problems: rebounding and defense. . Some people think Robinson's not athletic enough to defend quicker SFs? Give me a break--the guy is an NBA SF who I'm sure can keep up the Mike Bruesewitzes of the Big Ten. Christ, Burke is an NBA PG, Hardaway will be an NBA SG, Robinson will be an NBA SF, McGary will be an NBA PF, Morgan and Horford are natual centers. Throw that lineup out there and make the other team adjust. How often do you get a lineup like that, with near-certain NBA players spanned across four of the five position groups? Stop being cute, and just put guys at their natural positions. We're all going to look back and cry at the lost possibilities when Burke, Hardaway, Robinson, and McGary are serviceable-to-good NBA players at the positions they should have been playing this year at Michigan. |

| 9 weeks 6 days ago | Qualifiers: - We would not |
Qualifiers: - We would not be as good a team without Burke. - Burke has played superbly. - I like Burke. That said, I think Burke missed a big opportunity to make this a truly special team this year. At some point early in the conference slate, he stopped trusting his teammates. This may have been deserved, to some degree, as the freshmen got some jitters here and there. But I think he could have been a better leader and facilitator as the season went on. We're sitting on an unprecedented amount of talent this season, and there's just no excuse for the offense devolving into Burke Burke dribble dribble fade away as soon as any game gets tight. Our embarassment of offensive options were squandered. I think the player-of-the-year attention went to his head a little bit and made him try to do too much. I wish that hadn't happened. |

I think MSU has the toughest schedule against the top half, as they play every one of this group both at home and away. They play ten games against the other top five; we only play eight. We avoid Wisonsin and Minnesota at home and replace them with two bottom tier B1G teams. |

I thought getting manhandled in Columbus got the freshmen ready? Or was it getting blown off the court the first half against Indiana that taught them what it's like to play on the big stage? It might just be that we're not a top-10 team. |
