I think both sides are…

I think both sides are intelligent enough to expect a show cause -- for reasons.   Jim is carrying a flame-thrower into the house of the NCAA that already reeks of gas.   Corporate types don't fight according to Queensbury Rules when they feel their survival is threatened.   Jim has a target on his back and he knows it.  So does Michigan.  I am in the camp that thinks he really wants to stay and be the catalyst for change in college football and college athletics governance.   However, he needs the University to support him fully because the fight is going to get uglier than what we saw this year.

I agree.  I think he nets $5…

I agree.  I think he nets $5-$6 million after legal fees.   He will work again after the stain on his reputation dries.

JJ will probably look to Harbaugh's decision, too.   Those two have a special connection and I don't see JJ hanging around if Jim wins it all on Monday evening and then decides to wrestle with his Super Bowl demons.   Who knows, Harbaugh may be in a position to continue coaching JJ at the next level.  All of us want to see both of them in Ann Arbor next year, but almost everyone can agree with their decisions if they choose the NFL after winning next week.

I had been told by several people when I mentioned that I was going that it is the rare thing in this world that lives up to the hype, and I agree with that assessment.

I share this sentiment wholeheartedly.   I loved the entire experience.  The game environment reminded me of the Big House in the '90s and '00s -- but, better.  I was fortunate to get midfield Michigan sideline seats and there was no "down in front" vibe or pressure at any time during the game.  The crowd was energized from pregame until the ushers made us leave after the celebrations.  I was surrounded by very knowledgeable fans who made the game extremely enjoyable to watch even when there was a threat of arrhythmia (in the first 5 minutes, the third quarter, or on the final punt of the game).

I was hoping this was going to be a game I would always fondly remember.  It delivered in that respect much more than I expected.   Instant classic, and one of my fondest Michigan football memories.

There may be a typo in your comment.  Last year's game with TCU was 3:55, the second longest CFP game.   The shortest was at the Rose Bowl in 2021.  That game was only 3:13

Here are stats for CFP game length:

Based on the "research" I…

Based on the "research" I have been doing, it seems like the best strategy is to park a mile or two away from the stadium.  The walk will take 30 - 50 minutes each way unless you use the shuttle from the Parson lot, but the walk will save about 1-1.5 hours waiting for traffic to clear.

Assuming the game is over by 6/6:15, you should get out of the stadium after watching Michigan celebrate, at about 7/7:15.  Then, in your car by 8:00 and heavy traffic to LAX is another 1 to 1.5 hours.

It's going to be close, but feasible depending on where you rent your car.

No requirement to be an alum to use the exchange (if you don't have a Michigan email address you can log in with LinkedIn, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, or the f/k/a Twitter).   It is peer-to-peer ticket sales, so the only requirement is that you are not anonymous to the other users.

Also, remember that the…

Also, remember that the Michigan Alumni Association has a ticket exchange. Link:  https://alumni.umich.edu/athletics/alumni-ticket-exchange/

You have to be very quick on the trigger.  I have contacted four different sellers and the tickets are usually gone in 15 minutes or less.  However, most are willing to sell at their cost and without added fees.

Currently, the least expensive seats for the game are in the $489/each to $535 range (includes fees) on TickPick.  These are endzone corner seats usually above Row 60.  Least expensive Michigan sideline seats are about $850 each in the upper rows.

Shower Thoughts:

I would like to think that if cattle understood that their demise inevitable, that they'd choose to be consumed by an elite athlete in a nice steakhouse rather than as a bunch of greasy sliders at White Castle scarfed during a late night munchy run.  I know if the roles were reversed, I would want an stud bull to consume my human tenderloin rather than a bunch of drunk cows consuming my ground muscle and fat while they laughed at stupid stoner observations.

Loudest football stadium I…

Loudest football stadium I have personally watched a game is Seattle (Lumen Field f/k/a Century Link when I attended -- 2nd loudest in the NFL at 137.6 db). The noise was extremely uncomfortable.  Apparently, Arrowhead is the loudest in the NFL at 142.2 decibels (i.e., above the "human pain threshold" and very dangerous).

You just need to travel north across town to the loudest college football stadium.  University of Washington recorded 133.6 decibels against Nebraska (pre- Scott Frost).  By comparison, Michigan apparently has recorded 110 decibels -- loud as metal band, but quiet enough that your ears won't bleed.

You:

Does Sports Illustrated use AI to generate sports stories that are filled with inaccuracies?

ChatGPT:

As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, there was no specific information indicating that Sports Illustrated or any other major sports media outlets were using AI to deliberately generate sports stories filled with inaccuracies. However, it's essential to note that developments in AI and media practices can occur, and I may not have the most recent information.

Sports media outlets may use AI and machine learning for various purposes, such as data analysis, content personalization, and generating statistical insights. The goal is generally to enhance the quality of content and provide more engaging and relevant information to their audience.

If there have been changes or new developments since my last update, I recommend checking the latest sources or contacting Sports Illustrated directly for the most accurate and up-to-date information on their content creation processes.

EDIT

When "challenged"  AI decided to lawyer up.   AI really is becoming sentient!   /S

You:

But there are numerous inaccuracies in stories that Sport Illustrated published that relied upon AI to generate content.

ChatGPT

As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, I don't have specific information about Sports Illustrated using AI to generate content or any inaccuracies in their stories related to AI-generated content. It's important to note that the landscape of media and technology can evolve, and developments may have occurred since then.

If there have been reports of inaccuracies in stories generated by AI at Sports Illustrated or any other publication, it could be due to various reasons, such as errors in the training data, biases in the algorithms, or other technical issues. It's also possible that any inaccuracies are unintentional and could be addressed through improved AI models and editorial oversight.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information on Sports Illustrated's use of AI and any reported inaccuracies, I recommend checking the latest news articles, statements from the publication, or contacting Sports Illustrated directly for clarification.

For several years, I have been in favor of a different conference or competition model for Michigan football.  However, my biggest concern about leaving the B1G is the impact on Michigan's non-revenue sports team.   How would the non-revenue teams be impacted by a departure if we went independent?  Obviously, the answer is easy if you join another existing conference or create a new one.
