Ah yes, the keyboard warrior…

Ah yes, the keyboard warrior who calls others dicks while not actually addressing the discussion at hand and being the first to attack another poster.

Is there hyperbole in my comment, sure, but if you watch him play and come away thinking anything other than he shouldn't be out there unless everyone else is at 4 fouls, or fouled out, then I hate to be the one to break it to you, but you have no concept of how the game is played. He has weak hands, is almost always out of position, gets burnt way too easily, and keeps the ball too low when going up to the basket. His fundamentals are bad let alone being talent deficient. He should not be playing meaningful min for this team.

I hope this is some kind of…

I hope this is some kind of joke I'm not getting, Tschettar shouldn't be on the bench let alone in the game. His "play" has been legit comical

While true, context matters…

While true, context matters. They went to the pass heavy almost immediately after that successful first drive. So yes, he didn't get much later, but you had a pick 6 and another pick that can be looked at as a pick 6 when barely trying the run. Michigan set the tone early and the tone was we aren't gonna do what we've been good at because of reasons...

I'd like to congratulate the…

I'd like to congratulate the coaches on costing the players the game. Refs were terrible, yes, they had a chance in the end, yes. But good lord the decisions made by the coaches were just epically bad.

First drive of the game that epically fucking stupid "trick" play was one of the worst playcalls I've ever seen.

Then you go pass happy for multiple drives after having Edwards gash them on the first drive. Why?

Then countlesss defensive calls failed hard. 3rd and 7 with momentum and you send the house when those blitzes have only.. ONLY hurt you the whole game and all you is need a stop.

You get some good QB runs and suddenly you have to do that for every play?

Time management continues to be a foreign language for these coaches. Whether it's the defense standing around waiting for an alignment call while TCU looks to snap the ball, or offense acting like they have all day to score under 5 min left in the game and not knowing the rules of out of bands not stopping the clock till the last few min.

I hate losing, I can understand when you're out played and can swallow that pill. But when your coaches just decide they don't know how the game works anymore. That I can't swallow.

In Mass I'd expect you could…

In Mass I'd expect you could find any of the twelve percent stuff. Abomination and Skygazer are two of my favorites. Abomination makes awesome IPAs and DIPAs. Skygazer is known for their fruited sours.

Probably a good bet you could find New England Brewing Co, their Sea Hag IPA is distroed pretty far and wide, Thomas Hooker, Kent Falls, and maybe Back East up in mass as well.

Mass also has treehouse brewing, but you have to go out to the brewery to get that. Absolutely worth the trip though.

CT has a surprisingly top…

CT has a surprisingly top notch brewery scene going on.

A lot of our stuff is getting wider distro through 12% Brewing Project, so I won't list things like Abomination, Skygazer, Fat Orange Cat, Marlowes, and Short Throw (technically a VA brewer but doing all his stuff out of CT right now), all of which you should check out if you come across it, but CT local if you find yourself in our tiny state:

  • Kent Falls
  • Back East
  • Thomas Hooker
  • Counter Weight
  • New England Brewing Co
  • Newpark
  • Beer'd
  • O.E.C.
  • Tribus
  • Fox Farm
  • Tox

Some stuff is easier to find depending where in the state you are

I will never understand the…

I will never understand the goal of using these stats in this discussion.

At best, you are highlighting how there is a broader problem in our society, which furthers the point of the Black Lives Matter movement as something is wrong to lead to these disproportionate numbers.

At worst, your goal is to make it solely the fault of the race, meaning what? That they are inherently more violent? I hope I don't need to explain the problem with this line of thinking.

In the end, either way, your point actually supports the need for the movement. The problem goes way beyond bad apples. Someone with that much power needs much more training than they currently get, or they need additional resources to handle certain things they are not trained for. A boot camp and 4-6 months of training is not enough.

Come gather around my…

Come gather around my friends, for I have a tale that involves the threat of violence, via seatbelt, as well as a helpful hand, via gun-mounted flashlight, all in the name of dating.

While living in the southwest, I met a nice young woman, we were both in our early twenties, around 2008-2009 timeframe, I graduated UM in 2006 for context. The young woman happened to be Latino, I am your standard white Jewish gentleman. Why is this relevant? Well it wouldn't be except for some specific things stated throughout the evening in question.

After a few dates, i picked her up to come meet some close friends of mine. There was a solid Irish pub in town, Thursday football on, really good food, and of course good booze. In previous meetings, she had held her own drink wise, so I didn't bat an eye when her and my buddy's GF we're going drink for drink. That was of course, until I heard, "this is white person bar..."

I leaned in to clarify, to which I was greated with "this is a white person bar and this is white people food!" While accurate, I had been to this bar with a lot of my friends who encompassed all races, so this had never crossed my mind as something to consider when taking someone out with friends. Her desire to continue to explain this got louder and more belligerent. I would find out later that she was just getting better from being sick, was on antibiotics and hadn't eaten all day. Good to know prior, but here we were.

It became clear that this was only gonna get worse. In looking back at it, I am impressed I was able to convince her it was time to go without any scene in the restaurant, especially given it was maybe 8:30pm and we got there around 7:15-7:30. I helped her to my car, opened her door, helped her in and closed the door before I got into the car. Upon my entry, she swings her right hand toward me quickly, seatbelt in hand, and stops just about as far the belt will go and states, "what are you gonna do with this?" I gently take her hand and the seatbelt, and move it toward the buckle and buckle her in. She proceeds to pass out.

Upon arrival at her house, she is more asleep than awake, refusing to get out of the car, then struggling to walk, and then finally sitting on the front steps of her house. She looks for her keys for a good 5 min before declaring that she can't find them. She refuses to let me look in her purse, I start frantically looking in my car, as this evening needs to end. After a few minutes with no luck, a car pulls up behind mine. Her brother and his friend step out. After some introductions, and me trying to make sure the situation does not go negative as my only goal is getting her inside safe and back to my friends, he starts helping me look for her keys in my car.

Suddenly a flashlight is on in my car. I think it seems odd but maybe he had it in his car for emergency. Not a keychain flashlight mind you, a full fledged flashlight. After a min or two of looking, I hear from my date "uh found em" and then her house door slams as quickly as it opens. I turn to say thanks to her brother to which I see a handgun with a mounted flashlight. He tells me he's glad to know I'm a gentleman before giving me a firm, slightly too long of a handshake. Turns out, he's been recently released from prison. And yes, I know this all sounds like a little much, trust me, I'm right there with you.

I return to my friends, deer in the headlights look on my face, amazing story in hand.

Thankfully my friends never miss a chance to remind me of this anytime they get in my car, making sure to threaten me with the seatbelt. What're you gonna do with this?!?

You keep commenting as…

You keep commenting as though everyone has actually followed the orders. From day one till now people have been disregarding everything so to make statements about how masks and distancing don't work because cases keep going up, doesn't actually make any sense. Do you have a study or verified location where literally everyone followed social distancing guidelines and wore masks, and cases still went up? Cause I know first hand that where I live people let their kids go to other people's house on play dates, have lawn hangouts not anywhere close to 6 feet a part and our cases are going up. It's not that masks and guidelines don't work, it's that enough people are not following them that it continues to spread.

You can just scroll these comments and get a sense of how people have refused to care about anyone other than themselves because they wrongly believe their rights are being taken away, or they saw on some news show that only tells them what they want to hear that it's fake, or not as bad as they say, or just a flu, or whatever other false narrative they want to take.

I would agree with you if people actually listened. The problem is that this is a ongoing issue that will require changes in approaches and new guidance as more is learned. What they think works now may not work as well or something may work better in the future. Following the current guidelines. It's not hard.

I bought each of my…

I bought each of my groomsmen a Mancrate from here https://www.mancrates.com/

I was able to get something different for each one, depending on what they liked to do. My dad got some fishing gear, my brother had been looking for a nice beer glass set, etc.

In addition to good gift options, they also send it in a mini shipping crate that is somewhat complicated to open. You can also adjust how complicated if you want to make it harder by adding duct tape, which seemed like a little much to me.

I had them open their crates at the rehearsal dinner and simply trying to get them open was really entertaining and people got really into trying to figure it out and see what they got.

A gift and a show, as well as a nice way to see who is the smartest groomsmen. My dad, the Michigan Engineering grad, and one of his buddies took about 15 seconds to asses and then find the week spot.

Yeah.... But how do you…

Yeah.... But how do you really feel?

You're hard to read sometimes.

Completely agree though

Not sure how this qualifies…

Not sure how this qualifies as a fail for Howard without any knowledge about the decision and circumstances yet. As has been mentioned elsewhere, they could have offered him a good deal, but there can be sour grapes for being passed over for the HC job.

You may end up being right, but at this stage this is a claim with no factual basis.

How do you want him to talk…

How do you want him to talk about the team? These are players and coaches he played with. His goal will always be encouragement and pushing them to do their best. He mentions goals that are always the main goals.

If your goal is not to go undefeated and win the championship, my guess is you've never played competitive sports. Pipe dream or not, you always play to win the game, and if you keep winning games, you're playing to win it all.

The reason you are so hated…

The reason you are so hated here is there is no value in your post. It would have gone over better if you linked the article and simply said how there are some good points in it, maybe highlighting one such point.

Why do you think copying large chunks gives some sort of value to this board? The goal is to let fans know about the article so we can then go read it. We don't need or want your selective copying.

Now please kindly fuck off you twat.

For fucks sake. Get over it…

For fucks sake. Get over it. You are reaching so hard on this shit. Random past player with no experience in NBA or coaching has an opinion. Who gives a shit?!? You are not only annoying, but pathetic. Just stop

How is it news? A national…

How is it news? A national reporter, with no connection to the program, no insider leanings, has a feeling. You do realize that Twitter isn't always news, right? People throw out hunches and guesses like crazy as it requires no proof for anything that is said.

This will obviously get…

Never read the books, no…

Never read the books, no idea when the books stopped and the show writers took over, but I am in the boat that the show hasn't been very good for a few seasons now.

Don't get me wrong, visually it's been pretty fantastic, but story wise it has kind of been stretched out and predictable. Hoping this season brings back some of the excitement from the earlier seasons.

Why would the need change?…

Why would the need change? Wouldn't it simply shift to the next level that isn't going right into the NBA? The team still needs players and will pay to get the best available.

Couldn't agree more with…

Couldn't agree more with this sentiment.

Is it just being a delusional fan that creates this idea that if this year's team had a cupcake schedule we somehow would have won it all? You realize it would have been just like ND's year at best, granted we still would have lost to OSU. Why is it better to coast and get run out the building in playoffs vs. a good schedule and miss the playoffs or, best case, prove we deserve to be there by beating good teams?

We lost the big games due to poor play calling and game mismanagement. We did not lose them cause we were "depleted" or any other BS narrative.

Even if a joke, this would…

Even if a joke, this would be the most Michigan thing ever...

Today's news is the perfect…

Today's news is the perfect storm of events for this to happen. Hill flips back, OSU loses Battle and their QB, and rumors of more commits wavering a little seem to be floating around.

A smart kid would at least have to think about it a little with all that going on, plus new coaches and uncertainty of who all will be retained at OSU

Wishful thinking, and not…

Wishful thinking, and not getting my hopes up, but I wonder what, if any, connection this has with Harbaugh's need to clarify his future publicly? Someone got in Hill's ear about his future with the program perhaps?

Incredible gesture. Been trying to get back to a game for a few years now, would love to take my dad to the game! We're both Alumni and haven't been to a game together since i was a little kid

I am certainly not against

I am certainly not against criticizing any coach, including Harbaugh, and definitely not a trust the coaches in all respects guy. But the problem with posters like Maizen is that he doesn't do what you just described. His last post that I saw literally only argued that because this year won't be a top 5 class, we're screwed. He didn't go through positions, he doesn't analyze anything. He does exactly what you gave as an example and goes solely off of overall rankings. All I’m asking is for there to be some benefit to a post. “Not Top 5 = WAAAAAHHH” does not bring any value to this site.

Hahahahaahahah. Really? He's

Hahahahaahahah. Really? He's objective? Rational? He throws out a personal opinion with no facts, then attacks or dismisses any actual fact-based argument against him.

PPR league, Pick 2 from...

Jonathan Stewart (vs. NO), Eddie Lacy (vs. DAL), Julian Edelman (vs CIN) and James White (vs CIN)

Leaning toward Stewart (for the NO matchup) and Edelman. Lacy hasn't done much and has suspect health, but White vs. Stewart is tripping me up.

Don't know about Harbaugh's video, but found Chris Ash's:

The crazy thing is that they

The crazy thing is that they were actually delusional enough that they pushed the issue with the insurance company trying to get money back.  They either didn't think this would come out, or didn't think it was bad enough to warrant consideration.

They are the reason this stuff is coming to light.

Preacher on AMC

I won't repost the other stuff people have listed, but I will toss in a new one I hope is getting enough viewers to get renewed.

Preacher is on AMC, first season, only about 6 episodes so far.  It's the first show in a while that has me checking the calendar looking forward to when the next episode is on.

I admit, it's weird, but just the right amount of it. Vampires, Angels, Demons, Murder and all kinds of craziness.

The issue I take with the whole thing isn't even

The issue I take with the whole thing isn't even whether or not they're guilty of it, but that there is already a set punishment for equipment tampering.

So even though I look at it as ridiculous because of how little of an impact it had on games, it's much the same as pitchers scuffing balls, if you want to punish them you stick to the defined punishment.

maybe terrible is too strong, but I'm not one for

maybe terrible is too strong, but I'm not one for the having to tie up all the loose strings approach. they really weren't very loose, as nothing surprising happened. You can continue a story without spoon-feeding your audience. don't need a bang, but for me it didn't create that desire for more. thought the dialogue was boring

this^

I am so confused by comments with people saying that was a hell of an episode. Did I watch something different? that was a terrible season premiere

I actually didn't compare him

I actually didn't compare him to the old one at all. Never even mentioned Vader in my post.  A villain can be analyzed without comparison, as I did.  The overal plot was a rehash of the original three, but I don't want Vader again.  As I said in my post, I was looking for the next installment.  I want someone interesting that I am intrigued by the potential moving forward. What I got was a whiny child who not only appeared beatable, but actually was by both a storm trooper and another teenager who could some how woosah her way into the force without any knowledge of it prior.

Kylo Ren could have been scary if his temper tantrums resulted in doing something more than throwing a fit and breaking a few things.  I like the idea of the outcast that isn't fully feared by anyone, including his own men, but it has to be done in a way that shows you why you want to see him get to that point.  I didn't even hate him for killing Han, that's how hard they failed at making him hateable, which all good villains are.  Whiny teenagers are not interesting, intimidating, or scary.  They are annoying. So if their goal was to make an annoying character, then success.  I imagine they were going for interesting and intimidating, and they missed.

For the life of me I just

For the life of me I just can't understand the love for Kylo Ren.  What is it born out of?  He wasn't intimidating at all.  I know some people talk about his outbursts as scary because he has the potential to snap at any moment, but it didn't come across as scary.  To me it was like a whiny little teenager.  I felt more like he could be defeated by anyone because he lacked control more than he was to be feared.  I hope he does pan out, but I just seriously struggle to understand the praise for the actor and character.

I didn't dislike Episode VII, I am in the camp that was hoping for the next installment and got the identical story again.  It was really well done, just dissapointing from a plot perspective.

Didn't say anything about

Didn't say anything about dunking. And calling that technique "middle school basketball coaching" is pretty funny.  You actually described the exact reason you don't bring the ball down after a rebound or receiving a pass in the post.  If you pump too often, or dribble, it gives the defender a chance to reload and time the block. If you go up right away, it takes that away. Obviously I'm not saying every time, as you have to pump and pivet to get better looks at times, but our bigs almost always pump or dribble.

It's not about size or athleticism, which I agree our bigs lack, but its a clear softness.  I don't expect them to win every battle, but there are times where it seems like they don't even know how to box out, and against smaller players too.

Soft bigs

I would say the fact that the bigs play afraid under the basket is a sign that Alexander isn't doing a good job. Also, the bigs are failing at routine techniques. Some of the first things you're taught as a post player is to always go straight up to the basket when you get the ball. No dribble, no hesitation, especially on rebounds. The announcers make multiple comments per game about one, or all, of our bigs doing this multiple times. Maize glasses have to be the only way you can possibly look at our bigs and say they are improved.

this one

That's the right one. I called, they said, "We're getting a lot of calls about it." And when I said I hope to never see this angle again, the guy laughed and said he'd be surprised if it ever got used again.

this will be interesting

no way they can get him to the levels they did in the graphic novel, hope they don't pull back too much though

Not quite like this

I think there's a big difference between 4* highly rated recruit that states Michigan leads for a long time but won't commit, and the overall #1 5* recruit doing the same.

Not only is this situation unique because his mom is clearly looking to make an educated decision, but I wouldn't be surprised if outlets like ESPN reached out directly to him as it got late into the cycle and told him something like if you wait to commit till on NSD, we'll feature you on ESPN.

Buffalo

Go back to his days at Buffalo and you can see how he makes strong hires and grows the department, more football specific. I think the UCONN stuff is more an example of maintaining the high level of excellence the school had in basketball. No one is making UCONN a football destination, but he kept basketball strong through sanctions and a big time retirement.

...

I would say Hackett is the exception. The business world guys will more likely be in the mold of Brandon. Manuel is a proven AD that has successfully navigated sanctions and the retiring of a legend coach. Do want
