I'm giving you +1 on that because of the positivity, but it's not like Izzo is slowing down at all with recruiting. Yeah they'll be "young" in 2011-2012, but Roe, Green, and Lucious will be seniors, and the ridiculous Appling, Payne, Byrd, Gauna class will all be sophomores. It's not like they're hurting for talent (they're no Kentucky, but they're definitely at the top of the Big Ten).
yeah... high school defenders. He doesn't wow me like Zeigler, McAllum, and Appling do. Now those are some elite prospects. Sykes is just in the "good" category.
Apparently, he doesn't wow the Scout, Rivals, or ESPN people either... or any high-major college coaches.
He said a "NCAA compliance official" called him. I guess it could've been someone working for Michigan, but he made it sound like it was from the NCAA.
I know a kid who got called by the NCAA because he was talking to Dior Mathis on facebook about why he should come to M. Kid is a Michigan student with football season tickets, and the NCAA told him to stop or there could be some issues. This whole "booster" thing is so iffy nowadays.
96-team tourney would be a terrible idea, but it would obviously help M a lot. We weren't even close to making it last year, and next year could be about the same or worse... the Big Ten will be loaded (Purdue, Sparty, O$U, Illinois, and Wisconsin will be very good, and Northwestern and Minnesota will be about as good as us).
I would like the idea if M could actually make it into a 48-team field. The way our program has been (and looks like it won't get MUCH better--especially with how loaded the Big Ten is), it would take us many years to get into a 48-team tourney.
