"Forever and always, Go Blue"

I couldn't agree more. No matter the state of the program, how can anyone not watch The Game today?!? I've seen many comments on other posts saying they won't "waste their time" watching today.

If you do not want to invest yourself emotionally - just to avoid feeling bad/sad/depressed after a probable loss - then what is the point of being a fan? My understanding is, the word “fan” comes from the word “fanatical” meaning: "filled with excessive and single-minded zeal, obsessively concerned with something".

Love, hate, joy, and heartbreak is all part of the experience. You can’t have one without the other.

Think about it: would you give up on your immediate family? I venture to guess most would answer no. No matter how bad a situation my be. Is Michigan not the equivalent of a very large extended family? I venture to guess most would answer yes.

Now, do I expect a win today? No. I have not expected to win any game since the blowout to ND. But this does not prevent me from turning on the TV and getting excited for every yard we gain. I can’t help it. It’s unexplainable and, in my opinion, rightfully so.

GO BLUE!

Maryland/Rutgers in B1G

reguardless of their decent records this year, I still think Maryland (7-4) and Rutgers (6-5) are an odd addition to the conference. and I am not saying this because Michigan lost to both. I feel the same way I felt when the announcment was made in 2012 - when I assumed we would crush both schools on the gridiron.

I understand most of college football has changed drastically and the B1G does not want to be left behind (especially when it comes to market share/TV contracts/$$$). but how do these new schools fit in? especially with athletics? I guess we will see more forced "rivalries" soon.

no disrespect to Maryland/Rutgers, I don't have a problem with either institution. I'm complaining about the B1G here. I used to think the conference was unique and stood for something. midwestern values.. tradition.. now all I see is a commercial money machine. from this perspective, Dave Brandon was/is a perfect fit in the B1G conference. maybe he will be the next B1G commissioner!

agreed. the entire game was so bad, but I could not stop watching it. I kept thinking to myself: "this is funny, but its not funny".

NW played us worse than Indiana played us last week (and we beat Indiana by 24pts). yesterday we beat NW by one point. bc they failed on the 2pt conversion.

how can this happen?

not defending him..

but if taking the bad with the good, didnt Brandon have something to do with the soccer match over the summer?

It is one of the few useful things I can think of. My understanding is that events like this benefit everyone (and I think it is pretty cool to have big name clubs with international superstars in the Big House).

I still think he needs to go and should not be further involved with the University. A handful of positive things do not make up for all the damage he has caused both directly and indirectly. I was very happy (and pleasantly surprised) that I was able to login and sign the petition against Brandon. I was also impressed that my 10 year old uniquename and Mcard# are both still in the University's system. #gomichiganengineering
