the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection

Re-explaining how the defense you said was so good and was at least going to keep it close vs. Alabama allowed you to get waxed worse than we did by them? Your prognostication sucks. |
| 15 hours 25 min ago | Wasn't the 7-5 team to the Gator Bowl, not the Outback? |
But do you agree with Gene Smith on no OOC M-OSU basketball game? Respect meter back down. In the "become Czar of college football for a day" what bowl trade outs would people like to make? Putting the Holiday in there is a good, non-Florida bowl, but what realistically are people hoping for? Rose, Orange, Sugar, and then the 4th place team in the Fiesta? The Peach would have been nice before it started getting upgraded, but what existing bowls would we rather trade out for? And unless we're headed to something different, I don't know how many times during Ten Year War I the winner would have headed to a national championship game. So the Rose Bowl will still be a prize most of the time. And even if you think that we're really going to have undefeated vs. undefeated so the winner IS going to the playoff, there's probably decent odds half those years the loser is lined up for a playoff slot too one loss. I did love the "long held social contract" line.....I can't wait for them to get a sit down and have that converse with Brandon-speak. Do they all realize people don't talk like that? Even the ones who went to Michigan. |
| 17 hours 46 min ago | The Big Ten according to Brandon: |
It's not like the Big Ten is made up of, like, people and stuff, from high ranking officials at member institutions. But they won't listen to him.

But other areas, I'd watch and check around to see how good the areas around some of the apartments are. Further west of the campus there are areas that can go from really nice to not so nice in a couple of blocks. I mean, it's only Ann Arbor bad, not Detroit bad, but some places (thinking apartments east of Stadium at Liberty and Pauline) go from really expensive houses to cheap apartments with some crimes in just a couple of blocks. The neighborhood may look great, but the complex itself might not be great. There seems to be more crime reports in those areas. But then if you're right downtown you have to watch yourself late at night too. |
| 17 hours 56 min ago | If you bike and/or don't mind the bus, not a bad suggestion. |
If you plan on driving, account for some rough parking fees and/or difficulty finding parking. Even the U is jacking up costs after this year, and if you're anywhere close you'll have a hard time finding it. http://annarbor.com/news/u-m-regents-meeting-may-16/?cmpid=NL_DH_tophead...

| 17 hours 58 min ago | Google was mostly a joke. |
Others here know far more about the tech scene than I do. But Classes begin this Fall on September 3rd, so the week before, (and particularly the weekend) will probably be hairy. But then Labor day is that weekend too, so if it's easier to get off you can join the crowd. Really depends if you find housing right downtown or not. If outlying it won't matter much. Thought she might have a hard and fast date she has to report to school herself. |
| 19 hours 19 min ago | He could always say something like |
I tried to get MSU to not flip, and the Big Ten wouldn't do it, and they said because x, y, and z. Because it makes it sounds like he just takes whatever they give him, and he says "thank you sir, may I have another?" |
| 19 hours 39 min ago | Some thoughts: |
Housing: Really depends on what you're looking for. Right now Ann Arbor is in a building boom for a glut of downtown highrises that are going to be fancy, competing with each other, but pricey. Like- But there's around a half dozen of them that have been finished or getting started. The done (new) ones are on South U. Rich student area. New construction west of campus, but downtown. If money is an object, McKinley is the big renter in town. They own almost everything. But having done business with them, I don't really like them. And every time I hear "Ground level apartments flood" it's invariable a McKinley property. All about the bucks, and rotating people in and out. Who I would recommend is CMB Properites. Smaller, but still pretty big now with lots of properties. http://annarborapartments.net/ http://www.cmbmgmt.rentlinx.com/Listings.aspx They started off as running just a couple of places, a family that had their two daughters come in and help run the business, and it became a family affair, and they've expanded to a bigger company. It's been a few years, so maybe they got bought out, but have nothing but good things to say about my interaction with them. And more of a variety of prices and locations. Closer your are and maybe you don't have to have her pay for parking and such downtown. She's in school, but it doesn't mean she's necessarily super young, so maybe the studnet ghetto doesn't sound appealing...or maybe being part of that does. All depends on your tastes. Work: I can't help too much. There is a little place called Google in town. More seriously, it probably depends on what kind of work you do in the tech field. Spell it out a little more and I'm sure someone can help you. I know places like Barracuda have moved downtown, but there are surely a variety of companies from Google on down to small maketing and development firms. http://annarbor.com/business-review/why-the-ceo-of-barracuda-networks-likes-ann-arbors-talent-pool/ Other: What you can do here is lots, but the first thing you're going to need to do is eat, and you don't have to go any further than here for that- http://mgoblog.com/content/guide-ann-arbor-eating-drinking You don't say WHEN you're moving. But I'd avoid the exact same times as student move in, if possible, and July 17-20....Art Fair, where all the streets are closed and traffic is a zoo. |
| 20 hours 2 min ago | The only way "stayed tuned" makes any sense for 2014 |
Is if he's giving ND the right bofore the game buy out EAT IT letter, and then scheduling someone to come to Michigan Stadium with a promise of a return trip much further down the line. |
| 20 hours 7 min ago | Yeah, we got the "Big Ten does it" line. |
Isn't he the head of one of the members of the Big Ten? I'm not sure how when a layman can spend 2 minutes looking at the schedules and see a flip flop between M, MSU, and Indy can fix it that fast for all teams that it's something that the Big Ten can't easily fix without messing up the rest of their schedules. |
| 20 hours 10 min ago | I don't think he was clear at all |
And I think it was on purpose, to blow by the fact that the 2014 home schedule sucks. I think he MEANT future schedules to "stay tuned" for, but it was in direct response to complaints about the 2014 schedule. So he kinda didn't answer the question, and there would probably have been a follow-up if this wasn't charity day. |

| 1 day 15 hours ago | You made that up. |
I don't think I ever saw Bo in EXCELLENT physical condition. The only weakness he had in the game was keeping him on the field. |
| 1 day 15 hours ago | WANT to see Michigan victories |
Well, on the bright side, if we can somehow pull off an undefeated home schedule THIS year, we've locked up going undefeated at home for 4 straight years. |
| 1 day 16 hours ago | So, since Maryland is actually before OSU |
You're saying we have three weeks to prepare for Ohio, amiright? But good find on the breaks before thee rival games at least. Of course, we usually do worse going into the bye with two weeks to stew, so PSU and Northwestern are scary games. And what I'm seeing of OSU's schedule has Cinncy before Maryland, and a bye on the 6th. So either the Big Ten screwed it up or OSU did (or most likely that's considered "Big Ten season" and a bye, but OSU scheduled a game there and took their bye after the 1st game). |

View on tweets- You hit the nail on the head that Brennan completely discounts the fact that these are actually going to someone. If that letter to the editor was then forwarded by the editor to the party rather than dumped in the trash her analogy would work. HOWEVER, there is a solution to this: Don't let people you don't know follow you and tweet to you. If your be all is some twitter ranking no one but you cares about by having so many followers (but never having a record setting amount) accept that when you take any and all people to add to your total, you're probably getting some assholes in that group, and don't be surprised when they're assholes after the fact. if you add @WildcatTillIDie then tweet him "Whoooo, Kansas Baby!" expect people to not be happy. I mean, you're letting people who follow a high school kid follow you. What do you expect? After doing some research, I can say that I see nothing wrong with this "Isis Taylor"...she seems like a wonderful girl. Now whatever was behind "Cannot open page" might be more scary. (And no one picked up on that he's also apparently been looking around at getting an online Master degree in teaching?!? Obviously he has a future as an educator.) |
