Blitz chess? That's like being the champion of 7-man football. 40 years ago I used to play alot of blitz in Washington Square Park, where part of Searching for Bobby Fischer was filmed. Those Guys just learned a variety of patterns to rely on but would have been decimated in classic games by decent players.
I find it amusing that Magnus, perhaps the best ever, has essentially quit chess to try his hand at high stakes poker. Definitely different skills required.
Honestly, I think we lost on 2013 because of Beilein's auto bench policy at the end of the first half, allowing Hancock go off and squandering our substantial lead.
Maddie Nolan was far more valuable than people are giving her credit for. Very good 3pt shooter. Tough defender. Smart player. Leg injury hampered her. But I would have liked to retain her. She made the tourney this year.
Mulkey is a preening peacock who always wants the attention to be on her rather than her players. Just look at how she dresses. She is also the bitch who convinced Brittney Griner to stay in the closet her whole college career so as not to offend the Baylor administration. So, she puts winning over the mental health of her players, as well.
I was teaching at Hofstra Law School when Jay Wright was coaching the team. I met him a few times and he always struck me as a totally class act. Genuine and down to earth.
Why is no one considering Chris Collins? For the right money and a jump to a much higher profile school he might be gettable. He has done great things recently for NU. And I can overlook the Duke thing.

Great musician. I love Living On A Prayer.
All of those belong in plus Jethro Tull. Incredible that they're all out. I guess they're left "sitting on a park bench."
Yeah, but think about how the BlueJackets fans feel about it. They may have to start rooting against the home team.
Not really. But the silence about recruits for women's golf is deafening.
Spending time on what you can't change? That describes every sports fan in the world.
Yes. But I panic easily.
Fuck Pete Carroll and Charles White! It should start even earlier.
Oh, and fuck OJ while we're at it.
But...But... if you live in Hawai'i the game begins at 7 am!

Me, too. After we beat Texas we can sit back and enjoy the rest of the day's and evening's games.

Doesn't get any better than that.
Clearly he needs a lengthy immersion in Camp Sander... uh, never mind.

Pretty much keeps the proper cadence.
I'm no expert, but Peck's .917 and 2.25 look pretty good to me.
I would much rather they spend lots of money on bad coaches rather than good athletes; so, it's all good.
Yeah. But have you ever seen Christian Ponder's wife?
"Food for thought as to who killed Nicole"? Can I wash it down with OJ?
Tipton is coming to Michigan?
I'm pretty sure Michigan's starters were marshmallows.

Well, Oakland did as well as the Izzoids this year. So there's that.
Fuck Allan Haller. The rest are okay.

What do you tell Mia when you lose a recruit out of Sevastopol?
"It's a crime, Mia."
Agreed. Absolutely no excuse for not fouling with 1 second left.

If at first you don't succeed, fuck it up a second time.
Or men's rowing.
I agree. Let's schedule Vanderbilt every year.
PSU's is even worse
I am NOT biased, but I think they should be the first 16 picks of the draft.
Carries a big briefcase?
The way things are going, in 5 years you probably wouldn't.

For those of you old enough to remember: Ryan "Mr. Whipple" Day.

I didn't know Art Schlichter spoke Japanese.
I really want McDermott (from Creighton, not Rounders).
