Go Blue!

The difference between a man

The difference between a man and a boy is the boy says fuck this, fuck that, and the man actually says something worthwhile.

Play over flag?Maybe covered

Play over flag?

Maybe covered previously but during our game with the Minny there was a play that was actually over and the refs huddled quickly following the play to discuss, and then the one ref drops the flag and we were penalized.   Didn't pass the logic test to me.   It would be easier to pick up a flag than to throw it after the play is over...because the play is over.

"...mostly very well." = not

"...mostly very well." = not good.

It's more than just DBs in coverage of course but we've given up 645 yards in passing the last two games.  Both QBs threw under 50% which sounds good, but each catch is averaging over 19 yards per play which doesn't sound good.   I hope we can tighten that up going forward.

I see what you did there.

I see what you did there.

Run, A.J., Run.

Run, A.J., Run.  Faster!

Great to see A.J. making some catches this season and being more of a factor.   Love it.

First and foremost I like the

First and foremost I like the idea of valuing the ball and not turning it over by taking bad chances with the long ball.   I also look foward to seeing a deep ball with more air or loft, complete or not.

I believe the open receiver is this case can truly make a great adjustment to the ball.  I think this type of ball would be harder to intercept too as long as there is only one defensive player in the play and especially if he is a step behind the receiver.   If you throw a low ball it will get picked and there can be no adjustment by the receiver.

Really, don't ever care about

Really, don't ever care about a UFR score either, but thanks for thinking of me.

C'mon man!   The odds were

C'mon man!   The odds were stacked in Brady's favor...the game is over.

After seeing the play again

After seeing the play again this morning I think that #24, could've had a chance to draw a flag when the defender's arm went across his body he would have to slow down a step and go back through the arm to create a situation where the ref could not ignore throwing a flag while at the same time making an attempt at a tackle.  Easy to say, I know.

Yeah, the entire play got all

Yeah, the entire play got all the more unbelieveable as it continued to unfold.  It was a nightmare except I was awake.

Good to see a breakdown of

Good to see a breakdown of penalties at least for this game (in addition to the traditional box score info and get the bigger picture of the game).   Can't help but think that because MS has had a few good seasons and bowl wins of late that they benefit from it.  It's like okay Michigan, you need to pay your dues first.

Anyone else get a headache watching the game...I hate when that happens.

Woe...Joe, I mean Bob.

Woe...Joe, I mean Bob.  Michigan wins by 4.

I think the LSJ dudes are

I think the LSJ dudes are just trying to piss off the team in hopes that it will give them more motivation from the 'everyone disrespects us' perspective.

Okay Rudy.

Okay Rudy.

I honestly thought the game

I honestly thought the game would be close and it would be won late in the 4th quarter by either team so I was surprized at the end score.  I'm so happy that it turned out the way it did because it really shows our potential.  Not sure what you're talking about smoke and mirrors...that's not the case with my post.  The announcers talked about how BYU could be tired and had a tough schedule so that stuck with me.  While Spielman paid us a compliment we really won't be a nationally recognized T10 team unless we win the next 3 games.

Michigan is not a 'legit' T10

Michigan is not a 'legit' T10 team after only playing 4 games beating a tired BYU team with a backup freshman QB and two lessor opponents previously.  Sounds like pandering to me.  It's fun to watch them win and improve but let's not get carried away, Chris.

Rudock was directly accounted

Rudock was directly accounted for 3 TDs with no TOs and that by itself is better than adequate.  I believe a lot of quarterbacks would taken his performance yesterday.   While I'm sure he would tell you there is room for improvement that can be said for most players and no, it's not good enough for this year.

Yeah, I believe the coach was

Yeah, I believe the coach was selling Miller a repeat and best chance to make the pros.  Miller bought in and will get snaps in a variety of ways giving them more offensive options.

If you scrap conference

If you scrap conference 'divisions' then you don't need a conference championchip game.  What reward to you get for being best in conference....a chance to lose what you've accomplished all year to the second best team?

However unlikely it is to happen, I also think the chance of playing Ohio State twice a year would dilute how special the one game is each year, and especially because its last game of the year.   Back-to-back....not so much.

Stick to picking on the

Jump Shoot Into Defender

The defender can't jump into the offensive player but the offensive player can jump into the defensive player?   Doesn't pass the logic test.

Yeah, I think Green could

Yeah, I think Green could have fouled out 2 times in this game if they called all of his fouls.

So that would be an 'arm for

So that would be an 'arm for arm'.

You could get punched in

You could get punched in the face and it could hurt for a little while but someoneI could say something derogatory to you and it could stick with you for years.   Therefore me thinks the  tongue is a dangerous weapon and word choice does matter.

I don't care for the victim

I don't care for the victim mentality as a Michigan fan.   I enjoy watching sports, but also hate watching sports when there are messed up calls.   You always ask yourself how can that happen?  While improvements have been made to get officiating right much more can still be done to make it better.   No reason the interference call in the softball game couldn't have been changed.

The Bears messed up.  Period.

While Dennis was liked by

While Dennis was liked by many I don't think his dancing really reflected favorably on a struggling Michigan football team.    Win or lose I didn't care for it.   He brought a little attention to himself, far more than his return game did and I don't get my Brady let him do it.  Never seen OSU, MSU, Penn State or Nebraska players do it.  Signed // Crotchety Old Guy

The player needs to make his

The player needs to make his own number special, i.e., the man makes the number, the number doesn't make the man.  I think the older players perspective should carry a lot of weight since they've been in the trenches already.   Seen too many times last season where people wearing legends numbers was disheartening based on performance and IMO made the program a j***.   So yeah, overall, not a fan of the program but would say, "make first team all conference" as a measure of your performance as an underclassman.   Then you don't need all the internal numerical criteria, etc., i.e., The Seth Plan.   (Yes, most likely you'd be going pro in lieu of your senior year and not wear a legends number anyway).   The legends numbers prgram as it is/was seemed like a distraction.  Let's just play some good football.  I don't want to be thinking about if anybody should really be wearing a legends number or not as a side thought.  Again, players need to make their own numbers special.

Looking forward to Suh being

Looking forward to Suh being suspended this year when he implodes on the field.  It'll probably be after taking a cheap shot on Brady.  He has to stay in the headlines with his bad-boy behavior while continually making the NFL look like a joke.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

I guess if you don't win a

I guess if you don't win a football game you can always go back to play calling to some degree in every instance.   How about OSU at the end of the game leaving extra time on the clock because they threw the long pass on first down in their last series.   Crazy?  Maybe, but not dumb.  Just not the best play call either (since it didn't work).  Anyway, after reading the title I thought it was old clip of Lane on Jeopardy missing an easy question.   And, what if he's a little bit smarter than you.....think.

Yeah, if you're beat deep,

Yeah, if you're beat deep, maybe trip the guy before the ball gets there.......

Got out gained with 4

Got out gained with 4 turnovers and still could have won the game on the road.  Darn it!

Good luck in he bowl game.  Can't wait.

We should find more game

We should find more game opportunities to 'grow' our back-up QBs.  You get out of it what you put into it and I'm not sure it's ever been a strength of ours.

Fake whistles, etc.

I know it puts a sour taste in your mouth but I doubt we'd be talking about this if we won our game with them, or if they were in their conference already.  I believe karma will come back to bite them before the season is over.

In the mean time I enjoyed the best 3 hours of my weekend yesterday.

If that call was not reversed

If that call was not reversed it would have been the reason we won the game so I'm glad it turned out the way it did and the defense won the game for us in the end.
