I hope he goes to the Packers, and becomes all-world, wins multiple SBs and just straight kills the Lions every matchup. Karmic retribution for what his dad had to experience here.

that's not a good look. get trolled on national TV, story dies and people move on, then a month later you deliberately bring it back up?
|1 week 3 days ago||Mike Valenti is a genius.||
he's not often right but he doesn't have to be. that's not the point. his job is to get people to listen. which he does, very well.
he's had the number one rated show in Detroit for probably half of his 12 years on the air. he's got a refined and carefully crafted schtick that works like a charm. he berates local teams and picks fights with the biggest fan base in town (us) then puts on the worst representatives of us on air and defenstrates them.
why people get upset about shit he says anymore I'll never know. (im guilty too sometimes) his job is to get ratings. by starting fights with the big kid on the block and saying outrageous things about us he does exactly that.
his show was recently rated the #4 drive time show in the country. it's performance art. if you take emotion out and look at what he does: its brilliant. not saying listen to him (you probably shouldnt if you're going to post this shit). just understand that this is like getting pissed at Triple H for what he said on RAW.

If this is a yearly thing and we have the same issues creeping up, we're in lock step. This is year one, and some of these dudes are going to look around and say "this isn't who I signed up to play for AND I'm not playing, I'm gonna peace out."
Derrick Green is the poster child for this. Again, let's calm our tits and see what happens going forward.
|4 weeks 2 days ago||I've had the same question as||
I've had the same question as the first mailbag question and I pretty confident it was going to come up in a post and I'm glad it has. In my own wrestling with it I look at it in a couple of ways:
1. No one is getting booted off the team for dubious reasons or for dubious medical reasons. There's been no one who has eligibility left get a scholarship yanked and there's no one who got to campus and we were like 'whoops, sorry no room.'
2. It is the first full cycle for Harbaugh after the first full season. There's gonna be guys who have been looking around already and are going to jump ship shortly (Derrick Green) and dudes are going to see the writing on the wall and want to actually play (Moe Wayes, Jaron Dukes, Da'Mario Jones all got passed by a freshman and we're bringing in higher rated guys than him this year). They have probably mentioned such and that's why our class is going to be so large.
If #1 above changes and #2 is a recurring theme, I might start to furrow my brow a bit. I have no issue with dudes leaving for more PT but I don't want to hear anymore questionable stuff like Ondre's assertation that he was forced out. I also don't want to see 28/30 person classes every year where we need a full scale research project to figure out where the numbers are coming from.
so for the time being let's calm our tits and not go all Mike Valenti right now.

They've lost four games total since he's been there. Two in the regular season and only one in Big Ten play. Let's pump the brakes on the wheels coming off the program.

I will never ever ever ever ever ever begrudge a kid going and getting paid. I'll be sad they left but the smart option is almost always to go if you know you're going to get drafted/make the team. The amount of time you have to play this game is very, very small. Cash in while you can. I'd love if all my favorite players stayed for four years every time but that's selfish and bottom line this is someone's life versus my enjoyment of a sport twelve Saturday's a year.

Jerry is a Razorback, I'm sure he could find back channels to Ryan to instruct him to deliberately fuck up his shot in Houston so that he can come to Dallas with that load of talent and drag their bloated corpse to the top of the NFC East and into the playoffs.

Just stop talking about Michigan State. They are a good program, we have 0 to say until we win. We sound petty. The tables have turned, we sound like them ca 10-15 years ago.

The entire field this year is shaky. The only team with a better W so far this year than MSU is Ole Miss and I can' t imagine anyone trusts them more. This will be an exciting season as it is going to be fascinating to watch this all shake out. I'm willing to bet there are 0 P5 undefeated teams going into the playoffs.
|20 weeks 5 days ago||this is late on this article and on one will see it, but:||
I firmly believe that this game was an entire excercise in getting people opportunities who hadn't had any in the two bodybag games before and getting some things on tape. We knew going in that UNLV was seriously overmatched and it looked like our coaching accepted that. I think the UFR will bear out that we were using some new and more forms this week. Hell, we did a jet sweep and a reverse (two things we hadn't shown at all). There was also a noticable amount of traps and zone blocking (instead of the power we graded out very well on versus NTOSU). Hell, Mo Ways caught his (I think) first ball ever. We weren't going to go out there and bomb them and learn nothing about our team. We were going to use it as a chance to work out some things before we get into conference play. I'm not saying this because I think that Rudock isn't a concern (he definitely is) but the offensive performance in total felt more like us leaving the car in park and riding our scooter to the stadium, instead.
|21 weeks 6 days ago||two things that stood out to||
two things that stood out to me that I didn't think of during the game: Brian Cole-as-Marquis-walker-punt-destroyer made me smile.
Secondly: I'm not sure if the INT is late, but it definitely does appear to be Rudock either A) not coming off his primary read or B) staring down a hot route. I'd have to rewatch it but live it looked like he was going to Butt regardless of what the D showed.

|22 weeks 2 days ago||Great idea.||
This will be a fascinating column to look at going forward and tracking throughout the season. The one suggestion I will make is maybe including FEI or line or whatever your favorite ranking index is to give more depth to the write ups. Its easy to laugh at the B1G or ACC for their losses but--at least in the ACC's case all of their losses were to far superior teams and likely.

It will be interesting to see if the offense looks more like Stanford of San Francisco as an end result. I think its going to depend largely on who wins the QB position each year. I will be very sad if Ty Issac doesn't turn into an absolute stud here. In his recruiting film he reminded me of my favorite Michigan running back of all time: Ty Wheatley. I'll take that every day of the week and twice on Saturday.

If we win Utah I find 10-2 likely. If we lose to Utah 8-4 is where we'll be at the end of the regular season.
