Niko Porikos grew up in an NTDP billet home. Cool story.

Just stop talking about Michigan State. They are a good program, we have 0 to say until we win. We sound petty. The tables have turned, we sound like them ca 10-15 years ago.

The entire field this year is shaky. The only team with a better W so far this year than MSU is Ole Miss and I can' t imagine anyone trusts them more. This will be an exciting season as it is going to be fascinating to watch this all shake out. I'm willing to bet there are 0 P5 undefeated teams going into the playoffs.
|2 weeks 4 days ago||this is late on this article and on one will see it, but:||
I firmly believe that this game was an entire excercise in getting people opportunities who hadn't had any in the two bodybag games before and getting some things on tape. We knew going in that UNLV was seriously overmatched and it looked like our coaching accepted that. I think the UFR will bear out that we were using some new and more forms this week. Hell, we did a jet sweep and a reverse (two things we hadn't shown at all). There was also a noticable amount of traps and zone blocking (instead of the power we graded out very well on versus NTOSU). Hell, Mo Ways caught his (I think) first ball ever. We weren't going to go out there and bomb them and learn nothing about our team. We were going to use it as a chance to work out some things before we get into conference play. I'm not saying this because I think that Rudock isn't a concern (he definitely is) but the offensive performance in total felt more like us leaving the car in park and riding our scooter to the stadium, instead.

two things that stood out to me that I didn't think of during the game: Brian Cole-as-Marquis-walker-punt-destroyer made me smile.
Secondly: I'm not sure if the INT is late, but it definitely does appear to be Rudock either A) not coming off his primary read or B) staring down a hot route. I'd have to rewatch it but live it looked like he was going to Butt regardless of what the D showed.

why would we omit the best breweries in each state for this contest?
|4 weeks 11 hours ago||Great idea.||
This will be a fascinating column to look at going forward and tracking throughout the season. The one suggestion I will make is maybe including FEI or line or whatever your favorite ranking index is to give more depth to the write ups. Its easy to laugh at the B1G or ACC for their losses but--at least in the ACC's case all of their losses were to far superior teams and likely.

It will be interesting to see if the offense looks more like Stanford of San Francisco as an end result. I think its going to depend largely on who wins the QB position each year. I will be very sad if Ty Issac doesn't turn into an absolute stud here. In his recruiting film he reminded me of my favorite Michigan running back of all time: Ty Wheatley. I'll take that every day of the week and twice on Saturday.

so you can't stop me.
If we win Utah I find 10-2 likely. If we lose to Utah 8-4 is where we'll be at the end of the regular season.

And Boise State was mostly garbage from 1968 until 1999. Things can change. You might well be right that they return to that era of football, but we can't assume it. We sound petty and ignorant when we don't recognize what Dantonio has done there.

The difference is Lloyd ran as clean of a program as you can for 13 years meanwhlie wining our only modern era NC, 5 BTT and being a fantastic representative of the program.
He's got some cache to offset those things.
Brandon contributed virtually nothing to the program and could have easliy overruled Lloyd -- he was the AD for R'hllor's sake.
Lloyd's not perfect and I'm not thrilled about a lot of his tenure and afterwards but he's still a top 3 coach for us all time.

I thought it was horrible. I'll give it at least half a season but Jesus that was slow, the acting was bad and there felt like a ton of just wasted screen time. ambitious to take on 90 minutes for a preimere so that might have been hurting it.

|7 weeks 11 hours ago||I am very angry, still about Dave Brandon's||
lack of fortitude or leadership when its needed most. I am embarrassed for Brady Hoke to be treated like that by a "friend" he's still loyal to to this day. But I'm proud people like Dave Ablauf and the medical staffers were/are a part of our great institution. Its a goddamn shame the highest paid and most powerful man in the room disregarded everything they had to say. Its deeply disappointing that this silhouette of a man was appointed and allowed to run roughshod over the athletic department. I am very sad for the people who left on their own -- or worse got fired under his watch. Thank R'hllor its all over. Hopefully we all remember this era forever and learn from it.

You're overselling it a little bit, but by and large you're probably not wrong. Still, that hasn't precluded BYU or Utah from out performing us in recent years. Harbaugh is a huge X Factor, but I'm sure in due time we'll be a very good to great team but I wouldn't be surprisedif they both beat us. They are well coached; Wittingham and Mendenhall have necessarily shown themselves to be guys who get more out of less talent.
