|2 days 6 hours ago||Rankings||
If you buy the rumors that some coaches rely on rankings to recruit....highly ranked may lead to good offers but does not equal great potential or great fit.
|2 days 9 hours ago||Consistent excellence makes||
Consistent excellence makes you elite. MSU, Duke, and Kansas are literally in the conversation literally every March, and that's why they're elite. You can afford to miss once in a while (like Kentucky, Florida, or UCONN). But consistent Sweet 16s, Elite 8s, and something approximating one final four per 4-year class (that's hard to do...I really do give Izzo credit for that tidbit that barely died) will make you "Elite". Of course, you have to win it all once too.

I didn't see the episode because I don't watch Archer, but I'm with the OP. 75% or more that Zoltan Kovacs is a brainchild of a Michigan fan writer. The 25% is a wild coincidence.
|5 days 15 hours ago||Hackett||
It was the coaches decision to schedule the spring this way, not Hackett's. Maybe it will change next year. I think our coaches wanted to get their hands on our team as as soon as possible to instill the culture, familiarize themselves with our personnel, and other similar reasons.

So is the update that he did indeed tear it? The way you present the information in this post is pretty unclear.

As a past member of the Maize Rage, I hated wearing maize to games. I was always so pale in the winter and the highlighter Adidas was not a good luck. I much prefer the corn Nike Maize.
|1 week 6 days ago||Maybe||
Maybe if you signed them all to 10 year contracts and let them mature as individuals and a team. But now? Not even close.
|1 week 6 days ago||Who cares||
I think that people who get upset about wearing jerseys are over analyzing it. Who cares. It's fashion.
|2 weeks 1 hour ago||Once through||
I gave it one quick run through and no songs jumped out at me as certified "5 stars" in my book. GKMC had several - Don't Kill My Vibe, Money Trees, Swimming Pools, & The Art of Peer Pressure were immediately favorites. Beyond that, GKMC's other songs grew on me as I appreciated the artistry and story telling.
Like I said, just one run through. So I'm sure it'll grow on me as I'm able to "listen" more to it. But I didn't get that love at first listen that I've had with his other projects. I'm a longtime fan and looking forward to diving deeper into this project.

You guys should be proud of your efforts, and it sure seems like you're genuinely good people. Thanks for representing the Block M and our community so well, and keep it up.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||He got 2||
He legitimately did.
|2 weeks 5 days ago||That's true||
That's all true, but let's try to remember that he's a young redshirt freshman and big dudes are notoriously slower to develop. Kaminsky is a force today....he was not for his first 2.5 years on campus.
|2 weeks 5 days ago||No||
We went 15-15. Spike was good and I love having him. But he's not close to the rebounder, defender, or scoring threat that Walton is. And Walton has much more room left to grow.
|2 weeks 6 days ago||Miller||
Jack Miller was never meant to exist at 300 lbs. Don't underestimate the physical tolls of football, and his weight situation specifically. He arrived on campus at "260" and his knees and feet are probably telling him enough is enough. So while it might not be "all academic," I don't think there's a dark reason. Academic plus physical most likely. Not to mention the mental demands of playing at this level.
|3 weeks 1 day ago||Cars||
1. I am soon to graduate from medical school
2. I drive the same Honda Accord I purchased when I first got my liscence. It's a solid car.
3. I plan on driving that car into the ground in order to save money to pay off loans. Even when I do, I'll buy something decent and reliable...with 4-wheel drive. I've never coveted a luxury car.
|3 weeks 5 days ago||Never say never.||
If we play indoors at Ford Field, weather won't be a factor. Jk, hopefully.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||Rules||
I'm not completely sure, but I think this is legal. I think you can be in the same area - you just can't talk to them. I remember stories of coaches literally walking by players in the hallway and not being able to say hello.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||I don't know||
In Beilein I trust...but pass? A guy whose first season of eligibility would be as redshirt junior in the same year that Aubrey, MAAR, Duncan, and Chatman will all be juniors. And those are just guys who could possibly play in the backcourt. Walton and Irvin would be Seniors. As of now, we wouldn't have any sophomores.
I see that we need guards, so a 6'2" Sina fits that need. But that class is way too heavy on the junior class. I'd much rather bank the scholarship and take a late bloomer in the 2015 class (Spike, MAAR, and Aubrey worked out OK) or take a giant 2016 class that possibly includes some really big fish.
|5 weeks 8 hours ago||MD and Rutgers||
I'm totally fine with Maryland in the Big Ten. And Rutgers maybe too. Their football is respectable in a Minnesota type of way, and at least they represent an easy win on the hardwood? Recruiting doors opened up a bit more in that area it seems.
|5 weeks 1 day ago||Nice feeling||
It's been announced that he's doing that, hasn't it?
|5 weeks 2 days ago||My own horn||
I'll toot my own horn and say that I saw this coming. It's deep within the evidence of my MGoBlog profile on several occasions. He was written off because of lack of PT. But he always had fairly productive short stints as a rebounder and general big body. Opportunity unleashes potential. It's hard to show what you can do in 4 mpg stints, ask Nik how the NBA is going.
|5 weeks 5 days ago||Because||
Because he loves the team and his teammates, doesn't want to "go out like that," wants to go from borderline first round pick to the lottery pick that he can be (weak '16 draft, and he's very young, and wants his M degree for life after basketball.
|5 weeks 5 days ago||Hatch||
I agree with you. But if I had to bet, Hatch will ask for a medical redshirt after his Sophomore or Junior year if it becomes clear that he's still nowhere near contributing. He has a ton of integrity and will be honest with himself, and I can see him wanting to free up a scholarship for someone who needs it and can help the team when it becomes clear that his miracle recovery has a ceiling to what he will accomplish at the D1 level.
|5 weeks 5 days ago||Max||
Beilein has said continuously and recently that Max will not return next year.
|6 weeks 13 hours ago||Irvin||
I like Zak, but I think he is what he is. That's a four year guy, great college performer. He's not an early entry candidate, unless he feels his age will hurt him too much and wants to gamble as a second round pick next year. I think his best case is to continue to develop and get drafted mid second round as a Senior, and have to body and refinement to stick around as a rotation 3+D. He's a decent athlete and a good shooter. But you can't really teach driving and finishing instincts. He doesn't have them. He's getting better with time, but the NBA athletes will put him back to square one.
|6 weeks 4 days ago||Gone Girl||
I went to see it with a girl who I had been seeing for a month. Things were never quite the same afterwards.
It was a really good movie though! haha
|6 weeks 5 days ago||Yeah||
Burke was by all means awesome as a freshman. Darius Morris is the player we should think about and hope for in Kam. I'm going to hold his stock. I see the tools, he just has a long way to go to polish. And I trust our coaches completely in helping him reach his potential.
|6 weeks 6 days ago||My sources||
My sources told me that Gideon was a bit frustrated with his role last year. After getting a fair bit of PT as a freshman, he seemed to get less meaningful play last year. I think he'll be licking his chops this spring with new coaches
|7 weeks 42 min ago||Awesome Thread Idea||
I don't necessarily have a suggestion, but this is a pretty cool thread topic.
Somebody said Jim Abbott above...that's a great one. Broad appeal.
|7 weeks 3 days ago||The same||
Many of us applied to and attended UofM, but there are plenty of good options in Michigan and beyond. Plenty of my classmates went to and graduated from MSU, and are doing well. Others opted for Kzoo, Western, smaller colleges in the Midwest, and the super bright might have gone Ivy.
So in conclusion, I don't think it is any different than living in any other city. Except that most still cheer for Michigan to some extent (some MSU grads completely shifted, while others play the "when they're not playing MSU" card).
