Even so, when you look at the margins of loss.....poor Rutgers.
Seriously though, it feels good to be able to say that your team is responsible for something like this, the domination of everyone they've faced to date. It would be interesting to know if this also holds true for yards allowed and a couple other metrics - that is to say, were those teams at their least productive overall when facing Michigan?
|9 hours 39 min ago||Just Saw That...||
Well, now we have a perfect record in one section and the graphic representation of the results has Michigan State winning all of the games, which makes it an interesting rivalry indeed.
This page will eventually get locked probably, but WIkipedia seems to be often the victim of rivalry weeks.
|9 hours 52 min ago||That Song...||
That song has been a terrible earworm since the Wisconsin game and the melding together of this song and that formation, but as we've used it to such success twice now, I just sing along now.
I honestly had not thought about this song in years until Wisconsin weekend actually.

I can't see them either.
I hit "Open Image In Tab" and got a link to a Google Mail account, which does no one here any good. Can you upload those to a file sharing service and repost them or send the link along to the thread?
|12 hours 35 min ago||Already Covered...||
4 star LB Willie Gay decommits from Ole Miss. He had Michigan as his leader a couple of weeks ago. Buckle up?
It's on the second page and was posted earlier today.
Again, you have to get up early in the morning for this sort of news to NOT be on the board within minutes.
|12 hours 41 min ago||I Wonder...||
The 23-year-old called his meals at Michigan "jail food" and said it was "disgusting." According to Solomon, "Trey Burke says he didn't eat breakfast at Michigan and it became a problem." Moreover, Burke claimed it is the coach's job to handle a personal issue for a player.
I kind of wonder how that last sentence would make a coach like Beilein feel since he seems like someone who would do anything to help one of his players through a rough patch.
This article made me feel a little disappointed - maybe that's an overreaction.
|15 hours 53 min ago||Just Dabbling...||
I was just dabbling over on Massey Ratings earlier and building the probability matrix for the next five games and it is encouraging if the predictions hold.
It currently runs as follows:
5 wins - 43.9786%
4 wins - 47.5139%
3 wins - 7.9466%
2 wins - 0.5508%
1 win - 0.0099%
Utter collapse - 0.0001%
I'll take an estimated 91.4925% chance of being at least 11-1 in the regular season.
|16 hours 5 min ago||As I Imagined...||
This thread is as I imagined it.
I am just here to watch another game time announcement devolve into a discussion about why certain times are better. I only say that because it seems like a great number of us make it work regardless, even if we are muttering under our breath the entire time.
My own preference is 3:30 PM honestly because I have more control of my day overall then and don't need to rush out there door or pretend to be a morning person, but as long as there is coffee, noon can be made to work too.
|17 hours 26 min ago||About That...||
I remember hearing about this reply from him and actually being dumbfounded myself, kind of immediately thinking along the lines of what one dude tweeted - very sarcastically - that Ferentz was clearly more of football sabremetrics guy than a math guy.
Still, that can't fill Iowa fans with a lot of confidence - it's easy enough to see the argument against going for two maybe if you're Kirk Ferentz and you have to deal with Iowa's offense every damn day, but the reasons IN FAVOR of going for it were very compelling, I think - too compelling to ignore strategically.
|18 hours 13 min ago||Very Nice...||
I figured that the QBR regarding Stribling and Lewis would have been pretty low, but I guess I didn't fully realize how low it would be. That's impressive and a half.
Although, now that I think about it, I guess it isn't too shocking when you look at other measures though - that S&P+ Success Rate, for example, is 18.5%. That's not a typo at all - offenses are only getting necessary yardage on downs 18.5% of the time against Michigan. Unreal indeed.
|18 hours 24 min ago||Penn State...||
I think Penn State has at least one "lean loss" or "tossup" on that schedule, and if I had to guess, it would be Iowa, so on the surface, I don't know that the scenario described by the OP is all that likely, especially with this much uncertainty still built into any projection.
Right now, the road to the Big Ten East is through us, so as others have said, just win. It's that simple....on paper anyway. Still, that's all we need to do for the moment.
|20 hours 35 min ago||They Are...||
They are though - by recruits leaving their prospective class through various means, this alleviates the burden of having to actually actively maintain these relationships with recruits and their families. The result is more time for Freeze - and really the entire Ole Miss staff - to spend at home doing the important stuff.
|20 hours 42 min ago||I Thought About It...||
When I initially began doing this about threee years ago, I actually thought about that very thing and having only a mid-season and end-of-season breakdown, but even in the knowledge that this would increase its overall validity, it was never meant to be a scholarly work by any means so I opted to have some fun with it instead.
It is correct, however, to point out the "observer effect" here, although sometimes in the more straining moments of the season, I am still sure we're getting mostly genuine responses, and I do eliminate clear attempts to skew the results from the start each week.

The Valero Alamo Bowl prediction of Baylor / Washington State though...
I mean, say that happens and you're flipping channels on the 29th of December and you're like, "You know, I've been looking for some good old fashioned pass game porn...." and you stop on that game for a couple hours....
|1 day 15 hours ago||Even Further...||
As someone already said, this defense is indeed ridiculous.
I mean, when is the last time a Michigan defense was giving up only 3.5 yards per play on average, an average of 111 pass yards per game, had a sack percentage of 12.77%, held teams to 2.9 yards per rush....and that's just a few more stats.
This unit is fun to watch on every single play.
|1 day 15 hours ago||Good Work...||
Dantonio did you really call a TO? Have you become a sore loser? Take the loss like a man.
I assume this was made during the weird moment when Dantonio used his last TO to ice the victory formation Maryland was in. I will say, however, that this seemed like something a jilted Dantonio might do. The look on his face as time expired was incredible....and hilarious to me anyway.
Good work on these threads. Always fun to read someone else's pain in sports because sports.
|1 day 15 hours ago||We'll Try This...||
I bumped the combined thread and removed this as an experiment:
#2 in AP
My suggestion is that if we're going to do catch-all poll threads, please ask for a periodic bump or create it as soon as the Coaches or AP come out and then title it appropriately so we know to nuke the others.
I'll leave a couple duplicates this time, but keep this in mind for next week.
|1 day 15 hours ago||I'll Bump It...||
I will probably bump it later in the day to discourage too much overlap - if someone is going to do such a thread, it is probably better started once the AP and Coaches poll are out so we can just start with those and run from there. We'll let a few individual threads stand for now though and use the original one as the summary later.
|1 day 16 hours ago||Poorly Executed...||
I'm just going to leave this here
This one seems like it was poorly executed, so we'll take it down. The OP may try again at their own peril, of course.
|1 day 16 hours ago||For Example...||
One that the Spartans I know are absolute livid with, for example, is Dave Warner. Quite a few people seems to place a considerable about of the blame for the sluggish offense on him, but to Njia's point, the dropoff in overall coaching quality (i.e., how they function as a staff) seems extremely apparent now, if it was not last season.
|1 day 18 hours ago||Embed For The Board...||
Here's the clip embedded in the tweet. Yeah, it's nice that OSU choked this one away and all that, but the healing process is something this school will apparently never allow to happen, at least not completely. They would first need to admit something happened, you see.
|1 day 18 hours ago||I Don't Know...||
I guess if the concern stems from them now having some extra motivation coming into The Game, then I can see where that might enter into it perhaps, but I will say that I enjoy that - for the time being - the road to winning the Big Ten East runs through Ann Arbor. The fact that OSU lost to a team that we beat handily is much more a source of chuckles for me at the moment.
|1 day 20 hours ago||Checking Out Sagarin...||
Sagarin looks like it is up-to-date as of yesterday's games, and we see Michigan at #2, below only Alabama.
Other Big Ten notables:
#3 - Ohio State
#10 - Wisconsin
#24 - Nebraska
#31 - Penn State
#34 - Iowa
#44 - Northwestern
So, seven Big Ten teams in the top 50.

|2 days 5 hours ago||At Least For Me...||
Far and away, at least this week, it would have to be the furtherance of Michigan State's descent into a very sad season indeed, as well as Ohio State falling to Penn State in no small part due to what I thought was some very conservative playcalling. I have a feeling the poll discussions will be interesting tomorrow as well, but yeah, we can all go to bed very pleased with how this day went.
|2 days 5 hours ago||Oh Wow...||
I am fairly certain it has been a while since we've had a weekend where we won - handily, I might add - and where MSU and Ohio State both lost. Yeah, I like the feeling the results and I could stand to experience more of these sorts of Saturdays.
It also means that the MSU and OSU people at work will be silent in their cubicles on Monday. I do not intend to be silent.
|2 days 6 hours ago||Nonsense...||
All you have to do is fill an empty gallon jug with some Benefiber and water, shake well, and then chug it. Give it several hours and you will be shitting like no one else. Indeed, you'll be cleaner than you've ever been, I would imagine.
